You are better off lighting your money on fire instead of contacting this company. I have only left positive reviews for companies on Yelp, but my awful experience with BARRY SERVICES (BARRY) has made me write this. On September 2, 2023, I reached out to BARRY regarding replacing my (stock) Precor 9.35 treadmill belt that had torn. This belt lasted since the treadmill was purchased in 2009. Right off the bat, BARRY not only wanted to replace the belt, but also pushed me to replace the deck. Even after finding out my make/model, BARRY "highly recommended" I replace the deck. Thanks to my own research, I realized my treadmill had a reversible deck (and it was never flipped before). This is something a company in the fitness industry should know about Precors, but clearly they wanted to make more money off of me. After I declined a new deck based off my research, BARRY charged me $461.48 for a new belt, with install. On September 26, 2023, BARRY replaced my treadmill belt. Unbeknownst to me, the belt I paid $461.48 for was a piece of junk. In addition, the technician trekked dirt/mud through my house, and left a screwdriver and a part of the treadmill underneath it. Fast forward five months, my belt was starting to bubble, it was causing a great deal of noise as it ran over the rollers in front and back, and then, not surprisingly, a hole formed (as pictured). I am the sole user of this treadmill. I use it two times a week and I'm a 120lb female. This is completely unacceptable considering my first belt lasted 14 years. I reached out to BARRY and they said they couldn't do anything without charging me to replace the belt. Do not trust this company with work or your money.

I have relied on Barry Services for nearly 30 years for my personal training business. They did regular maintenance for all my equiment, and alerted me to any issues that required further attention. I recently closed my third studio and had to sell and move many pieces of large equipment. Barry Morris was amazing! He helped me to price the equipment for sale, assisted buyers by disassembling and moving equipment to their homes and businesses, found a wholesaler to buy equipment that I could not sell myself and arranged for a recycler to take old equipment. I could not have managed this without him. Additionally, Barry was always responsive to my many questions throughout the process. I would highly recommend Barry Services.

Barry Services provided white glove service assembling a treadmill in my basement. The install team was professional and thorough and provided a short tutorial on use of the equipment. I highly recommend Barry Services and will use them again in the future should I have the need. read more

We used Barry's Services for disassembly/reassembly of our treadmill for a move last week within the city of Chicago, and they were very unprofessional. I requested an afternoon appointment for disassembly, and after several conflicting emails on the appointment time, I was stuck with a morning appointment, which was difficult on my family. The technicians who disassembled the machine went to the wrong address and behaved very unprofessionally. They also misplaced the power cord for the treadmill, and we still haven't found it. The technician who reassembled the machine also went to the wrong address. Then we were charged $125 for each trip, of which I was not made aware prior to the service. I was under the impression that the entire service would be $125, and was charged double. We will not be referring friends to their services. I should have used the company that delivered the treadmill when we purchased it instead. read more

This company provided us excellent service and communication, with good pricing. We moved from a house to a condo and had them come to professionally move and set up our exercise equipment , some of which was more complicated with computer chips etc. I emailed them pictures of what we wanted move, a picture of the stairs in the basement they would have to navigate, got a quote. They were very good about answering any questions and concerns and were easy to set a moving date. Once they arrived to move the equipment the 2 men were professional, knew how to quickly disassemble the equipment and navigate the basement stairs and a few turns to get into their truck. Once at the new address they were quick to move and set up the equipment, put everything back together and made sure it was working properly before they left. Why they have bad reviews - hard to understand. We agreed in advance what needed to be done, when, cost etc. I experienced none of the issues in the bad reviews. In fact if we have problems with our equipment I will call them for service with no concerns. read more

I have found no deals on any golf clubs here in the last 6 yrs. If I find a club I need to fill a broken set, it is always priced too high (they are higher than any other Play It Again Sports (PIAS) by 20-500% for exact match club brands) and they are unwilling to negotiate a lower price except by less than 5%. By comparison to other Play It Again Sports - Shaumburg, Crystal, I was able to purchase the 2 needed clubs at 25% and 16% of the "negotiated" price of an identical club at the Waukegan Ave PIAS store. I do not recommend this store for any golf items. I will never again go to this store for any reason. It is not worth the trip (25 mi.) to waste my time. DB

The last time I was in a DICK's, it was to buy a White Sox cap and it was a couple years back when they were doing a wee bit better than they are this year! The pricing here does generally seem a bit elevated but that comes with the brick-and mortar business and the privilege of inspecting what you're buying. Sometimes you can find a good deal in store and lately there have been better deals on shoes (Hokas, Nikes) then I've seen in other stores. I wanted to give a special shout out to the 'heavy lifting' crew that helped me with moving a ping pong table. They attempted to place it in my van every which way in the freezing cold, which was unfortunately too small. I came back the following day and a couple of the guys did remember me quickly brought out the table, and they were very friendly and extremely helpful.

I had an amazing experience with Barry Services! They delivered my workout equipment for my home gym with professionalism and care. From start to finish, their team was courteous, punctual and went above and beyond to ensure everything was set up perfectly. I was given a window of 12pm-4pm. I work from home and had some meetings that day so I informed them of that and they were willing and able to work with me on scheduling a time that best fit my schedule, which was much appreciated! I recently used Barry Services to purchase an elliptical and was highly impressed with their professionalism and customer service. They were prompt with delivery, arriving exactly when they said they would. While they initially offered to place the machine in my basement, I requested that it be left in the back of my house instead. After disassembling the elliptical to move it, I had difficulty reassembling it. I reached out to Barry Services, and they promptly came back to reassemble the machine at no additional charge. I cannot praise Barry Services and Barry Morris enough. I had a home gym that I wanted to donate to charity. I found Barry Services online and contacted them. From the initial email to followup calls Barry made the whole experience work. I say "work" because the charity to which I wanted to donate the gym didn't have a location for it. I tried to find another charity but didn't have luck until Barry stepped up and gave me a link to a charity he thought could use it. That didn't work. But that charity forwarded me to another charity which could use it! So Barry Services' crew came soon thereafter, dismantled the entire gym, removed it from my home and put it all back together in record time at the new charity. I had a great experience with Barry Service! I own a ten year old Lifefitness Treadmill model T3 that I've never serviced. The machine was making a bunch of strange noises including a buzzing sound. When I called them I was given a two hour window for the repair person to come out, the next day in the morning I received a call that the person will be at my home in thirty minutes. When he arrived he cleaned, inspected and lubricated the machine. I went on it last night and it runs like new, all the noises went away. I emailed Barry Services about moving my Vision Fitness S70 elliptical from my residence to another residence. Even during the holidays, Barry got back to me within a couple days of sending the request. The quote for tear down, delivery, and reassembling it was within the range I thought it might be... especially since it was coming out of a basement and going down to a basement.
