We sat outside, it wasn't a freezing day so the space heaters were more than enough. We ordered some fritti-- the Jewish artichoke and sea bass balls. Jewish artichoke is always a must, the sea bass balls we're interesting and reminded me of childhood, though I wish it came with some lemon to cut through the oil. Then we ordered a pasta and a steak to split. The steak came out first, understandable they were insanely busy. The Chianina is to die for. The tenderness was perfect, the fattiness added a depth of flavor and the cooking temperature was excellent. Honestly I preferred eating the pasta last as I was able to real enjoy the meat. The zucchini and dried meat pasta was delicious-- you can't beat a handmade spaghetti. Very lightly sauced with scattered cherry tomatoes. I also ordered a glass of red Italian it was actually really complimentary to the meal and had a nice amount of smoke and depth in flavor. Perfect meal and service was great! Would 1000000% be back again next trip!

We started w. a nice Sauvignon Blanc Wine... Then to our delight came two baskets of Fried Roman Artichokes...delectably addictive.... Then presented to us like Royalty, we were served a Platter of Dips..from Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Pickles, Harissa, Egg Salad, Eggplant, Tahini and Fresh made Pita Bread. A very satisfying respite after touring the Museo Ebraico di Roma. promise you'll be happy, And even if you're not, There's more to life than that--- Don't ask me what...:) Shalom, Avram Tevye Jr.

We had a bottle of Pinot Grigio to accompany our meal, which was the highest priced white wine on the menu but not a worthy representation of Italian Pinot Grigio. We had the following dishes: Bruschetta Pomodoro (toasted bread slices topped with tomatoes), which was shared by the four of us and was delicious; Fritto Royal (Battered artichokes, potatoes, cod fillets, zucchine and mozzarella), Carciofi alla Giudia (fried artichoke), Gnocchi alla Sorrentina (gnocchi baked in a tomato sauce with mozzarella), Cicoria ripassata con la bottarga (sauteed Roman style chicory), Fettuccine panna e funghi (fettuccine with mushrooms in a cream sauce), and Gnocchi Gorgonzola e Noci (gnocchi in gorgonzola and walnut sauce). This latter dish was not as good as similar ones we have had elsewhere. This is a popular restaurant, and service from the waitstaff was just okay.

The staff are super attentive and make sure your experience is excellent feom start to finish. Our First visit was at lunch my wife ordred the Grilled Beed Steak medium with potatoes, I ordred the Tonnarelli Cheese & Pepper with Artichoke... All I can say "Hevean on our Plates" both our dishes were beyond flavor profiles the food was so good i made sure my last meal in Rome was the Tonnarelli Cheese & Pepper with Artichoke I did add for a starter the Artichoke Carpachio which sent my last meal to God Status!!! The wife ordered a pizza that had the crispy thin crust and she was to engulfed in her own flavor adventure. Both the waiters were awesome and the owners better keep them happy because they were definitely a large reason why we came back... There recommendations are the reason why this went from a lunch stop to a return visit leaving a mark on my life that was truly a wonderful food experience!!! Make this a stop while in Rome you wont regret it!!!!

Listen, if you are in Rome for almost a week, there are more than enough restaurants to try, right?…read more Why go back to the same place twice? We went to this place twice - excellent food, exceptional service, and a scarcity of tourists. This inviting establishment specializes in both traditional Roman cuisine as well as "Jewish ghetto" fare. For starters we had Jewish-style fried artichokes and fried anchovies. They really stood out as some of the best foods we tried all week. I had the Bucatini Amatriciana one night and the Carbonara the next. Both were superb. I had plenty of pasta carbonara on this trip, and this one was the best, hands down. My lady had the Artichoke Lasagne one night - this one of a kind meatless entree came layered with a heavenly bechamel sauce. On our second trip she had the Cacio E Pepe with artichokes, which she raved about before devouring it. The cheesecakes here are better than anything you will find on this side of the pond. They were warm and made more like a real cake than some creamy overly sweet mess. The house wine here is amazing- both red and white. The staff will happily sell you bottles to go, as well. Our server on our second night treated us to a round of limoncello and bade us return. That we will.
