Love the ambience and the great service. The fish tacos were amazing. The menu has many creative tacos to try. They also have a poke bowl.

Upon my arrival at Bartaco, I immediately had high expectations. The restaurant itself is decorated well, and makes for a fun dinner time environment. However, the food could not be any more different. I ordered chicken tacos and chorizo tacos. Frankly, I didn't even want to eat them after the first bite. They were flavorless. I thought adding some of the sauces on the table might help the taste, but boy was i wrong. I tried one of the three sauces and it was too spicy to even eat. The service was fine, it's just the food that was the issue. Overall I probably will not be returning to Bartaco because the food was just not worth the money or the crazy wait to even be seated. read more

If its your first time try: Pork belly taco Falafel I didn't like the duck or the churizo, both where under-seasoned Tacos are super small at almost $4 a pop read more

Had the ____ Sunshine cocktail and margarita. Strong but just tasted like tropical juice - dangerous and yummy! Tacos were small, so appreciate the waitresses tip to get 3 to 5. If you're picky about what's on them, you have to ask because the menu does not state. I did the kids menu tacos which are the same size but plain- just meat and cheese read more

Enjoyed Bartaco on a Friday night, with friends, for the first time since it opened. We are Cali transplants who felt like fish out of water there (and we love the south!!) but tacos are tough to love in the area. We were able to call in and put our name in ahead of time as long as we showed up by a certain time- love this! It is a new restaurant so the wait can be long especially on the weekends and let's face it, time is precious! Big thumbs up here! Mickey was fantastic, talked us through the menu, made great recommendations, and we are sad to know she's down from Chapel Hill to assist and won't be a regular face on the team!! Most of the others on the team were really great and friendly too! The food: it was really good!! The tacos are small (think street tacos) but yummy! Our favorites were the duck (I don't typically like duck y'all!), the Baja fish taco, the pork belly taco. Our friend got the tuna which looked delish...will have to give it a try next time. We all agreed the ribeye was a salt bomb. We love flavor but this was a bit overdone. The meat was tender but salted well and the kimchi is salty too so it just didn't work like we'd hoped. It needs a little green (cilantro?) or something else to help counterbalance the salt content. Tacos could also be plated better for certain- we were told they are working in this. The kale salad was great, and fresh, and street corn was good. Guacamole and chips were pretty good too. The Winter Caiperina was excellent! It's hard to find a great Caiperina- way to go Matt! Food ordering happens on a card, the food delivery is done family style so it can cause a bit of confusion tbh! It would be better if they just plated tacos per the card and delivered them to that guest. The receipts were off too and charges were messed up which was surprising but we made it. Mickey was off by the end of our meal so it may have been due to the transition but once this process is shored up paying will be a bit less clunky. Definitely a great spot to enjoy with friends for a fun night out! read more

LOVED this place! The ambience was perfect, great lighting, chill vibes but still with a slightly fine dining feel. Fine taco dining that you can bring your kids to. They had a great kids menu. My favorite part was all the small dishes you can order so you can try a bunch of different things. Also, the prices were really reasonable! My 7 year old and I loved it! Plus there was no servers, you order and pay through the QR code, which was awesome. Two thumbs up! read more

THE food was GREAT - but everything was so spicy. And I know that the upcoming of technology is the order mobile app from the table but I still like the personality of the wait staff and talking to someone. read more

Slow service, tiny portions, food took a long time, drinks were way overpriced and small. Not going back.

Today is all about service and the experience I had with the manager today. I gave this establishment five stars yesterday and totally enjoyed the food on my birthday. It was a memorable thing. When I got home, I discovered what I brought home was very greasy-looking and small for the $8.15 charge. I called ahead and told him I was returning it the next day or so depending on the weather. I did bring it in the next day and the manager said that he was there yesterday but didn't recall me until I showed him the receipt to prove it. So he asked me how did I want them to rectify it and I said whatever would accommodate the amount that I was credited with. He said that since I was not charged because of a gift card, he could give me that in coins. I said that was fine, but he became very irritated for some reason so I asked him why was he getting irritated and he told me he had just told me three times and asked me did I want the coins? I said yes, but I won't be back because of my treatment. Then he walked away and kept the coins and I said I still deserve the coins but after I use them, I won't be back because of his bad treatment. Service is important to me. I assured him I gave stellar reviews the day before, because the wait staff and everyone was beautiful to me the day before. By the way, I had my six-year-old grandson with me and he saw how some adults behave badly. read more

We loved it!!! We definitely will be going back! Great food and excellent drinks! The tacos were the bomb! read more

I usually love bar tacos but this experience was terrible. The wait staff was not organized, they were all over the place and all super young. All our tacos and food was cold and super spicy (even if it didn't have a heat symbol next to it). It's like the kitchen cranked up the notch on heat on everything, it was inedible. Then we had a toddler with us, it took them over 30 min later to bring out her food (after we asked them 3 times) and it came out burnt. It wasn't even a weekend day so the service/our experience shouldn't have been like this. We were all very disappointed. read more

Great flavors especially that pork belly taco!! Service was great and drinks are fresh. Yes, it's a little pricey but worth it.

Out of all Bartaco locations I know all around the country where everyone is friendly and nice this one is horrible. Including the hostess that worked this Sunday read more

Delicious food, small portions so you can try a variety of tacos. Nice environment and friendly staff.

Absolutely unacceptable! We've been waiting 40 minutes for a simple ceviche appetizer. This should have been premade, so there's no excuse for such a long delay. We're extremely disappointed with the service. read more

Love this place! We have been many times in Tampa, but we were skeptical if this new location would be as good. It rocks! The spicy marg is just so good. Expensive as heck for a tiny drink but worth it for the taste. The salsa/guac trio is awesome - definitely start with this.the pork belly taco is our favorite this last time. I'm previous visits we love the steak taco, but it was quite bland this visit. We'll try again. The chili lime shrimp is delicious. Next time I'll probably order multiple pork belly because it's that good. Service is quick and friendly. We'll be back soon! read more

I think this is the worst food I have had in the Davidson area. DO NOT COME HERE!!! The chorizo tacos tasted like dog food. The tacos are completely unseasoned and have barely anything included on them. In addition to the food being terrible, the service isn't fantastic and the order system is needlessly challenging. I don't usually leave reviews, but please for you sake, do not come here!!! read more

Terrible non courteous staff that profiled us. We were clearly not wanted and welcome. Not going back again

Waaaaaayyyyyyy overrated! Food is just mid! You're paying for the location, but certainly not to have a good meal.

Nice addition to Birkdale! We were hoping to sit outside as they have a beautiful outdoor area but it was cold and windy so we will leave that for another visit. We went on Friday evening and got on the waitlist on the app. Even though you do that you need to let the hostess know once you arrive (before they text you). This was not clear on the app so I am glad we did that instead of just walking around waiting! We waited at the bar and had some wonderful margaritas. The drinks were fresh and delicious! I highly recommend the Oaxacan Sunshine with the chia seeds! We were seated and versed on the order system. Service was pretty scarce as you place your own order and pay with a QR code...the only thing we asked a human for was extra chips (the initial serving was not enough for the trio of salsas/guacamole) and that did not arrive until we asked twice. Food came out at all different intervals but the tacos were good..enjoyed the pork belly more than the fish (would be better if not fried). In the future I will revisit for drinks and apps and go elsewhere for a dinner out...it felt very fast food like with everyone getting their food and eating at different times and dealing with the app to get anything additional. 18% is added to everything...even with the lack of service. Ambiance, food and drinks were good..service absolutely non existent....3 1/2 stars would be accurate. read more

The food was tasty and the service was adequate. The biggest issue is lack of menu choices.

Good quality and overall process was terrible All of our food came out at best lukewarm and at worst cold and the fish was really fishy. I wish it could be better but as of now we would not return. One positive was the effort our wait staff put in was great. read more

My daughter loves this place so when we were down in Birkdale, I said let's go get some takeout from them. First off I walk into the place and the design and environment is so inviting whoever did the design of everything in this restaurant went all out it has such a great feel you step in and you're not at the Birkdale shopping. You're just in some other world. We got the Street corn off the cob (esquites) and an order of tres leche. We Walked right up to the takeout area placed the order, they very friendly efficient. And it was very busy in the restaurant. Tge tres Leche comes in this cute little glass jar and it's the best tres leche I have ever had. Some tree Leche is just too sweet, and this was just the perfect texture and sweetness . The street corn so fresh simple tasty not heavy we loved it. I wish I took pictures of our food but we dug in immediately and it was gone before we could take a snap. Next time! read more

We've been there quite a few times now and they never disappoint. We've officially have had every taco on the menu and a few of the sides such as the Mexican street corn and the quac and salsa trio. And the most impressive thing of all is that there finally a place in the area who knows how to make an amazing Margherita. 10s across the board and it's def worth the wait time to be seated. read more

Kind of reluctant to share because we love it so much, but Bartaco is my go to place for Mexican and margaritas in the Huntersville area. The food never disappoints (don't miss the street corn which is delicious on everything, including the kale salad!) Be sure to sit at the bar and ask for Jaquan, because he is the best! He makes the best drinks and so friendly and knowledgeable. read more

Birkdale Village Huntersville, NC A big rip-off!! First and last visit here. I went for lunch. Nice vibe, okay service. The gazpacho was terrible. It tasted like a bowl of tomato sauce with a few zucchini pieces, no other vegetables and covered with croutons. Only one of the three tacos had sufficient fillings. That's why I gave it a 1 star. The chilled lobster taco was delicious. The shrimp taco had 3 tiny shrimp and a spicy sauce and three pieces of cilantro. It was a joke. The warm lobster taco was tasty but barely a bite of lobster. With tip, $24.00. And I had a small glass of water, so no drink charge. I've enjoyed many "small plate" venues, but this is a taco restaurant. I eat out often, and was excited to have a new restaurant at Birkdale Village, but this was so very disappointing. read more

I had a great time all around. They have a really cool margarita bar, a great patio as well. Food and service were great.

Very disappointing. Hostess was very attentive but she was the only good part of our experience. Outdoor table was gritty and dirty; tacos for two people served at two different times; soup was not served until 15 minutes later(after asking again) and was only slightly warm at best. I would not recommend spending your money here. read more

Went here to enjoy a nice dinner date. The food the was great got 3 different tacos. The drink was below average. Espresso martini and it tasted like cheap vodka and watered down. Lastly the service was not great. Our server came up to us once and then never returned. She never asked if I wanted a second drink, more tacos or just checking in. We had to ask someone else for our check and still our server never came back. Would have been a nice night if it weren't for the terrible server:( read more

Extra small taco's all with the same spice and flavor. Margaritas had a hint of heat but it wasn't a pleasant spice but more of a coverup spice so you couldn't really enjoy it. Didn't give it a 1 star because the architecture is pleasant to look at. Would not recommend. read more

Great staff and food!! The chicken and pork belly tacos are very tasty.. I also always order sweet plantains and street corn with my order..

Delicious tacos! We love this place. They really care about the quality of the food. The customer service is amazing! Don't miss out on the rice bowls. I don't know what it is about the rice they use, but YUM! read more

Absolutely awful experience, and no acknowledgement from the manager whatsoever. The Pros: The food and drinks were very good, and the service at the bar while we were waiting for our table was good The Cons: I have been to 3+ Bartaco locations and this one has a LOT of kinks to work out before they measure up to the other locations. We were a group of 10, we ordered by filling out the paper menus (as opposed to QR code) and were told to put our names at the top of our paper menus so they could bring the food out to the right person. That did not work whatsoever. They brought food out and said a name that was not associated with that specific order many, many times. We ended up just having them drop most of the food off and we figured out where it was supposed to go. Very frustrating when we had followed the instructions to put our names on the paper tickets. Even at a restaurant where they do "seat numbers" they get it right.. this Bartaco really missed the mark. Our food came out over the course of about 20+ minutes, so some people were completely done eating before the others even got their food. While eating, our service was abysmal. We had to flag down our server for drinks twice, and both times she took 1-2 orders and then ran off, leaving our other guests empty on drinks repeatedly. When we finished our meals, we sat with empty plates stacked on the table for 10 minutes with 5-6 people cleaning tables around us, standing around talking, no one offering to clear our table or ask if we need anything else before checks. I flagged down the manager after about 15 mins and mentioned we had been done for awhile and were ready to close out. If then took FORTY MINUTES for them to separate our checks into 4 checks. Not individual, 4 checks. Everyone's ticket had a name on it and they asked which names were together. To separate them it took FORTY minutes, and no acknowledgement or apology from the manager whatsoever. He saw us, he saw the frustration, and chose to walk right past. After all of that, the checks still came out wrong. We ended up just sending each other money via Venmo/cash to make up for it. Bartaco Huntersville - you've got some work to do. And at the very least, when you mess up, acknowledge it. Do better read more

Who knows if this place is good, because it's a miracle if they choose to seat you! Went in at 7:30(no reservations) and they told us that a party of 2 would be a 3.5 hour wait! We thought, "okay, not ideal. But it is Saturday rush for dinner". So we keep walking and we see the open patio and doors into the dining area. We were shocked to see half of the restaurant empty! They just weren't letting anyone else in. So we thought, " okay, maybe they're short staffed". But get this, 3 waiters were standing in the outside area doing nothing for a solid 10 minutes while we tried to figure out where to eat. They were just talking to each other and singing the music out loud while the hostess was turning away group after group. Terribly managed and unfortunate for birkdale, they could've done great here. Also seems that this is a common occurrence, as other reviews are saying a similar thing. read more

The atmosphere and decor are beautiful and the waitstaff and management wonderful. I had the ranch water, and the cocktail was fresh and delicious. I would return for this cocktail alone. The trio of guacamole and two salsas were delicious as were the street corn -- a must have if you like spicy. The street tacos were good with average filling. I had the mushroom and duck. read more

The place is very well decorated with a fun baja feel. The ordering is either on your phone or by a paper order where you can mark which tacos or bowls you want. The salsas were very flavorful and the ranch water was delicious. It's well priced and the staff was very attentive. Overall it was a great experience once you get the process down. read more

(Writing on behalf of a loved one) They say quality over quantity, but when it comes to Mexican cuisine and Mexican adjacents, quantity is of higher priority. A man of labor and locomotion requires a meal. Not a Mexican tea sandwich. When he picks up that silver tray every vein in his forearm should be bulging through his angelic white skin. His bicep should be flexed as he uses every ounce of strength to lift his dinner. When a man walks out that door his carnivorous desires should be fully satisfied. This is not the case at bar taco. We'll be sticking to the bojangles 4pc chicken sumpreme combo from here on out. But if this establishment can get an increased circumference on the tortilla and stuff some more meat in there, we can renegotiate. read more

Got to say this place was fire. As a native Texan I have high taco standards, Bar Taco didn't disappoint. The trio chips and salsa/guacamole was solid, nice salsa flavors. The oyster, fish and shrimp tacos were very good. Chicken was my fav. Ribeye was just ok. The manager was a stud. Atmosphere was fantastic.
