I've been seeing Dr. Baker for all my life. My oarents have gone to him before he started running the place and just graduated. We always recomend him to any friends in need of a better vet and his work is absolutely perfect. I'm a recent high school graduate and I'm pursuing my dreams in hope to become a succesful veterinarian myself. I have job shadowed Dr. Baker and Dr. Kua. It's a great environment around here. Also the assistant Carmen is so extremely nice. Just if you didn't know, they have to office cats in the back named, Lily and Moby. Hehe. They are so cute. Everything about Bartlett Animal Hospital is great. The front desk employees are always super nice and helpful. They have flexible hours and always able to get us an appointment when needed (even on short notice). There occasionally is an adorable German Shepard sitting in the chair, waiting to help. We have seen several providers here and they were all very good. However, Dr Nelson stands out. She is so caring and honest. Every time my pup has issues, she gives us several options to choose from. She is never pushy and gives us the option to choose how to care for him. She is not about pushing high priced tests; she is honest and gives appropriate options. She also follows-up to check on us. I was referred to them over 3 years ago by my dog's then foster mama. I LOVE them! They're so fantastic - always able to get my boy in the same day. Today we met with Dr. Baker and he was the sweetest. All of the doctors there are very nice, but Dr. Baker was the BEST! Brought my dog in to fix his wounds (why we initially went in) then got all of his vaccines up to date and an exam. Dr. Baker I think gave me a deal - I was so worried it would be so expensive, but it was only a little over $200! I want to start out by saying that I have been to 4 different vets for my cat and none of them actually were able to help him out. EXCEPT THIS VET! One of cats suffers from constipation issues. He got bound up and I brought him to Dr. Baker. Very nice man with patience, understanding, and kindness. He helped my cat feel better and even got his diet changed so he would have less of this problem. I just want to say, my cat hasn't been this content and playful in months! Previous vets just kept telling me to use miralax and my cat is "just one of those cats that may need miralax forever". While miralax is great and helpful it wasn't what my cat needed. Initially I liked the place when all we needed were wellness checks and vaccines. Once our dog became senior getting appointment when we need was impossible. Every time I called they told me the next available appointment is in 6-8 weeks. Useless When your dog is sick. My dog was very sick and I begged them to see him, all they could do is refer me to emergency vet. At the same time my neighbor was able to make appointment for the next day. The difference is that they purchase all preventatives from the BAH ( I ordered them online) and always agree to all recommended tests and procedures, so definitely a more profitable client. I understand that veterinary practice is a business, but I would still expect some compassion for sick animals. read more

So I have been with this vet clinic since 1991. Found out yesterday after a 900 dollar ridiculous bill for my dog that the clinic is corporate owned. Rather passed that one of the previous owners I saw two days prior didn't say anything. It's been since the fall! So the receptionist kindly gave me corporate contact information. We have been bringing our dog, Milo, here since he was a puppy. The staffs are super friendly. The vet techs are amazing with our dog, because he tend to be scared around new people. They really know how to make him feel at ease and comfort his anxieties. Dr. Siebert is caring and super helpful with any questions we may have. Since this is our first puppy, we had sooo many random questions we would ask her in terms of feeding, grooming, and training. She would always answer them and give us suggestions and tips. She would make Milo calm before his check up or shot. She even called us after hours an allergic reaction incident to see how Milo was doing. Dr. Baker did the neuter procedure for Milo. He did a really good job because Milo recovered at a reasonable time and his wound healed up pretty well. We know we're in good hands with all of the doctor and vet techs here. Dr Baker, the other doctors and the staff are awesome! I'm so glad that so many people referred us to this vet! We adopted our puppy from Second City and had a coupon for a free visit to a vet that was farther away. They were nice but I wanted a vet in Bartlett. There are so many! But then 5 people mentioned Dr Baker, so I brought her there for her second visit. She fell asleep after her shots! He's so gentle with her and he answered all of my questions (I had A LOT of questions). We've been going there since, I've met many of the staff and 3 of the doctors - she's a husky/ shepherd mix, so she swallowed lots of things as a puppy. Dr. Baker is a wonderful veterinarian and surgeon. He provided care for two of my parents dogs, during a time when my Dad was ill. In fact, Dr. Baker took one of them in, for 3 weeks, during Dad's 3 week hospitalization. That, for our family, was unbelievable. It spoke to a level of compassion and empathy that you don't often see in the veterinary community and for our family, it meant so much. The staff was kind and courteous. My pets have seen every doctor at Bartlett Animal Hospital, and we have been pleased with every one of them. I think their knowledge and care for your four-legged family members is top notch. In one situation our dog was declining rapidly due to medication for the heart deteriorating the kidneys. Dr. Nelson worked her network of other doctors to see other options we could use. Thankfully her research paid off and we were able to enjoy our dog for a while longer vs. the path we were originally on. I have not idea how this place when from all about the love and care for our little friends to don't care, lost x-rays, and after six visit and many$$$$$ later, our little one was misdiagnosed, thanks GOD that we decided to take him to a different vet and he is getting the right treatment. After being disappointed with our previous vet for various reasons we moved our senior cat under Dr. Kenecht's care at Bartlett Animal Hospital. It was the best decision we made though I wish I made this move earlier. Dr. Kenecht is kind and a good listener. Our cat was in extreme pain and dehydrated and has other elements due to being diabetic. The doctor upfront mentioned all the tests that she would like to run and gave us alternatives to run the blood work outside at a fraction of the cost. The meds really helped. At this point we just want to provide all the comfort and not do anything invasive. She completely understood our point of view and never made us feel like we don't care about the well being of our pet. I would highly recommend this place. read more

I've always loved this vet and Dr Baker and Dr Nelson have been very helpful for nearly 12 years of our dog's life. Today Willie was seen by Dr Dzika - and as many pet owners know there is a certain trepidation when going to see a new doctor. I am so happy we were introduced to Dr Dzika! I'm writing a second review simply because I am so appreciative of the extremely knowledgeable, highly experienced & compassionate vets at Bartlett Animal Hospital. Drs Nelson & Baker have treated all 3 of my dogs for the past 20 years ( Willie, my Bichon Frise, had to be euthanized at almost 18 years of age because his quality of life had so deteriorated. Dr. Nelson was so caring & compassionate during the procedure & had written us a beautifully written condolence letter. That's caring.) What prompted this review was Dr. Nelson's recommendation that we take Hugo - our 2 1/2-year-old French Bulldog -to an ophthalmologist to rule out a cataract in his left eye. We brought Hugo into Bartlett Animal Hospital for an unrelated issue a few months ago but as Dr. Nelson was examining him, she suddenly turned off the lights & examined his eyes. After which she told us she thought he had a cataract & we should see a specialist. We just returned from the University of Wisconsin Veterinary School hospital where Hugo underwent dilation & all the usual ophthalmological testing. He was diagnosed with an almost microscopically small cataract in the left eye ( no surgery yet!) & we were instructed to return in one year or earlier if we saw any sudden changes. This is a cataract that is hardly visible to the naked eye yet Dr.Nelson caught it. That's a sharp vet. I wouldn't take my dogs ( we have 2 French Bulldogs) anywhere else ( unless it's for specialized care that's beyond the scope of their practice). Thank you Dr.Nelson! This review has been a long time coming. I began taking my 3 year old Shih Tzu to Dr. Nelson back in 2002. She is fantastic and always has time to answer all questions. I moved from the area in 2008 but would still take my guy in for visits when time allowed as I was far from her location. The Summer of 2015 my guy began to run into health issues, Dr. Nelson or Dr. Baker would take my call and give me their thoughts. I took him there a last time in the fall of 2015, she was elated to see us as we felt the same. Unfortunately time ran out on my friend early 2016. A month later I set up an appointment with Dr. Nelson, not telling her what occurred. She opened up her arms for me, we went over what transpired and she shed her experiences, it was phenomenal. If you go to here DO NOT SEE Kenneth Geoghegan. This one star rating is directed towards him, not the other vets or vet techs. My family and I have two issues we'd like to address. First off, my cat would be dead right now if I would have listened to him. I brought my cat in on monday for being lethargic and not eating. He did not instruct me in anyway to get food or water into her. All he did was say he thinks that there is a larger problem and he wanted to sedate her for bloodwork. He scheduled this for Thursday. I rushed her to another vet tuesday and they told me if I had waited another hour she would be dead. It blows my mind that he was okay with waiting so many days. Another problem I have is when we took our older cat with liter box issues in. We ran a lot of tests and he came back healthy. His suggestion was to put down the cat. We almost listened to him. Thank god we didn't and have been able to google solutions to keep him from peeing on the couches. He did not offer any piece of advice on ways we could prevent him from going. If you do decide to go here (they are reasonably priced) I would ask for Dr Baker or Dr Knecht. read more
