The guy who said I wasn't eligible was extremely rude, but after consulting with the state, found out that I was right. I do not recommend this office. They were great until they were purchased by Paul Hood. Another small business that got greedy.

I brought my tax documents to PaulHood's local office and paid for 5 sets of returns in…read moremid-February, 2025. I was never told that the returns would not be prepared by April 15. It was the beginning of August before all returns were filed. Many mistakes were made. Two of the returns had to be amended. I was forced to pay interest and penalties because of the late filings, as well as the cost of certified mailings because the office manager gave me erroneous information about being able to pay the balance due on trust returns through IRS.gov. One of their mistakes caused the IRS to levy invalid penalties and interest on the trust returns. Since August I have spent 1 day a month on the phone with the IRS (each call involves an average hold time of 2 hours; with repeated disconnections and callbacks it can amount to 6 - 10 hours). I finally resolved one trust in October and the other trust in January. These problems are just the tip of the iceberg. PaulHood utilizes a "team management approach," which means that no one takes responsibility for anything. Everyone fingerpoints and passes the buck to someone else. You can speak with customer service representatives, but must communicate with the tax professionals by email. Most of the customer service representatives are new employees hired at the beginning of the tax season. While some are good, most are frazzled and never get back to you as promised. The same goes for the so-called tax professionals. When responses are forthcoming, it generally takes weeks or months. The CPA who had signature authority over my returns was a new hire who lasted less than a year with PaulHood. PaulHood is a nightmare to be avoided at all costs.
