Jumped on a Consultation with Barry last week to ask him a couple of questions. Paid the $175 because I figured I'd spend the $$$ now & get educated instead of making a mistake & paying ten fold in the future. Barry is very knowledgeable & helpful. Let me begin by letting you know that I have used Barry's law office for unlawful detainers several times. Barry is great, he's a nice guy. Although, you will never meet him. The staff, they are very short and vague. Getting information from them is like pulling teeth, especially when it comes to Ramon. If you call he'll tell youthatyouyouneed to talk to someone else in the office? or he will tell you that that is a question for Barry. Although, you don't get to talk to Barry you only talk to him once after you pay the $175. 30 minute consult by phone. Although I have to say that I do win my cases. But seriously every time you call them they act like you're an inconvenience. I'd also like you to know that it's not like I call every day. I call once every week and a half to two weeks to see where we are on the case and at that they only allow you three calls to inquire about your case. You should also know that if you call and you state who you are and why you're calling, Ramon will put you on hold. If the call gets disconnected, he will not call you back despite the fact that he knows who you are what your name is, your phone number and what you're calling about. I mean, I cannot emphasize this enough once he told me that's a question to Barry. He stated nothing more. He was ready to hang up the call. So then I had to proceed with asking more and more questions until he finally got up and went to get some help. I would give it a five but they get three stars until Barry cleans's house. read more

We talked to Hartly, one of his worker, in person a couple times and over the phone many times ! He never charge us anything for it. Took the time to talk with my 87 year old father-in-law and kept us calm before the trial. He's very organized and knows his stuff! I also met another one of his clients in the court room. Do not use this law firm. This attorney has his legal assistant do all of the initial work. They overcharge, and probably charged us 350 to 400 an hour given the amount of work done. They are poor communicators of expectations, they outsourced the work and misled us on how much time it would take to file the paperwork and serve the tenant despite our continuing to tell them time was of the essence. Yes, the tenant moved out eventually and the law firm did not have to do anything other than turn this over to their outsourcer. We respectfully asked them to consider returning some of the money we paid. We were out a lot of money trying to evict the deadbeat tenant. The law firm is now refusing to return our messages. read more

Delay after delay after delay. After 3 day notice is served, first, it took 7 weeks to get to the court. At the court, lawyer highly advised to settle the case, and was told that it will take a couple of days after settlement date to execute the lock-out. Without settlement, I was told that it would have taken about the same amount of time or 3 weeks to get the writ of possession. That is ABSOLUTELY FALSE. After waiting for 30 days, tenant didn't move out, and I was told to expect another 3 weeks and counting, and is even more than if I had won in the court. If you work with this lawyer, you may expect about FOUR months total to kick your tenant out. And they obviously won't reimburse for all of the lost rent. Be aware!! When lawyers don't work out, are you going to sue them?? Updates. Tenant has stayed a total of 6 months free. They screwed up the paperwork to court, and paperwork was delayed by several weeks. They could not find the writ at the court, or so they claimed. It took about 2 weeks for them to "find" and pick up the writ. Scheduling and waiting for mails. Communication with sheriff appears to be poor, in my opinion. In total, because of two screw-ups in legal paperwork, and trying to find write for 2 weeks, tenant has been staying in there for a total of 6 months. They said these mistakes are honest human mistakes in their own words. read more

I had never been involved in a legal proceeding such as this so I was pretty lost and clueless, but Tina was very kind and understanding and explained everything to me in detail.
