His quote was very competitive and ended up being the best value compared to the other companies we contacted. The crew was prompt, professional, and easy to work with throughout the entire project. The quality of the work exceeded our expectations, and the entire project went very smoothly. We were so happy with the results that we asked them to complete additional areas of our home. They were able to quickly get more materials and seamlessly add the extra work to the project. We highly recommend Alfonso and his team to anyone looking for quality flooring, fair pricing, and excellent customer service. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out!

What a find! Holy cow. Thank you to previous reviewers…read more I needed to have my carpet stretched. I quoted a business which we had patronized before and they quoted me some sky high price. Nice people but I couldn't figure out how they come up with that price. I came across this yelp reviews and took a chance. I figured can't possibly be any worse. Mr. Kim responded immediately and we made an appt for the next day. He had Manuel came to see what needed to be done and he said no problem. He even said he was available the next day which was crazy, because we still needed to move our stuff out of the rooms. Mr. Kim came back with such a reasonable price for the job. Before they came we moved what we can, left the big items like beds, sofa, piano, shelving and futon. They said no problem. The day of work Manuel came with another worker, they took off their shoes and right to work. He had estimated 4 hours and sure enough he was done around 4 hours. Mind you we moved 90% of the stuff from the carpeting. I am so glad to have found them. I hope they continue to be in business, if I need any carpeting job I'll definitely call them back.

Although he later found the actual work more than what I verbally described, he still kept the same pricing and meanwhile very nicely offering his help on a few other obvious tasks by significantly saving my time to find other contractors to help. At the end Mr. Kim and his team was able to finish all the promised work very professionally, including beautiful carpet finishing, seamless wall painting touch and smooth toilet replacement, etc; I strongly recommend Mr. Young Kim and his team.

I bought a house earlier this year and wanted to do some improvements before moving in. I had four…read morebedrooms where I wanted to replace the carpet with some luxury vinyl plank. The rest of our house already had some laminate wood and tile flooring which I wanted to keep. I was looking for flooring that would match the color of the laminate wood floors of our hallway and living room. Sal-Hai was recommended by a friend for flooring services. I reached out via Yelp and got a response from the owner, JP, pretty quickly. He came to San Mateo from Hayward to take a look around our house and then came back another day to bring over many samples to color match our floors. I found that to be more efficient than me going back and forth to stores like Floor and Decor and Home Depot to try and find a match myself. JP found a sample that was very close to our existing flooring so we went with that. It only took about four days for our flooring project to be finished. JP had two other workers assisting him. They ripped out all our carpet and put the flooring and baseboard in. Our master bedroom had some sloping in the floor so JP worked to level it out before putting the new flooring on top. I impressed by the speed at which our project was completed. It's been a few months and we are thoroughly enjoying our new floors! The flooring seems to be holding up well. I did notice a very minor bouncy area in our master bedroom where the floor was supposed to be leveled and told JP about it after we moved in. However I didn't get a response after I requested him to look at it. I decided we can live with it and it doesn't seem to be adversely affecting the function of our floor. The only slight con I have to mention is the logistics of scheduling our project. I had to postpone our floor installation due to delays with some other house projects (permits and inspection scheduling were at peak delays during the pandemic). I had to make many calls and send multiple emails and texts to JP before we could reschedule our project. I did appreciate that he was able to squeeze in our project in between some big commercial ones he had on his calendar. Overall I will still go back to Sal-Hai if I need future flooring services and am happy to refer him to friends! I thought the quality of work is pretty good and his rates are very reasonable for the Bay Area.

After getting estimates from other companies, Concept Materials had a competitive estimate and I felt they would do the best quality work. This job involved replacing a cheap vinyl wood floor with durable SPC. The scope was a living room, 4 steps, and a hallway. Each day two guys arrived on time. Because the subfloor was not flat, they had to pour concrete to level the floor. Overall, they did an excellent job and cleaned everything well. We contacted Joe and he came out about a week later. He brought numerous samples, took measurements, discussed options, listened to what I wanted, etc. He sent me a detailed quote the next day. We decided to proceed and emailed Joe to let him know, paid the deposit, and about two weeks later our order arrived and was ready to be installed. Joe emailed me to let me know that the head installer, Bud, would contact me to set up a time. Bud texted me the next day and we set up a day and time for him to come do the installation. Bud did an excellent job. He is so accurate and precise with the work. It took him about two hours to install all seven coverings. Joe had taken one of our previously installed Hunter Douglas shades and sent it in to get it fixed (HD has lifetime warranty on moving parts so definitely a plus going with this company when ordering window coverings), so we are still waiting for that. From my experience with Joe and Bud, I feel they deserve five stars. They were efficient, communicated with me, and got the job done beautifully.
