We arrived 45 mins ahead of departure as instructed. Parking (w/ attendant) was easy and right next door. The station had cute souvenirs and snacks. Clean restrooms in the station, and corn hole outside while you wait. Boarding was staggered and organized. We were greeted warmly by the conductor, which makes such a difference! Before we left the station we went to the bar to get cold drinks. The woman attendant apologized that the AC in that car was broken (it was only slightly warm) and she moved us to another car (upgrade!!). The attendant there was super - checked on us several times but didn't hover. The car we were in was restored to how it looked in the early 1900s. I loved it! Even the on-board restroom was cute. We had ordered the box lunches ahead of time and what a delightful surprise! We all LOVED our lunches! Wrap sandwich, chips, cookie, bottle of water for a very reasonable price. Sandwiches had tons of meat or veggies (we got roast beef, turkey, and the vegetarian); RB was good and lean. We were so full all 4 of us held the chips for later. The narration was cute - done by an older local woman with a solid Boston accent (yea!!). Learned things I didn't know, despite growing up near the area. The conductor played his saxophone for us near the end of the trip - he was excellent!! Wanted to give him a tip, but we lost him :o(. We definitely recommend! Will also consider one of their other trips - maybe the wind-tasting or jazz brunch.

The views of the canal and Cape cod with the narration were excellent and interesting. The entire experience was well worth the money and time. Everything was first class. There's a lot of interesting and good information, and I liked the people. But.... The first half of the tour is in an old mini bus. The bus has tiny windows, like 4" square, and no air circulation. No fans. No air conditioning. Today was nearly 90 out by 10 am, when our tour started, and temperatures inside the bus got so hot that stepping out felt cool! You don't travel far, and then they stop for 10 minutes to talk about what's out the window. It's brutal. Ironically, the travel distances are so slim most people could walk it. But, just sitting on the bus in the heat? Yuck. The second half is in an old shed where you learn about harvesting. Again, it could be interesting, but it's a good 10° hotter, even with the fans going, and it makes it hard to focus. Or even listen. Better weather would have helped. But, we had an old lady in our tour group nearly pass out, and the guide indicated that that was not uncommon. Heck, complimentary water would be nice. Waters are a dollar. The tour is fifteen. It's all cash only.

The vessel can really move fast on the way to the Stellwagen Bank marine sanctuary & the whales. The boat uses water jet propulsion "like a giant jet ski" to avoid harming marine life. The captain skilfully steered the vessel with great consideration for the whales. I thought we'd see one or two whales. But we saw many more. The captain announced where the passengers could see the whales as they surfaced. To give passengers a chance to see the whales, the captain gently turned the boat. Ben, an onboard naturalist, came by and offered information about the whales. He had a set of photos of whale flukes and explained how they identify individual whales. Markings are like fingerprints. Fascinating. Highly recommended this whale watching cruise.

Very large boat with indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outdoors so we wouldn't miss anything. So glad we did. They turn the boat around so you can see the whales from both sides of the boat. Whole experience is about 4- hours total. They also sell food, refreshments, snacks & alcohol. This was my first time seeing the whales up close and personal. I've seen them at sea world but this was different. Enjoyed every bit of it. If you don't mind mind your hair blowing in the wind. I highly recommend the outdoor seating hold on to your hats because this boat moves pretty fast!! Highly recommend :)

Whale Watch Dolphin Fleet - Sophie tour guide

We had an absolutely amazing day out on the water with Dolphin Fleet Whale Watch in Provincetown…read more Our tour guide, Sophie, made the entire experience unforgettable. She was incredibly knowledgeable, full of energy, and genuinely passionate about whales and nature. You could tell this is more than just a job for her. She even had a whale tattoo on her leg, which made her love for these incredible animals even more authentic. We learned so much from her, and it was refreshing to have a guide so excited to share her knowledge. She kept pointing out the whales as they surfaced, and her timing was perfect, just when you thought the action had moved on, she would spot another humpback breaching or lifting its tail before diving back down. If you can, try to get on one of Sophie's tours. I've been on whale watching tours before, but I have never seen anything like this. Our four kids were beyond excited as we saw what felt like 40 to 60 humpback whales. The boat ride itself was fantastic, with the salty spray in the air and everyone crowding the rails every time a whale came up close. It was one of the most incredible wildlife experiences we have ever had. At first, I thought the tour was a little pricey, but as my son said, "Dad, this was worth every dollar. You should have paid more." He was right. We happily tipped Sophie and the crew on our way out because they absolutely earned it. If you are visiting Provincetown, do not miss this experience. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and I would recommend it to anyone.
