I have had great experiences at this location. I will share my pros and cons below. Cons: The selection in each section are very small. Romance and fantasy are not even half the size of the Boise location. It feels like this this is just a a cookie cutter location to wet your appetite. I stood at the service desk and was ignore by a staff member-who I later learned was a manager Tiffany. Very bad service. Design. Its very modern. I don't like the way this store is designed. I know it is the new Barnes and Noble feel, but it is not the book store feel that we have always had with BN. Its cold and blah. The bathrooms have been an issues for almost 2 months. Pros: The location is great. Despite my service issue above, I have had some great staff interactions. One employee Bella has gone out of her way several times to help me locate books that I needed and suggested others to help me fulfill my shopping list. That is the type of service and assistance I expect in a book store! The Barnes and Noble exclusives are a great value and I love the exclusivity of the designs. read more

Welcome to Meridian B&N We're over the moon excited to have you in the Village. While the red carpet was out, all that was missing was the paparazzi. I had some speculation that the new B&N was going to be small and cramped, but that was not my experience this morning. They used half of the space or slightly more of the leftover Gordman's building, and they did it wisely. There are so many nooks and quiet spaces to check out a book and get a good taste of it before purchasing it. On the right-hand side is a Starbucks and a small table section to have some matcha, latte, or even a tea. There's a lot to take in, and I can see this B&N being a great place to escape the insanity of Eagle Road and relax. The staff was welcoming, and I especially liked watching one of the employees in the back kiosk help an elderly customer. Can't wait to go back and explore some more of the mystery and horror sections. read more

Is there anything more welcome-intoxicating than the aroma of coffee wafting by as you enter a bookstore? Rhetorical question. But the aroma of coffee greeted me on my walk in the door for my first visit to the newly opened second location in the Treasure Valley. This store located in the outer mall at The Village (next to Nordstrom Rack on The Boise CoOp side of the mall) is a bit smaller, or seems so, than the behemoth older sibling in Boise but also maybe more welcoming as a result. The layout is a little confusing first time in. I didn't find anything intuitive about the location of things in various spaces in the store, but that same thing might be said of all of the B&N I have shopped in the last thirty years. The friendly staff was working hard in the face of near overwhelm number of people lined up to buy books on the day I was in, but it was not that long after their November opening and I'm sure buyer crowds even out over time. PARKING: Lots of it in the mall lot. ACCESSIBILITY: B&N is a chain store so knows the rules of ADA compliance and follows them for an accessible shopping experience for disabled shoppers. Of which I am one. INTERESTING FACT: B&N opened 55 new stores in 2025. So much for the demise of bricks and mortar book sellers in the age of Amazon. PET PEEVE: People who park their posteriors at the tables in the store's Starbucks to work for hours on end, thereby making the tables unavailable to store customers and in particular a pox on those single customers who spread out on a 4-top table. read more

Barnes & Noble - Bookstores Near Me - Meridian, Idaho

This Barnes & Noble is... a lot. B&N has been updating the interior of stores across the country, and all new stores (this one included) seem to align with the new design. And honestly, I'm super underwhelmed. Or maybe overwhelmed. But definitely whelmed in not a good way. It feels like a massive airport bookstore. The selection is pretty big, but it's difficult to navigate. Despite super tall ceilings, big windows, clean lines, and organized shelves, it somehow feels cramped -- and not in a cozy bookstore kind of way, just in a claustrophobic kind of way. It was hard to find basic things like best sellers, for instance. Staff seemed swamped. Normally I like to peruse for a while, find a book I don't need to add to my TBR anytime I stop in. At this store, I just wanted to get out. Maybe it will be better after the store settles and gets a little more lived-in. But for now, I'll be making the drive out to the Barnes & Noble by the mall or ordering online from the comfort of my reading nook. read more

Great staff. They cater a lot around the kids. Especially with TCG's. I bring my daughter in there a lot and the staff is always so welcoming. read more

I love this location, it has a wonderful selection of books, there are places to sit, a bathroom you can use (believe it or not, I've been to a location that didn't have public restrooms available even for customers), there is a code though, so be sure to ask an employee before you head back there; and I was really impressed by all the seating in the cafe for people that like to work or study there! While I've been trying to support more local Indy stores lately, if they don't have something you're looking for and you need to go to Barnes, this is a beautiful location to be able to go to in Meridian! read more

I thought this was a nice place until I had to use the restroom. Let me tell you the auto store I went to before this place had a nicer restroom. The gaps were so big that the second I stepped in there I immediately made eye contact with another woman's bottom. After I was done doing my business, I glance up and I'm making direct eye contact with another woman waiting to use the restroom. Very dirty. No paper towels so you have no choice but to use the germ filled air dryer after washing your hands at the one single sink. Books are priced at twice what you could get from a target or Walmart, which would be understandable if they had the sense to put some of that money into their shoddy bathrooms. read more

When I went In to purchase the game of thrones box set I noticed it was cheaper online at Barnes and noble I took it to the front to ask about the price difference and John said "online doesn't match reality" I don't know what the point of that was no other explanation just that... read more
