We also did the Round Trip shuttle ride with SLO Safe Ride bus. I'd do it again. The Terrace Club was nice and we met two other couples from Nipomo and Calabasas. We put tables together and hung like old friends until the concert started. The price of alcohol was brutal. $16.00 beer and $19.00 mixed drinks. This did not deter me though! It's the same drink menu outside the Terrace Club with the same ugly prices BTW. The upgraded food was indeed upgraded. Small menu. Flat Iron Steak Dinner with salsa, chili beans, potato salad, and bread. Veggie Pasta Dinner (No thank you) Caesar Salad We split the Flat Iron Steak Dinner and they nailed it with a perfect medium rare. I for one was impressed. I think it was about $33.00. I splurged on 3rd row center seats. The sound was okay. Pretty loud. Duh, it's a rock concert. I think a little farther back would have been better but we had a good time. Unfortunately the tallest man in the world sat/stood right in front of my 5'2" wife. Wife not too happy about that but what can you do? My biggest beef was with Los Lonely Boys. Love you guys but only two hits the whole night? So Sensual Heaven I will say they were great in concert.

Today, Thursday , they have wines by the glass for $5! What an incredible deal. Since I drink only white wines, I was able to get a generous sample of 3 different wines for less than a tasting! Wines are good but not as good as I remembered before they sold the winery. We had the Diavola pizza and the Porchetta sandwich. The pizza was delicious. The sandwich was pretty good but it was a little dry. We also ended our lunch with a lovely tiramisu. The tiramisu was moist with the right amount of alcohol and cream. Just delicious. Service was great. The staff are very friendly. My son has a dairy allergy and can't have the cheese on regular pizzas. The chef was very accommodating and allowed us to bring in our specially wrapped vegan cheese to use on his pizza. Thank you for this accommodation! The eatery was very calming and was a wonderful way to spend our lunch hour. They did not rush us and we felt very welcomed. Definitely will be back here again.

This year (or last night), was in the 80's and it cooled off nicely in the evening. So, I went. Well, I have lukewarm feelings about it. I like the small town and rural feel of it, a little bit cowboy. But I feel it is 90% overpriced crappy food vendors. Kinda what you want and expect from a fair, but still. My gal and I got in at 615pm, and perhaps the highlight would be the barnyard animals...and all that we saw were rabbits. Ugh. We didn't go for the music, as most people do, but on this night were the 60's band, Herman's Hermits. They did a few of their hits, and covers of others from that era. Good performers, but not my cup of tea. All in all, 2.5 hours and we had enough. Best part: parked at Lowes, and took a bus to/from. A beautiful clean bus at that.

They were parked outdoors and it was cool to be able to walk up to the planes and tanks that our military used in different wars. There was also an enclosed area with antique cars. Bartender was a really nice girl, pretty young and didn't seem to know too much about the history of the bar so when I ask a couple of questions, she walked over to an older gentleman who seemed to know everything about the bar, (he was instructing the bartender which lights to turn on and which lights to turn off, etc.,) but he was much more interested in doing shots with his friends so that was little disappointing, but we did get our questions answered. Apparently once a year, just to honor the old traditions, they allow people to ride their horses up to and even in the bar. Really fun. Google says it's haunted and the bartender said she never had any experiences with the old guy drinking with his friends didn't have anything to say about anything. It could be made into something very, very cute and nostalgic, but it's just a bar and I didn't think it was much worse going to. But we got to check the box that we went to the oldest bar in the area.

As an aside, as we walked in I noticed a lovely lady pruning and caring for an absolutely beautiful rose garden. It was easy to tell that she had a real passion for her flowers. During my visit, I was also lucky enough to have a perfectly timed appearance soon after I arrived from the winery cat, who later checked in on me again. :) It was such a warm and memorable experience all around. The next time I'm back visiting, I look forward to another great experience--and until then, I'll be savoring the bottle of port I brought home!
