Colma is my favorite BART station to park at and take the train into the city coming from San Jose when I don't want to take public transportation all the way from the South Bay. The parking garage is big and always has a multitude of spots, oftentimes right across from the station entryway which is conveniently directly attached to the garage. Take a short escalator down and you're right in the center of the station. It's 10-20 minutes on BART into SF (depending where you're going) from Colma, avoiding city driving and expensive parking without having too much of a ride in and back. On the weekdays parking is $3 through the BART app (prefill your car information to avoid getting held up) and free on weekends and holidays. Relatively clean and easy to navigate station. There's a machine you can purchase Clipper cards at or refill your card without hassle, check the fare calculator but for a non-discounted ride to Civic Center in SF it's $4.50 at the moment one way. Red and yellow lines frequently stop here, though you will have to transfer at another station for other lines. Just an all around nicely maintained station that I recommend especially if you are parking and riding into the city and are looking for an easy experience. read more

PARKING ($3) The parking garage fills up a little after 9:00AM Monday to Thursday. On Mondays it is definitely the heaviest day; you should probably come by 8:30AM to secure a spot. Fridays less people go to work less of a rush there. Reserved parking on the first and second floors become available after 10:00AM, if your job allows you could plan to come later in the morning to get those parking spots (which are closer to the BART entrance too). Lots of bird poop in certain spots, so beware! Be careful around the turns, you might not see a car coming from the other direction. They do check for parking/payments often here. I see them checking cars often in the mornings. Word of advice to the BART parking checkers though...don't check cars in a parking section that isn't full yet since people are still pulling in. Once I got a ticket maybe 45 seconds after I parked. I paid for parking 30 seconds after the ticket was given to me. (I didn't see it until the evening). It was just annoying that I then needed to spend my time to fight the ticket. Get a EZRider account so you can pay with Clipper Card. If the parking garage fills up the Samtrans parking lot is across the street, also for $3. They accept credit cards as well. Longer walk to get to the station but at least you got a parking spot! ATTENDANTS The attendants are very pleasant and always willing to answer my random questions about parking or losing an item! BATHROOMS Often 1 will be out-of-order. The other bathroom exists for emergencies but the last 2 times I went there was no soap :( THE STATION Also a lot of bird poop recently. On weekday mornings trains to SF come every 7 minutes, so you're never waiting for too long. If you go one more spot North (Daly City) the trains come even more often, but their parking lot fills up way too early. Depending on what train you catch, you may get a seat. In the 8-8:30AM time range there is more people. By 9:00AM you could get a seat in the Antioch line, but maybe not the Richmond line since a lot of commuters get on the train in Millbrae. LOCATION Good location directly off the 280 freeway. Cheap gas stations nearby. In&Out nearby. read more

Plenty of parking spaces due to the large parking structure and overflow parking lot next to Serra Bowl. When it opened, it was a relief since it took a lot of commuters that usually went to the Daly City BART Station and alleviated a lot of the congestion there. This location is very convenient since it's close to everything, and also a good walking distance from where da wifey works. But think about this: This is in Colma, where there are more dead people than living. The tunnel goes underground to where the cemeteries are located. I've been coming to this location since I was a teenager which is pretty much since this place has been built. I find that this location is much much cleaner then other locations that I have been too. Due to its location so far away from the city, the amount of traffic that comes this workstation isn't nearly as much as the BART stations in San Francisco. So the busy times for this station are in the morning from 7 AM to 11 AM, and again from 4 PM to 7 PM. it's pretty busy because of Bart and Samtrans buses that can take you to vast amounts of locations. From the San Francisco to all the way by SFO. Samtrans is the local public transportation for the Daly City/South San Francisco area. I design benefit that I really appreciate about the Colma BART station is the fact that the train area and the parking structure is connected by an air walkway/ bridge. That means no need to worry about rain or the coldcold-weather because you're completely protected from the elements. Definitely a plus when living in the Daly City area because it's always cold and foggy here. Although the place is cleaner than most of the stations that I've been to, there are still some places where it needs to consistently be taken care of. Especially on the main floor or third floor parking structure were birds have made their home there because there's tons of bird poop and feathers all over the ground. Another issue is the fact that there is gum everywhere from people who don't know how to throw it away properly. Just one of my many pet peeves that I have against dirty public locations. So with lots of public parking and a relatively clean environment, I think this Bart station is a plus. It has a lot of comforts that most places don't especially the fact that it doesn't smell like urine and have homeless people everywhere. So I like using this bar station because of convenience and most of all comfort. read more

I love the idea of taking public transit and saving the Earth. But this station makes it really hard to do so. Taking the Bart is much more expensive than I had anticipated. Its almost $10 each day for me to go from Daly City to downtown SF with parking. Ecks! The Bart station is really outdated. They really need to spend some money on his place. It boggles my mind how they can charge so much and not keep this place up. There is always something broken here. Leaky roof, escalators that won't work, elevators that are out of service, ticketing machines are down, etc. Its a nightmare. If the parking lot is full, and it does get full if you come after 9am, then you can park down at the SamsTran parking but those machines are also broken all the time so you have to wait at least 15 minutes to pay. Then you have to walk across a long bridge to the Bart station. This station is also pretty gross. There is bird poo everywhere and feathers all over the place. I always have to watch my step to avoid rusty old puddles that look like mini swamps. I really hope they make improvements soon. read more

Trains run well parking is hell! I had to be somewhere by 6pm tonite and have been sitting in a non moving parking jam on floor 5 for 15mins. Pop for prepaid daily parking or forget trying to get out of here before 6pm. This ruined my great day. read more

Generally pretty good station. I can typically find parking on mornings when I arrive by 8:30-9 (straight to the roof). But it can be inconsistent for planning because some days it is packed really early in the morning. Of course plenty of parking on the weekend, but then there are hardly any trains, and are sometimes way behind schedule (like skipping one train, finally catch the next one). But most of the time, no problem. Easy to get from roof to scan card (+pay for parking) to train to the city. Remember your parking number and to have small bills or quarters to pay for parking (after you enter turnstile pay gates, at the machines). There is a change machine, but you need to use it before you enter the turnstile gates. When you get on at Colma, you can get a seat before the trains are packed too. Note that some of the southbound trains from SF only go as far as Daly City, so you might have to wait a few extra minutes for a return train. read more

This BART station is my favorite. It is clean, it's safe and parking is EASY and after 3 or on weekends parking is free. I very rarely use BART but when I do this is where I go, I'll just drive in, park, grab a ticket and go. I don't feel the need to clutch my purse to my body as I walk inside. The staff who work here are so friendly, I've never had any issues. Yesterday I arrived early and was seated outside and freezing cold I decided to run home and get my jacket and I had no issue getting a re-entrance without having to pay again, they were so great about it. I would recommend this BART station over any other if it's convenient for you. read more

Hey gang, I've been using this Bart station for as long as I can remember, and I have to admit, it by far is one of the cleanest Bart stations out there. I also do like how the parking structure is connected to the terminal by the hip - that you need not worry about having an umbrella as you do for the Daly City Station. the parking structure needs a big sweep through as there are a few places where birds are nesting (along the stairs, 3rd floor) and there's a lot of gum that has been just spit and just warped into the floor pattern. Otherwise, I've seen the water guys come around and clean that up on occasion. Definitely a good thing. The platform can get a bit windy, and it's probably a 50-60% chance throughout the year that you are standing in fog, so dress warmly, and I hope you're lucky that you get the new trains with new seats and no carpet. And for an extra bit of little-known trivia, the station is actually located in the unincorporated village of Broadmoor, which is why the station is patrolled by Broadmoor PD instead of Colma PD. read more

What used to be the end of the line before the SFO extention was introduced not too many years ago, this station is/was one where many commuters would park their cars and then BART into the city. The station is usually maintained well and, from what I recall, is clean and safe. Not really sure what there is to do near the station as the only thing I even know about Colma is that the population of corpses, in graves, far outweighs the current living. read more

I have mixed feelings about this station. On one hand, it's relatively clean (i never smell urine) and the layout is well organized. I like the bus lot outside. On the other hand, for some reason, there is always something going on here. I've been here twice during a suicide (thank g-d i didn't personally witness it) and then it's such a nightmare to get to my destination. I know it's not their fault though, just warning fellow yelpers. Open roof, pigeons like to come in and take a dump or peck at crumbs. read more

This is one of the best stations. The entire facility looks clean and it's mostly quiet. Only busy time here is morning and late afternoon rush hour commute. There are SamTrans bus stops across the street. A Parking Garage and SamTrans Park and Ride Lot available as well. read more

Convenience for me is great. However this station has declined in so many ways. It's fairly new, opened in 1997, and not 100% utilized. The station is filthy, disgusting. There is a major pigeon problem there and it grows each year as the pigeon flock grows and procreates. They infiltrate all aspects of the station whether it's their feces covering parking spots, stairs, walls or feathers floating around. It's just plain gross. I've complained to the main email line to Bart but either get no response or am told Bart has more important things to focus on. Also the ones that get run over by cars NEVER get picked up. They just continually get smushed into the concrete. It would make the strongest of stomachs retch. Ugh. Foul fowl. read more

Really clean BART station compared to some other ones in the city. It is definitely a lot emptier but it is not deserted or too scary. Daily parking costs $2 (cash/change only) on weekdays and free on weekends. Overall, for newcomers it is a pretty straightforward BART station to navigate. There is outdoor parking, but park in the structure since it is indoors and closer walking distance to the station. read more

Safe, well-run station that never gets crowded. Women's bathroom is clean. Men's bathroom is extremely disgusting, but I wasn't supposed to be in there anyway. SamTrans bus area is right outside, and there is also plentiful parking. My only problem with Colma Bart is the lack of enclosed/indoor space - sometimes my bus isn't coming for 15 minutes, and every corner of the place has chilly winds blowing through. My second week with my new job, which also means it's my second week of commuting! This BART station is pretty much my favorite one, for many reasons: 1. Samtrans parking is right next to it, and it's only $2 (compared to $3 at the station). One dollar might not seem like much, but it adds up if you commute daily! CASH ONLY 2. It's clean. Or, at least as clean as a BART station can be. Some stations smell like straight up toilet water, but this one for the most part is odor-free. Lol. 3. It's never really packed - I've never had to crowd around to get in or out of the train. So far, so good!! I'll update if anything changes. This BART station is my go-to when commuting into the city. I travel from San Jose, so I definitely prefer it's location off of traffic-free 280 versus, say, Millbrae BART's location off of traffic-clogged 101. The parking structure is HUGE, which makes finding a spot quick and easy throughout the morning. The station is pretty clean by BART standards -- even the bathrooms are occasionally well maintained! The architecture of the station isn't as nice as the one in South San Fran, though it does have somewhat post-apocolyptic aesthetics when approaching the towering concrete structure of the parking lot from the freeway, especially when it's socked in by fog. (Kind of an eerie sight when driving up to it in the morning, thus the reason for knocking off a star.) read more

Though I'd rather go to Millbrae given it's closer to where I live, I come here because there's less traffic on 280 and I can get here in the same amount of time (just a slightly longer drive) as opposed to Millbrae where traffic gets backed up going on 101. Also, since 2 lines of trains run through there toward SF, it means a shorter wait between trains (anytime before 7 pm) read more

This is a review for the whole Bart. Bart has wonderful front office staff always. Bart is great because of its accessibility and parking as well schedule. Bart needs to massively improve its cleanliness and need to enforce non loitering. It seems that on a daily basis the seats and floors do not get wiped or mopped as you can still smell in the morning and all day trace of all kinds of body fluids. Bart would need to enforce also the ridership of patrons with valid Bart tickets and rides to ensure that seats are available legitimately as well as passenger comfort and safety. There are no Bart inspectors checking tickets. Compared to the trains in Asia and Europe, Bart needs to be massively improved hygiene and cleanliness side and ridership with valid tickets. I would pay a little bit more to make this happen. read more

in all my years living in the bay, i'd never had a reason to come to this bart station, either as a passenger or driver to pick up a passenger. a couple of weeks ago, i came here to pick up my friend at the bart station and apparently my gps led me to the sam trans parking lot/bus depot. the address wasn't clear to the gps, and certainly not to me, so i ended up driving around in a couple of circles before i actually found the entrance to the bart station, and hence, the passenger pickup area. both the sam trans lot and bart station entrance had the familiar white bart station sign, but clearly the one in front of the sam trans lot was incorrect, b/c it was nowhere near the actual bart station/pickup area. this definitely made for a very confusing trip to this station. going forward, i'll be taking bart from daly city or another nearby station and advising my friends to do the same to save confusion. read more
