My friend loved the pirri pirri sauce on the Cornish hen and I loved the selection of veggies! The salmon was perfectly cooked. It is a lovely establishment but customer service could be improved.

I loved the historical charm of this place, especially during the holiday season, with all the Christmas decorations and a diferently adorned Christmas tree in almost every corner, room, and floor of the venue. One section of the hotel (with the large half-spiral wooden staircase) reminded me of a section of a castle from the Medieval era. There were many rooms for events, weddings, and various functions. The lobby itself was decked out with festive holiday décor. The afternoon tea reservations are hard to come by (especially the themed one - Winter Wonderland), so we were glad to snag one of the last few remaining spots (even though we booked early, weeks before the reservation date). Everyone got called by reservation name and escorted to an assigned table by a personal server, who explained the historical significance of the afternoon tea tradition at the Old Mill. I thought that was a nice touch. When arriving at the assigned table, the menu was already personalized based on whether you had the regular, vegetarian, or vegan menu. We opted for vegan menu (had to call in and request it at least 48 hours in advance). The server then took our tea selection, and shortly came back with the pots of tea and our afternoon tea tower (savoury sandwiches, scones, and desserts). The vegan Winter Wonderland Afternoon Tea menu consisted of: SANDWICHES - Cucumber & Vegan Cream Cheese Sandwiches (delicate finger sandwiches with sliced cucumber and herbed vegan cream cheese) - Grilled Vegetables Sandwiches (grilled zucchini, bell peppers, asparagus, and red onion, tossed in herbs - served on rosemary focaccia bread) - Field Mushrooms with Pesto Sandwiches (field mushroom duxelles with pesto, vegan cream cheese, and mustard - served in brown bread) - Roasted Golden Beets & Vegan Pesto Goat Cheese Sandwiches (roasted and pickled golden beets, vegan pesto goat cheese, and arugula - served in dark rye bread) SCONES - Caramelized Leeks & Vegan Cheddar Scones - Eggnog, Dry Cherry, and White Chocolate Scones DESSERTS - Pomegranate & Dark Chocolate Yule Logs - Coconut & Raspberry Travel Cake - Chestnut & Vanilla Snowflake Chocolate Verrine - Peppermint Macarons All of the savoury were delicious and quite filling. My favourites were the Grilled Vegetablese and Field Mushrooms sandwiches. I found the scones were too dry (not a big fan of scones in general), and the desserts were pretty but too sweet for me. The room was nicely decorated with all things Christmas, and I liked the comics / historical mini posters on some of the walls. There was a complimentary arcade bar with great games. I ordered in room dining for dinner one night. I got mushroom pasta and it was so creamy. It was delicious and I would easily get this again. The service at the front desk was quick through out my stay. The valet and bell desk were all extremely helpful and quick. I had an excellent stay and would highly recommend this hotel. Although not in the core of the city it's close enough to get to places within a 5-10 minutes uber. And walkable to Liberty Village.

While my time in that area was most enjoyable and even at times, spectacular, in truth this accommodation was the least memorable part of the trip, and perhaps that is a good thing. The facility is right off the Queen Elizabeth Way, making it convenient and potentially, noisy. Luckily, I had a room with inside balcony, making for a quiet time. I overlooked the indoor pool which was not overly utilized, so it worked well for me. Beds were comfy, bathroom renovated, and room maintenance minimal by the staff. I had a ton of privacy. Only knock was the slow shower drain, which necessitated quick showers to avoid overflow. No biggie, but obvious that no one checks these things on a regular basis. The location was minutes from downtown Oakville, which turned out to be a blessing. My first time there, I was impressed by how well the town was planned out. Beautiful main streets, lovely nearby neighborhoods that I could see myself living in. Restaurants galore, with every ethnicity represented. My favorite meal was only 6 minutes from the front door. Made reservations through Trivago and Booking.com. Easy peasy, and priced very competitively. I would definitely stay there again if I had reason to return to Oakville, 50 km west of downtown Toronto.

Arriving at Pearson, I took a taxi from there to the hotel. The cost was $58 CAD flat rate plus tip. On my last stay, I had a room on the 6th floor. This worked well for me and afforded a nice view of the area. My room was clean and spacious with a pleasant decor. The bathroom was functional with an adequate amount of space. The TV offered a decent array of programming. The work area was good size and the WiFi functioned without any major issues. The bed was comfortable and the environs were quiet allowing me to get good sleep. There was a restaurant in the hotel offering an option for breakfast. I took advantage of this one morning and it was so-so. However, there were also two or three places within walking distance of the hotel. We went to Whole Foods one morning and Sunset Grill on another. The room rates were not bad for the quality of the stay and the location. The average daily rate was about $146 CAD. My total bill was just over $501 CAD for three nights with all taxes included. This was a pretty good deal. As such, I would not hesitate to recommend this place if you need a hotel in Oakville for business in Oakville or Mississauga or if you need an alternative to a downtown hotel.

But the experience of the room itself and the service are what make this hotel so special. The Hazelton is located at the posh Yorkville neighborhood of Toronto. It's part of Leading Hotels of the World (LHW). In Canada there are 3 location of this consortium. Two of them are located in Montréal and one in Toronto, The Hazelton. Fiji water is available everywhere, so you'll stay hydrated. All rooms non-EtOH beverages are free. The valet parking is standard. Rooms are two types, deluxe and luxury. Definitely go with the luxury as they're bigger and no huge difference in rates. The deep green marble of the bathroom is gorgeous. There are so many details in each room that you can't keep a count. After checking in, showering, Nespressoing then and going out, upon return, the room was fully serviced again as usual for 5 stars hotels. This hotel is as fancy as it gets and it will add to your Toronto experience.

One of my favorite features of this property is the heated garage. As a Diamond Elite member, I always appreciate how many dedicated spots they offer -- it makes arriving and parking completely stress-free. The staff is consistently kind and accommodating. Everyone I've interacted with has been eager to help and genuinely welcoming. There's also a small bodega tucked behind the front desk with snacks, wine, and the occasional branded item, which is super convenient. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. We usually book a suite with a living room and bartop seating, which gives us plenty of room to relax. The bathrooms aren't huge, but the tubs are great for soaking, and they're perfect for getting ready for a night out. The only downside on our last stay was the water pressure, which seemed a bit low -- likely due to the wet-room setup. Wine hour from 5-6 p.m. is always a highlight. They partner with a local winery to pour both a red and a white, which feels so much more thoughtful than a generic corporate bottle. It's a fun way to meet the staff and other guests, if you're in the mood. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the heating and cooling systems work exactly as they should. Despite the busy streets below, noise was never an issue -- being on a higher floor definitely helps. And one of the absolute best parts: they're truly pet friendly. When walking down St. George you don't see any signage that identifies the hotel. It is very close to the University of Toronto, the main city museum and a shoe museum. You read that right, a "shoe" museum. Lots of shopping nearby.and in walking distance. The suite I stayed in was large and nicely furnished but not "new" nor elegant, The bathroom should have had a larger sink/counter area for a hotel suite. The room(s) on the 12th floor were clean and quiet. It is pricey but that is usually the case in big cities. I would give it 3 1/2 stars and would not hesitate to return.
