Really nice selection of dog food including fresh cooked, raw, and farmina. All really good brands. Honest and kind people.

They have mealworms and they are open long hours but they have no pets. It's a pet supply store.

I've taken my dogs there 3 times to get their nails done and won't ever be going back. 2 times my dogs were given to someone training and did not know what they were doing and barely even trimmed their nails. Paying $30 for both dogs only to have to go else where to get them done over. I've given them a few chances and it's always the same thing. Barely even trim their nails. read more

Took my Ragdoll cat. For a Lion Cut which they told me they can do .he was a jacked up mess my 5 yr old granddaughter could have done that it was Horrible. we took our toy poodle to be groomed there a few weeks ago. The groomer was pathetic. She did not clean/shave his paws like we wanted and requested. She cut or actually butchered the hair on his tail. It looked like a 2 year old did it. She shaved his face so close, he had razor burn on his face. His hair was uneven all over his body. I will NEVER take him back there again. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! They ABUSE your pets. Worked at Barney's for a few weeks and saw nothing but straight abuse. Literally throwing dogs in cages, hitting them, and choking them out on the grooming table, pulling their legs, picking them up by the neck. Absolute sick place and I hope they get shut down. read more

Always great with my dog. Always careful with him using special soap. If I ask for it the store has the most awesome products friendliest staff, and the dog grooming is OnPoint. They treat my dog like his family and I love it. read more

Went in the store the other evening just before close to get a bag of dog food. I frequently have to go close to their closing time if I get lucky due to them closing at the same time everyone gets off work. I heard their phone rang and the girl who answered told the customer they close at five she promptly after she hung up the phone and said "b**ch you got 10 minutes" to the other clerk. They then began a conversation about how people always call and ask them to stay open a few minutes and how annoying it is. Knowing I've been one of these people I've decided after hearing this conversation I will definitely take all of my business to Petland and get a free bag of food after buying so many bags in their rewards program. Though I would preferred to support a family business instead of a chain pet store I just don't believe this is good customer service. read more

This place is amazing and the ladies are the friendliest people that you'll ever meet. They love to sit there and talk to you and ask you about your pets and really get to know you so that way they can give you the best stuff that you need for your animal. They also go out of their way to make sure they do the best for you. I love going there for all my pets and will never go anywhere else read more

This place is fine. We go here because its one of two places in town that stocks the food our dogs have been on, but it you have time I'd reccomend going to the other place (woerner landscaping, I think? ). Barney's just never seems to have a lot in stock and honestly the staff always acts like you're the biggest inconvenience they've ever faced. read more

I have been boarding our Beagle, "Bailey" at Barneys for the past 4 years. We have seen nothing but kindness from the boarding staff. The same person has been there for several years. They know Bailey by name when he gets there, and he immediate runs for the back yard as soon as he gets there. He gets to hang with the big dogs, and the small dogs.. they let them out separately in case there are issues. I have never had any indication that he was not happy there. The first time I boarded him, I was like a mother checking out child care. We had never had to board him. He seemed happy, and the price was right in the middle of the places I quoted. When we took him back the second time, he went racing in. This sealed it, he liked being there. Can't talk about the other staff, or supplies. Only the boarding and grooming. I would give them 5 stars if they were open on Sunday.. but everyone deserves a day off. read more

I've been to this location a few times before and everyone has always been so kind and helpful. This last visit was anything but pleasant. Two of the employees were having a conversation about Pokémon and how she needs to catch better ones. I asked a question about a reptile cage and she said terrariums are in the back and they're expensive... after looking at dirty merchandise that was over priced we left. Hmmm, Customer service is important to me and I find this place lacking in EVERY sense of the word. I will take my business elsewhere no matter the drive time. read more

Absolutely wonderful. We go here for all of our pet supplies and especially boarding. Don't trust anywhere else in town. We got our dog back from Pensacola Pet Resort covered in pee. It's cheap and they really do seem to care for our dogs! read more

While living in the area, my husband insisted to take our dog here because it was convenience and closer to home. Everything was great until recently after we had moved away. Our dog is temporarily living with my parents who did us a favor by taking our dog in for us to get groomed. When my dad took him back home, they realized he did not get bathe, nails trimmed, teeth brushed, except fur on his back shaved. When I called and talked to the head of the groomers about it. She said my dog was handling by a new groomer, who has less experience handling big dogs who a bit fearful of him. The usual girl was not there or so she said. She offered a free bath if we take him back. Here the problem after this experience (and had taken time off from their busy schedule), my parents would not bring him back. They prefer to bathe him themselves. I talked to the head of groomers again requesting for partial refund (I paid over $70+tips), because the services were not provided. She refused! Not only she refused she started making up excuses that he did get all the services mentioned above when she clearly told me he was not from the beginning. I would not take my pet to this place again and make sure examine your pet before taking them home or it will your words again theirs. I will be filing a complaint to business bureau. read more

I've driven by this place several times and never really wanted to go in because I found the exterior off putting. However, I was wrong! This place has everything including high quality holistic dog and cat foods. They are reasonably priced as well. It's great to have a good pet supply store on the west side of town! read more

We just adopted a dog 2 weeks ago. Since I've always been a cat owner and not a dog owner, the groomers were very helpful in making our dog feel comfortable and showing her the love and compassion they show their own animals. She had a wonderful experience, so did I. And the grooming prices are much better than Pet Smart! read more

They Do not follow instructions for grooming poodle. Ears were never cleaned or trimmed properly therefore, ear infections occurred. Also, final boarding experience was totally unsatisfactory- 2 dogs were to be bathed & groomed before pickup. They were not groomed, filthy, flea infested, and one dog had tapeworms from the stay. This was not their condition on drop off! Vet visit required. read more

Been a customer for over 4 years. Grooming staff is rude and unprofessional. Can't find my dogs paperwork and didn't know what to charge me. Asked what I paid and when I told them they told me I was wrong. Ever since Heidi left the place has gone downhill. I won't leave my dog there overnight. EJ shouldn't have her employees smoking pot on the side of the building during business hours. When is the hair salon starting? I value my dog too much to have her on the premises. I have been going to Barney's for over a year. I usually am quite pleased with the treatment I get. However, I prefer to go on certain days when one of the more helpful staff members are there. Yesterday, that staff member wasn't there. The two that supposedly "helped" me were not very helpful. I probably spend $200-300 there every month feeding my pets so I would expect that I could get some sort of decent treatment. When I asked about the missing staff member the response I got was "I don't know". I asked would she be in tomorrow..."I don't know". I asked did she still work there..."I don't know". Seriously? How do you not know? Maybe they've changed to a commission based income and if that is the case these two need to work on their personality skills. I certainly hope things improve or I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

My family and I had a terrible experience. I'd been to Barney's Pet World on a couple prior occasions, and they were never very helpful or friendly. On June 21 my wife and three young daughters wanted to see the kittens that were being adopted that particular day. After enquiring about their kittens the lady behind the counter asked me if we intended for the kitten to be indoor, outdoor, or both, and I explained "both." At this point she was very abrupt and rude stating, "we only adopt to people who keep the animals inside; go check the local shelter!" My next logical question was, "how do you enforce that?" To which she replied, "I don't adopt to people who ask me that question." Well, she obviously isn't that interested in adopting to anyone nor does she have any clue about good manners and/or customer service. Of course, the establishment is free to "adopt" whatever adoption policies they see fit, BUT they should clearly post those policies on their front door. And for crying out loud, don't insult and accost your customers. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone....worst pet store experience in my entire life..... Stay away!!!!! read more

Love the groomers! They know my dog by name every time and reasonable price for our large dog , we go once a month-ish

If I could rate a zero on the grooming I would. My small dog was there on time to be groomed and 3 hours later all they did was bath her and she had several bleeding nails and seemed traumatized. Five people working in the grooming area and no one knew what they were doing. They take the dogs to the back where you can't see them. A very scary place and I feel sorry for the dogs who have to suffer at the hands of the incompetent people. My friend had a much worse story. Her dog curled up in a ball shaking after her experience. I have been to Barney's several times and NEVER been disappointed in any way. The staff has always been courteous, friendly, and happy to help. The variety and quality of supplies stocked is excellent; the animals always appear very well cared for. As far as one reviewer's comments about kitten adoption, I have NEVER seen animals being offered for "adoption" as opposed to being sold. I highly recommend this as an alternative to "pet superstores." The map is accurate. As an added help, they are just north of the traffic light. At the light are two convenience stores on the north side of the intersection, one on either side. Barney's is just before the convenience store on the left. read more

Horrible . They called the police on me ! I went too the store today to return bowls that I bought there 2 days ago, I called before I got there to ask if I could return a cage and 2 bowls that I had bought . And the lady over the phone said no too the cage because they couldn't verify if they sold it to me, but yes too the bowls if I had the receipt; which I did have for the cage and the bowls. So I get there, and the owner says no that I can't return them. So I tell her that I wouldn't have bought them if there was a sign that says No returns, but I don't see a sign that says that. So then she points too a sign thats taped to the front of the counter thats written in sharpie that reads " NO RECEIPT, NO RETURNS " ; on a piece of copy paper. I have my receipt, so I demand my money back. So then the owner says to give me my money back but that I wouldn't be back because I don't have a pet anyways and smirks, knowing that I had just lost my dog. So I tell her to not be a jack a and to be professional. So then she says something else and I tell her that I don't give a f*, to just give me my money back. So she calls the police, three policemen are called on me, and they get there and while Im explaining to them what her sharpie sign says, she looks and me and says " Can you read ?" like i'm an idiot. So I tell her that to treat me like an idiot. So the police men ask for me to come outside and says " I agree with you and understand why you're upset. I can't make them give you back your money, but I would recommend that you contact the better business bureau and too never come back too this store " which is what I shall do and I will happily drive those extra miles to PetSmart or Petco and give them my business ; even though Barneys was my local pet store. read more
