So once again, thank you for a stress- and pain-free dental experience! ___________ Two days ago I had an appointment at a different office in the Mid-Peninsula Medical Center, and I noticed a sign for this new dental office, showing they were now open. I wandered into the cheerily lit waiting room and made an appointment for two days later. It was my lucky day. Dr. William Broas (pronounced "brahss") recently opened the practice and is seeking new patients. He is a quite friendly and brisk, has been around the DDS community for many a year. Jennifer, the dental hygienist, was quick and knowledgable in her skill and trade, and made me feel at ease during the whole cleaning process. This is very important to me as I have TMJ, and the cleaning can be painful--but it wasn't at all! Caitlyn, the receptionist, was also delightful and efficient. When I set up my follow up appointment for my fillings and fitting for a mouth guard, she had all of the costs printed out, waiting for me so that I'd know what to expect. If you need a dentist, definitely give these folks a call!

They were so kind and recommended me to a special who could handle root canal therapy. The staff was great and super friendly and so welcoming. I have a new dentist now.

Of course, right, because it couldn't be during the week of a non-Holiday!!! Anyway, after visiting Rappahannock General Hospital's Emergency Department (yes, the pain was bad enough to go to the ER) who were great (Dr. Gale, Taylor and the Staff), we called Dr. Fina's emergency number, at 2:00 A.M., the day BEFORE the Christmas Holiday 2024! A couple of hours later, Dr. Fina himself called my wife and then met us at his office in Burgess; the day before Christmas! Dr. Fina applied the best modalities for the relief of my pain. He was patient, knowledgeable and confident! When it was determined that I needed an Oral Surgeon (yeah, the situation was that bad!), DR. Fina himself called his Oral Surgeon contacts near Richmond. One of those Oral Surgeons called us, THAT DAY (the day BEFORE Christmas 2024!), and set up and appointment for the day AFTER Christmas 2024! Thank you Dr. Fina for your help in our time of Dental Crisis! We absolutely need Doctors like Dr. Fina on the Northern Neck! He went above and beyond to help us with this issue. Top rate listening and helping and reaching out to his contacts to help us put an end to this Dental issue and the accompanying, horrible, pain. I was scheduled for cleaning next month but had an issue come up ands asked if there was an…read moreappointment earlier to be seen to check on what was bothering me and they called saying we could see you on 9/14/26, so I go in at 3pm, they take a single xray of my tooth where I was having an issue and looked inside my mouth, Dr finna came in asked simple questions and looked himself (he was there for less then 2 min) said it looked OK no issue. He left and the nurse said all done and I asked what about the other teeth or cleaning and she said they where only seeing me for the single issue of tooth pain that's it and no cleaning that's done in another room and walked me to the front counter. They charged me $200 for 10 mins of time! I asked about a discount for upcoming appt and was told nothing they could do it would be regular change for office visit xrays ect. I don't have insurance and paying $200 for a 3pm appt and at the counter at 315pm is ridiculous, they said they were short handed with staff and it felt like I was being rushed. Needless to say I will not be going back to them, I understand office fees and cost but to charge me $200 for ten mins and no work done on teeth without offering at least a no office charge for the scheduled cleaning in 3 weeks is not very patient friendly. Konikoff Family Dentistry assured me they could help and got me in the next day. I was relieved. What followed felt less like patient care and more like a bait-and-switch. After X-rays, I was told they couldn't actually treat the problem and that I would need to see their specialist -- with an appointment scheduled a MONTH later. A month. For a cracked wisdom tooth causing significant pain. But somehow, despite being unable to address the urgent issue I came in for, there was still time to discuss teeth whitening treatments and tell me I supposedly had multiple cavities that would require extensive work. I left, found another dentist the very next day, had the wisdom tooth removed immediately, and was told there were no cavities or other issues. I understand referrals happen. Specialists exist for a reason. What I do not understand is bringing in a patient in acute pain, failing to meaningfully help them, then pivoting to cosmetic upsells and questionable diagnoses while they're sitting there suffering. If your office cannot provide emergency treatment, be honest about that upfront. Don't tell people in pain you can help, only to turn the visit into a sales opportunity. I would strongly encourage anyone seeking urgent dental care to get a second opinion.
