If I could give zero stars, I would. This is no exaggeration. Mrs.Shaefer accepted my case only…read moreto give it little to no attention and then proceeded to treat me and my case as second rate with disrespect and she became surprisingly rude toward me and indifferent toward my concerns. She put little to no effort into my case and provided me with an extremely low figure in terms of the settlement that I could look forward to as a a result of her work. I question why anyone would take on a case if they are not going to care about it or put forth the proper due diligence. She almost never returned any of my calls (I left many messages for her either on her machine or with the administrative assistant), nor would be return my emails (she would respond to approximately 5% of my phone calls and about the same, if not less, with emails). Eventually, I got so fed up with being unattended to and the way I was being treated by this firm, that I even reached out to her colleague/supervisor who basically said that she was the best in the business and has always done her job and he then proceeded to just ignored the rest of my concerns. It was completely unacceptable. I couldn't believe that she would treat a client so poorly. I practically had no choice but to fire her as my attorney. I went with another firm, and the person at this new firm, was everything that Toby was not. He was attentive to my needs, he put the effort in to address my concerns as best as he possibly could and I could tell, easily, that he took my case seriously. In the end, the new attorney was able to get me, literally 5 times more money from the settlement than Toby's apparent "best effort". So, take from this what you will, but I will NEVER work with Toby Schaffer again, and I will warn everyone I care about, to also never work with her.
