The thing I have loved most the last ten years I have done business with Barnes Crossing Hyundai was the friendly and warm atmosphere. Saturday morning I felt like I was interrupting the service dept when I pulled in. I received numerous looks but was never acknowledged. Two female employees were chatting on the inside and when they finished their conversation one finally came out. I am hoping this is a one off. Do better Service Dept. This is the lowest rating I have given in my ten years of being a customer. read more

Damon was the easiest person to work with in our tough situation. He stayed in constant communication with us and provided details, answered questions, and was extremely patient. I will refer him to everyone I know looking to trade or buy a new vehicle. I couldn't be happier with how our purchase went. Madonna made the financing side a breeze. read more

This dealership is spot on! I had seen a SUV we were interested in. I emailed on a Saturday and then got 3 emails in response. Monday, I called and asked who the salesperson was. "Sean" got back with me and said he would find out who emailed me (3 people did), And who the sales person was handling my inquiry. A few hours later, Sean called back and said he was gonna be responsible. We drove over an hour and from the moment we came, Sean, Josh and Madonna were great! We told them we needed a dependable suv for our daughter, and they took care of us! We appreciated the clarity, non pushiness, kindness and all the helps with the vehicle we chose. In fact so much so? If I'm ever in need again, I'll be going back! Clean, great atmosphere, waters available, and great client rapport! We were pleased! read more

Went here to look at a 2013 toyota highlander and talked to Kamani when we got there at first but later was pushed of on Jeff. Jeff was awsome with us he drove us around to pick out some models we liked and talked with us about everything. He worked hard on making the sell for us. We did not get the first vehicle we picked out , which was a 2022 toyota rav 4, but he did get us into a nice 2023 kia seltos. My wife loved the vehicle and loved working with Jeff. Jeff was not a salesman either but he went above and beyond to help us get into something alot nicer than what we had. I understand Kamani was helping other customers also but lacked the salesman quality. I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he may have not been in the sales long in which I understand. We left happy but I do believe the detail department needs some work they left a 3m door hanger stuck to the windshield, in which I got off myself and the cleaning job was subpar. I will just have to take it and get it professionally detailed to make it look nice. The one thing I did not like about this whole experience was we got no owners book, no floor mats, and only 1 set of keys. With that being said that's why I gave it an ok rating, but for Jeff he gets a 5 star . read more

I drove from Birmingham to Tupelo to visit my father in the hospital and I stopped at Barnes Crossing Hyundai to charge my EV. From the moment I entered the lot, everyone I encountered were some of the friendliest people I've ever met. They helped me with the charger, offered to get me a Coke and they had an ice cream truck the owner had paid to come to the lot. When they found out why I was there, the General Manager Josh even gave me a ride to the hospital. We made a two hour trip to check out a van. The salesman ensured us it wasn't sold the previous night, as well as that morning. We get to the dealership and wait around for quite some time. We start to think that the van was sold and we were being played. Well, we were right. The salesman pulled a bait and switch on us. He proceeded to try to sell us ANOTHER van that did not meet our requirements, which he was well aware of. What a waste of our time and gas money. This was THE most disappointing experience with a car dealership we've ever had! This was in 2019. I thought I had written a review but turns out I never did. read more

Disappointed... I rushed after work to get my oil change because I was right at the mileage point and had to go out of town which made me go over The service center closes at 6 pm.. I arrived approximately 10 minutes to 5 pm... the lady at the desk said she'd get someone as soon as the service people came back in... i waited patiently, then about 5:14 I started asking questions because no one came to help me and was told at 5:22 that they had already started shutting down about 20 minutes prior.?? All I was told is that I had to come back. Wasted time and just felt let down. read more

Poor experience with salesman Joe and his coworker. Was tossed around between the two of them like a hot potato no one wanted and continually talked over when trying to tell him I only wanted my credit run at three lenders max. He assured me that was what they did anyways and while I thought I was waiting on my trade in appraisal, he comes back basically telling me he can't do anything for me and had already run my credit with no forewarning at all. My entire experience was maybe 30-45 minutes there. Not worth the hour drive I made there and hour back. I am a 23 year old who just graduated college. My credit will go up. My income will go up. And when it does I will remember how I was treated when I was 23 and couldn't find a respectful salesman even close from my own hometown, and I will avoid those dealerships by any means. It is a disheartening experience and solidifies the image car salesman can so often fall into. read more

This car dealership is about as terrible as it gets, and I've purchased several cars at several dealerships across several different states. After having two totaled vehicles from a hail storm where I live (and the car prices being gauged following the storm where I live), I made the choice to look for a new vehicle in Tupelo where I was working and drive it home. They gave me fake promises about something they would add on to the vehicle before I left town that would be included in the price, but weren't able to do it in time so I was just supposed to go without. I purchased the vehicle on a Wednesday, drove home on Friday, and a week later they called me saying that I needed to get them paperwork immediately because the deal needed it. Paperwork I didn't have time to get before leaving for a remote vacation where I didn't have access to my bank or the documents they needed. When I told them I'd get it for them as soon as I got home, they called and emailed me multiple times a day. The day before I got home, I got a call from the owner RUDELY telling me I needed to tell him where he could pick up HIS car. When I told him it was at my home 1200 miles away, he changed his tune and wanted to work things out. He offered some money, said he'd make the rest of it right, but then I got pushed over to Madonna the office manager now that he'd "resolved" the situation. I worked with them and got the necessary paperwork, but when I reminded her that he was sending me a check, it turned worse again and now they're deducting over $600 from something she'd made a deal with the bank about to finish the processing and was going to take care of on their end but now that she knew that they were sending me a check, she was going to deduct it instead. In essence, they don't care anything about the person or the vehicles, they just care about the bottom line. They have no hesitance in lying to get you to sign on the bottom line, and will change their story when it suits them to get more money from you. I'd warn everyone away from Barnes Crossing Mazda Hyundai, as well as all of their other dealerships if they operate the same way this one does. read more

I really hate I bought my first big purchase with them. The was the first car I ever bought by myself so I got all the features with 10 miles on it. I've been having problems constantly with it and they aren't able to diagnose any of the problems. I haven't even had the car for a year yet. I have given this dealership multiple tries and have nothing but problems with them. It all started in 2015 when I took my vehicle that I originally purchased from them to get a quote on getting it fixed. About an hour later, they came in stating that the engine and transmission was about to fail, even though it only needed one exhaust part to fix. They wouldn't let me take the vehicle and go to another shop and forced me and my sister into a new car (2015 Elantra). Had nothing but problems with the car, especially the steering, and in 2016 the car steering component on the passenger side broke. It was in the shop a lot with the steering complaint and they told me it was all in my head. After the wreck in it (luckily the car didn't flip) the dealership knew we had a budget and still put us in a new car (2016 Sonata). With payments right at $486 a month, there is no way to afford it and the high dollar insurance and tag. One time I had my car in for service, there was nothing wrong except needing a oil change, and when I got it back and added windshield washer fluid in it, I noticed that part of the washer fluid hose was cut. They are denying that they did that even though it was complete when it was taken to service. Fast forward to earlier this year, had a meeting with the General manager (William Cody) of this dealership and said he would look into everything and let me know his results. Well he never called me back about anything and will not take my phone calls for a follow-up. Thanks to the bad service I have received from this dealership in all departments (Sales / Management / Service) I had to resort to the last option, and once out of it, I will not be buying from this dealership again and recommend anyone to steer clear or know exactly what you need done and don't let them talk you into something different. I would rate this dealership with less stars, but only one person who works there has always been nice. read more

DO NOT do business with this dealership. I bought a brand new Sonata in 2012. One of the selling points was the dealership additional 100,000 mile warranty on the drive train. Flash forward to now. With 160,000 on it, 40k miles left on dealers warranty, the transmission went out. The service manager said my warranty is void because I didn't get the transmission serviced at 60k miles. The car was serviced regularly at THIS dealership and not once in the past 7 years have they said you need a transmission service. So by their point of view when I bring the car in for service I have to direct them on what to service even thought they keep a detailed service record on my car. Even jiffy lube will tell me when I need a new air filter without me telling them I need one. These people are incompetent in the service department and deceptive in their dealing with people. read more

Service Dept did not follow through sending mileage information to Hyundai on my Sonata as needed. Stated he didn't know how to do it so I guess they just let it drop. Great place to buy a car! A lot of local friendly faces here... Take advantage of the 20 year/250,000 miles warranty!!!

Not a fan of this dealership. Buyer beware. Especially if you are a remote buyer. I buy cars all the time. I love cars. I've had tons. I've bought plenty of cards from out of town/state both from individuals and dealerships. It's not out of the ordinary for me to make a few hour drive to buy the vehicle I'm looking for. I found a vehicle for sale (Wrangler) This was an employee of the dealership's vehicle. Owner/Sales Manager? Name is Will Cody or Cody Will. Two first names so i'm not sure of the order. Don't remember. I inquire about the vehicle and get a text back from a sales guy. Nice guy. Same name as me - what are the odds right? Anyway - I text back n forth. He sends me some pictures as the article on the internet didn't have any yet since it was newly listed. Everything looks good. I ask if i can talk to the owner about the vehicle since it has some aftermarket parts on it. I discuss with the owner about the vehicle. We hang up and i tell him i'll let him know by the next day if i want to purchase. I text him a little later with an offer. We go back n forth a couple of times - no problem. We agree on a price. I let him know i'm going to buy the vehicle. Now I go back to the sales guy. I tell him about my conversation with the owner and my agreement with him to purchase the vehicle. He says he needs to confirm the price with the owner. Everything so far is on the up and up. I wasn't lying to the guy. I told him the price he gave me. I have a text with his pricing information. Everything was agreed upon. I tell the sales guy that I'll be renting a car and need to know by a certain time of the day if everything is good to go. I'm requesting a buyer's order before i leave as i don't want to get there and either have the vehicle already purchased or the price mysteriously changed. Sales guy goes quiet. Finally i hear from him and he says he'll let me know soon and get me the buyer's order. Soon doesn't come 'soon' and I decide to go ahead and rent the car as they are closing in about 30 minutes and if I didn't get it that day I'd have to wait until next weekend. As much as dealers hate to have customers wait and 'come back' - I disliked waiting a week to purchase the car. I get the rental and as soon as i get home the sales guy tells me the vehicle won't be ready 'tomorrow' as it hasn't ran through their inspection yet. I didn't think this was anything that should have been a surprise and I think I could have been notified about this much sooner. The rental is cheap so I'm not too worried. I ask if it'll be ready Monday/Tuesday next week (this is currently Friday PM) He tells me he'll let me know. I follow back up on Saturday (the next day) and he says it should be ready Monday / Tuesday AM at the latest. He tells me 'it'll be ready by then man' Ok, so instead of going through the hassle of returning the rental and re-renting a day later - I just keep it. It's a good daily rate. I'm not worried about it. Sure - I'm irritated they told me about it not being ready after the fact - but whatever. I ask him about financing charges and rates and going through their dealer he says rate will be high and i may want to get m own financing. I get with my bank and within a few hours i have all of this secured and funds deposited next day. No problem here. Monday comes around and i'm still asking for the buyer's order paperwork. Sales guy tells me it won't be ready by Tuesday and to return the rental. I do this. Frustration is getting higher. When i talked with the owner in my first conversation - nothing was mentioned about waiting this long. I figured everything was good. Especially since this a a reputable dealership and not some 'fly by night used car place' I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe that's my bad. Now later in the week the sales guy tells me that the vehicle needs about $2500 worth of work done in their shop and the price agreement won't work. I suppose they are wanting me to pay for the work done from their own inspection from the vehicle who is the owner (or some higher up employee anyways..). At this point now i'm about done. I have already had a rental for 3 days, and secured my funds. Nothing about all this was mentioned when talking with the owner. He was so proud of the work he'd done he said this thing was 'bad@ss' and needed nothing. $2500 later here we are. Now I get it. If the dealership has to put this money in the vehicle and they are upside down or don't have the margin they want at our original price agreement fine. But why make an offer and negotiate to a mutually agree upon price? Nothing of this was mentioned. I was led to believe everything was on the up and up. Now I have texted the sales guy and I'm no longer getting a response. They probably don't care. I'm just one guy right? So that's my story. Internet buyers beware. read more

This stealership! During covid-19 they tried to do as much online as possible. No problem there. I found a vehicle, went thru the entire process, including credit app. Waited a day, no one called. I called them, they claim nothing populated in their system...ok so where did all my personal info go? No one knows. So had to redo all over again. Did the finance calculator on THEIR www including down payment, interest amount, taxes etc. on THEIR www. The payment was to be $481. When we got to dealer it had magically jumped to $603!! a few add ons, unbeknownst to me. I had those removed and payment still a $100 higher than THEIR www. They claim to "inspect" their used vehicles; and maybe they do..in the dark, looking at something else. They say tires all good..except when I checked them at least one was nearly at the wear bar. They said no, those tires are at 60% tread. They told me vehicle had 2 sets of keys, after the deal was all signed, magically, that turned into 2 keys...1 key and 1 fob. Now I realize its a used vehicle and all, but they have a sneaky way of NOT washing prior to signing, just let you look it over when its dirty. Nice way of hiding things....like a highly chipped windshield (was covered in dirt/bug guts) Last but not least, they offer to fill it up for you, pretty standard right. Except they give ya $20 voucher to put in $29 of fuel... Why you ask did I put up with all the above? Well the truck had very low mileage and I had hoped to get quite a bit of life from it. I have learned a lesson and thats stay far away these...people. read more

The Barnes Crossing store has some wonderful employees. I have bought 4 cars from them over the past 8 years. Highly recommended.

after making the decision to finally get a new car even though the payments would put me in a financial bind having 2 kids with Schizoaffective bipolar disorder the oldest has Asperger's and the youngest of which also has asthma, and arthritis. I decided on a sonata because of all the reviews only to feel as though I have been cheated.... first I got leather seats no problem but they broke the clip and blamed me I waited a total of 10 hrs in the waiting room and drove back there 3 times bf it was finally fixed oh and the leather not real leather its already cracking and rubbing off that's 1500 dollars down the drain. then my air conditioner wasn't working so I made an apt, my apt was at 10 I waited 4 hrs for them to tell me they would order the part and they never called so after 3 weeks I called and they were like oh yeah we have the part so we scheduled a time to go in guess what the part wasn't there and I didn't find out till about another 5 hrs in the waiting room. so finally we got a new part went in waited several more hrs and 3 days later its still doing the same exact thing. only now on top of the air conditioning not working my head lights are not working whenever I turn the wheel of the car something I didn't know was wrong until my daughter and I were in the car and very nearly got ourselves killed when the lights suddenly turned off and another car almost hit us because he didn't see us... So im still waiting on new parts for my brand new car. please explain to me how on earth I am suppose to take my daughter to her rheumatologist in Jackson if I have a faulty car. Also having 2 Kids with mental illness tell me please who is going to reimburse me for the nurse I have to pay to watch my kids whenever such events arise because I cant just leave them with just anyone, they have to be specially cared for at all times. I will never buy another Hyundai as long as I live. I feel as though literally I am wasting money on my car payments if I could afford to get another car right now I would. I will also be letting my entire family and extended family whom are spread around the world as well as my military family who are spread even further around the world know to never buy a Hyundai. Oh yeah and to boot instead of offering me a car I can drive in the mean time I am now stuck without transportation because im afraid to get in that death trap you call a vehicle. I think the worse part is the service sucks you know I could have easily dealt with this had the dealership been compassionate had they tried to make an inconvenient situation better, but no the guy I spoke to knew what was wrong with my car from the start and put the wrong part in it anyways because apparently according to him that is your policy to try everything else first even though multiple cars keep coming in with the same exact problem. Bad experience for the 3rd time the service department gives me a bad experience the first time I take in my newest Mazda for a free factory repair. They always try to sell me something I don't need and they trash my car, this time and they don't perform the repair correctly in the first place. When my wife left the dealership after us being there all day, the tail lights will not go out and the car has no power. They didn't adjust the break pedal after replacing the break booster. Also tried to sell me new break fluid to replace my dirty fluid that was also brand new in the first place. Any way the pedal doesn't make proper contact with the break switch. So the cars computer think you're breaking and will not give the car gas to go. She pulls over and I give it a try, it does the same for me also. After a few test I figured out if I pull up on the break pedal the car operates normally. I get it home this way. When I get out I see the grease and oil stains on my mint condition cream leather seat, and on the door and on the side of the car. I call the dealership and the service department is closed and I expected that sense they closed right after we left. I leave a message for the service manager to call and he never does. I call Monday afternoon and they apologize and I have to bring it in a second time for them to complete the job they said was done and clean my car. I hope never have to go back. They are the stereotypical mechanic that you cannot trust because they want everything in your wallet and then perform bad service and lie about it to try to get more money. They suck read more

Bought a car that the dash made terrible noise and the rear made noise. I told the Salesman a few days later that I didn't like the car but he didn't offer to put me in something else. Was told we could trade in 6 months, LIE. I found out that the car had been wrecked, had no idea, would have never bought it had I known. I went to Barnes Crossing Hyundai hoping they would make it right and keep me as a lifetime customer. I did get another car but had to go down to a year older model than the one that had been wrecked with a higher payment. Was forced to pay $2,100.00 for the Extended Warranty ( we all know those warranties are worthless) it was the only way I could get the car and get out from under the one I took back. They should have put me in a Vehicle that was the same price with the same payment that I had but that didn't happen. I was told that they sell cars every day that have been wrecked, that is the reason people trade cars. Wish I had gotten the man's name that told me that. Already got the payment book on the new car and they have as of yet to pay off the one I TRADED. I wonder if the Owner knows how his employees are doing business. Seems they would want to have Happy Customers that would tell others how well they were treated. Also asked about the 20 yr 200,000 mile warranty they usually give on every vehicle. Was told oh we can't do that on this car. Was given 2 yrs of free oil changes on the first car and asked about it on this car, Nope wouldn't do it. Wish I could speak with the Owner but of course they say he isn't there. The woman that did the paper work Lied too, I told her I don't like Fort Financial that financed the car, you can't make your payment online unless you have a Checking or Savings account with them. I am not one to mail things, I like to pay online. Any way she said she would try to get some one local to finance it and would call me the next day, it's going on 2 weeks and she never called.. I am waiting a few more days to see if they pay off the other car, if not I will be at their office, as much as I don't want to have to ever deal with them again. No way I can pay for the car I took back and the one I have now. Every day that it's not paid off it is incurring interest My advice is to Get a Car fax before you buy a car from this Dealership..
