The appetizer options were plentiful and definitely recommend the flatbreads. We had the Wild Mushroom that had a heavy dose of the kale-basil drizzle. The "Seriously Roasted Brussels Sprouts" were indeed well roasted and had a generous amount of bacon mixed in. So good for those where bacon is always a plus, not so much for vegetarians. I opted for the scallops as my partner doesn't care for them so I don't fix them at home. They were excellent and come typically littleneck clams. They were out that night so substitute 3 big shrimp. All for shrimp and good size but definitely overcooked. It was all served on top of a bowlful of corn chowder with potato. Thinner than a chowder frankly but it was a nice combo of flavors for the underlying carb. If there was a downside it was the room. There are multiple but we ended up in the bar area with the towering ceiling that made it really loud. And, crowded, too -the entire gallery space was packed! There was food, beer, wine, live jazz music, awards, and lots of beautiful artwork! :) If you have never been, there are basically 2 main gallery spaces, the Bancroft Gallery & the Dillon Gallery. The Bancroft gallery is the larger space where Media Mix is being shown. I like this space very much! It has large walls on one side of it, and shorter walls on the other side with ample lighting. The walls seem to be some kind of upholstered plywood which makes for easy positioning of paintings. (No worrying about hiding nail holes!) There is also a hardwood floor which makes the entire space look modern and clean. The Dillon Gallery is smaller and darker. There was an exhibit of Italian paintings in there, which I enjoyed very much! This was really my first involvement with the South Shore Art Center, but overall, it seems to be a great place to view and learn about art! Everyone I met there is very friendly, and happy to meet local artists. It is also located in a beautiful town! The exit from this concert was not only unorganized, it was DANGEROUS!! I almost got hit 2x walking to our suv. Then my 16 year old and I were getting in the vehicle and a big truck came within inches of us at a ridiculous speed for a packed parking lot!! He was at least 4 inches from me. The concert was amazing, as always for train but I've never been in a facility with so many entitled, self-centered people with no regard for anyone. Couple this with the dangerous exit, you might want to hire experienced people for a concert that is sold out!! The staff were very nice though!! And there were other positives such as clean bathrooms. Do something about the safety when leaving before someone gets hurt!!!
