As I write this, I am still scratching my head…read more I recently took my old engagement ring to Accent to see how much they would give me. I had taken it to the store that it was purchased from and gotten their price. I just wanted to see how Accent compared. I've never done business with them before, as I am not in the habit of selling jewelry. My diamond was $10K when it was purchased in 2006. Platinum band, ~1 carat natural diamond with excellent clarity. I have the receipt from its purchase, but didn't provide it to Accent - I wanted to see what they'd say. Their offer? ** $575 ** $575 for a $10K ring? How in God's name does a piece of jewelry deteriorate in value that much? I am baffled. And how is it that the jeweler that sold it recently offered me $5K? I understand people need to make a profit - I do. I was not expecting Accent to offer me $10,000. But $575?!?!?! You done lost your mind. I will, of course, be going to my jeweler. Claudia Barr would be so ashamed of you, Accent Jewelers. Tsk, tsk.

I would personally go somewhere else ... very rude was told they buy a lot of jewelry and had…read morealready bought up to much of Princess shaped diamonds and would not even make an offer on my jewelry as the Princess cut is no longer in style so I went down the street where they did ... first and last visit... I was also told that real diamonds have gone down in value since the new lab cut diamonds are out and more people are buying those ...Take your diamonds somewhere else maybe they are just good at buying silver

I am getting married in mid-October. I came here to purchase my fiancé's wedding band. I wanted a…read morecustom ring, something he could wear while working in food service, but that wasn't a boring silver band. Using Lashbrook's website, I designed the custom wedding band I wanted. I went to Robert Irwin Jewelers to get him sized and to place the order. My fiancé never wore rings before, so he didn't know how it should fit. He thought he might be a 7.5 after sizing himself at home. In the store, an older gentleman helped us. He convinced us that he is a 7.25 - since it will fit perfect once it's cold (unnoticed red flag #1). I worked with him to make sure the custom order was correct. I was very nervous about the sizing, but he reassured me that if it didn't fit, it could be resized for $10 (apparently a lie). As we are designing the ring, he is continuously trying to upswell me (red flag #2) I'm a young woman, buying a wedding ring. I have a strict budget. I keep repeating what I want, eventually the order form is complete. Since it is a custom ring, it would take 4-6 weeks to come in. I paid half of the cost up front, and went home. 5 weeks later the ring comes in. I am absolutely bouncing off the walls, I am so excited. I pick up the ring and it is absolutely beautiful. I pay the rest of the balance. I go home and ask my fiancé if he wants to see it, or be surprised by it on our wedding day. He wants to see it. He loves it! He tries it on! ... it's a little tight. I think, we followed all the advice we were given, maybe it's because he isn't used to wearing rings? He wears it for not even 30 minutes and his finger goes numb. I'm panicking, I've spend so much money, it's custom, it doesn't fit. I remember the comforting gentleman telling me it would only be $10 to resize. I have another 5 weeks until my wedding. If we go now, maybe we can pay for a rush and it will be fixed! We go back to Robert Irwin Jewelers. I explain that it doesn't fit to the woman at the counter. She says that since we were sized in store, we would need to pay HALF OF THE COST OF THE RING to have it resized. Alternatively, we could wait 30 days and pay $55 for shipping+handling to have it resized (another lie). I panic. I want to cry. My fiancé says it's fine, he will get a silicone band and just wear the tight ring for pictures. We did everything right and followed the instructions of the employee and it's wrong. The employee lied to us to get us to order the ring without double checking the size. I'm out over $1000 already and they want more to make it right. I ask if anything can be done. There is no manager in while we are there, but the manager would be in the next day, and they could review options. They'd give me a call. I leave the ring there and go home, absolutely destroyed. They don't call. I call them after work as im driving home. They say that they can't do anything. Half the cost of the ring to have it fixed now, or WAIT 6 MONTHS TO HAVE IT RESIZED FOR $55! I don't know what's true anymore. I ask again about why the sizing was wrong. They put me on hold. They come back and say that I can pay $100 for a rush order, but with no guarantee it will be ready for my wedding. Otherwise wait 6 MONTHS. I just say okay. Hang up the phone and just cry. The next day I go and just take the ring back. I don't even know what to do anymore. I will never be using them again and this has tainted the happiest day of my life. Update: manager called me and they have rush ordered a new ring in the correct size to be delivered 3 days before the wedding, at no charge to us.
