They put new wood in, and stained it the color I chose. They sanded down a few of the bedrooms that already had hardwood, and there is a clear discoloration in the wood surrounding the perimeter of the rooms. It's very noticeable. On top of that, I've never seen hardwoods that dent so easily (where the new wood was put in). I've dropped a cup in the kitchen and it put a huge dent in the floor. Everyday things that should not scuff up wood floors put dents in these floors. 1 year after installation my entire kitchen and living room look like absolute shit because we used these guys. (We've barely lived in the house and the floors look like trash). Putting rugs down. Never again. From now on we'll do it ourselves, there's no way it could come out any worse.

She said "you will have to replace these windows and get aluminum or vynal." There were 8 windows in the apartment. The cost would have been $7 to $8K. She did give me the names of a couple of companies that do restoration and specialize in lead. I called Good Deeds and spoke to Mike. He came out and suggested re-glazing the windows. The windows came out great and looked new for about half the price of new windows. In addition the apartment was a real mess and we had to pass the inspection because the house was in the process of being sold. Mike said no problem. So I had them do the cleaning as well and the apartment passed! They even helped me with a couple of issues on the outside of the building This co really cares about their customers and the work they do. I threw him out of my house. The owner called and told the man who was painting to leave the job unless I paid the balance. They were so unprofessional and nasty. They lost a paint sample that my other company I used for different cupboards sent them and this was on the day work was suppose to start. The owner wasn't even apologetic when I expressed my disappointment. They sent one man to do the entire job. They took my door and drawer fronts to the shop and didn't finish them until the day they were coming back to place them. They promised more than one man but there was just the one man who did all the painting Jason. Ed and Mike the owner are in the 40s of 50s. Jason is only 25 and he was the most professional respectful, one of them all. If it wasn't for him, I would've canceled the whole job and got my money back. Just beware that the owner and Ed are nice as long as nothing goes wrong. If it does go wrong and you show your dismay they attack you by yelling and threatening. Imagine telling Jason to walk off the job and leave me in a mess. All because they lost the sample and then later the cabinets didn't come out totally well and needed to be touched up and they were mad at that and said if they had to touch it up I would be charged more. Ed said that to me. Then later denied it. The owner told Jason to walk off job then denied Last thing Mike did want to apologize to me but I wasn't home A year later we hade personally had to touch up spots over a dozen times. I would not have them paint your cabinets. Anything else they do I don't know.

Monetary loss, very hard for senior citizens to ambulate, very labor intensive intensive, no time to hire someone to complete the manual labor. Two seniors had to complete. We have a new stoop. The newly redone work is good. I suggested we get a break for a rather enormous failure, but this has not been honored. I was quite excited initially, nice team, will never contract again.

Found the perfect place and people at Bart's, especially the owner/operator, Tom B. He told me how to measure the room and responded quickly after I sent him a diagram of the two bedrooms we wanted to improve. We ultimately decided to use a nice grade carpet and I visited the showroom, kept a few feet away and considered the options, with Tom's great counsel. The whole process, even in this odd environment, was painless and the communications were great. The installers took their time and did a quality job. I feel we got a fair price, maybe a few bucks more than we might have spent at one of the big home improvement stores, but I'm happy I decided to deal with and get great service from Bart's.
