F45 Training Sugarhouse - Gym space + equipment (exercise bikes, kettlebells, Y-Bells, DBs, boxes)

F45 is a functional training gym that runs 45-minute workouts with high work-to-rest ratios (e.g.,…read more45 seconds work, 15 seconds rest, repeat). The workouts are programmed, so you follow the instructions given for each station, but the gym has plenty of equipment, so workouts change from day to day and don't get repetitive. Mondays & Wednesdays are cardio days (though you'll still have weighted exercises), Tuesday & Thursdays are strength days (think more weight and slower reps), and Fridays - Sundays are hybrid days (combo of strength + cardio). The workouts are very challenging and will have you gassed by the end, but they're only 45 minutes, and the coaches provide modifications, so you can power through! The equipment here is great and in good condition. This location recently opened a "Recovery Room" that offers massage guns, foam rollers, and compression boots to help your body relax and recover after tough workouts -- it's amazing! The only variable at F45 (which is probably true at most gyms) is the coach you have for your workouts. Tim (who coaches Mondays and Wednesdays) is super high energy, remembers your name, corrects your form, and will encourage and push you without being overbearing -- he's the best! Other coaches will walk around the room and help spot check your form on workouts, but won't provide much motivation. And at a couple of the workouts I've been to, the coaches have just stood and talked to each other (or people from the previous workout) for the full 45 minutes. To me, this last coaching style is unacceptable, and the one piece I wish I could change. Overall, I'm very happy with this gym and would recommend it to anyone looking to improve their physical health, especially those who have limited time to work out or don't know how/don't want to program their own workouts.

I worked out here for quite a while. I love the vibe and the owner. 10/10 recommend getting an…read moreunlimited membership here. Get it through the gym, not class pass imo. The trainers are great and will correct your form. If you go a lot, it's about $5 a class. This is a much better deal than ClassPass and it goes to a local business owner instead of a middleman.

I didn't have any negative experiences here, this style of workout space just wasn't particularly for me. When you're a member, you have access to the studio at any time. They have a variety of workout classes in private heated rooms throughout the studio, and you book your time and the workout that you want. Different rooms had different equipment - there was a room for yoga, a room for spin, etc. They want you to purchase one of their mats for the yoga because the sauna is too hot for regular mats. You can adjust the temperature of the room to your liking. I believe each workout was 15-20 minutes long in a heated sauna room. You definitely get your sweat on, that's for sure! The rooms are small, but I believe you can technically fit up to 3 people in each one. I would personally never want to share that small of a space with someone, though. They also have some gym equipment in the back of the gym for a regular, non heated workout. I prefer group workout classes because of the energy of the room. I know several people that swear by sauna workouts, though!

If I could give this place and their shady practices zero Stars I would. The facility itself is…read morefine as a gym and actually has some pretty intense and fun hiit sessions. The problem is a douche name Coach Cam who lures you in with a promise of this free 28 day fitness challenge. He asks you what your goals are, for me it was being able to do a pull-up. He writes that down and creates a contract. But I thought it was free? you ask. Oh of course it is but we need a deposit so that you have skin in the game. Wtf? Of course you'll get it all back he promises but we really hope youll want to stick around. Fast forward 28 days and I'm still not able to do a pull-up. But guess, what that was part of the contract?! You can't do a pull up so we're going to keep your deposit. Are you kidding?! I demanded the return of my deposit and told him as much as I might like to join this gym I'm already a member at another gym like I had told you before we started and I'm not in a position to consider another membership until that one expires. "Do you really think that's fair" says coach cam. "You got to work out here for free." Um Yeah, that was the deal, you smarmy *$$. He refused to give me my money back. Literally said no. Thankfully American Express has my back and they immediately opened an investigation and returned my money. Beware of these gyms and their predatory practices. When a gym claims your workout is free, it should be free. Period. Sign a liability waiver but don't sign a fraudulent contract meant to take advantage of someone excited to try a new gym facility.

HIGHLY recommend. Been coming here since 2020 and it's my favorite gym I've gone to. Great…read moreworkouts, great trainers. The results will speak for themselves.
