The best that ever was! Love the book selection and the new location! Free parking is a definite bonus.

I normally love Independent Book Stores - I make a point of seeking them out when I am traveling. Rediscovered Books in Boise - they do greet you when you walk in, but if you are not one of their regulars - you are ignored. Great selection of books - cleverly arranged to peak your interest but when several (ok 2) employees walk past you several times without even trying to make eye contact - and nobody asks if you are looking for anything in particular - but employees are more focused on setting displays and getting ready for an author who is arriving in a few days.... they were not outright rude but bordering on it -I felt like I was intruding - not what I expect from a small, local store. Ample parking is nice though read more

My absolute favorite bookstore! With Half Price Books throwing out tons of books, and Barnes & Noble selling AI books, Rediscovered Books takes the cake. I adore them and the calming atmosphere! read more

I left a few minutes ago and asked the very kind & accommodating man with an accent about a book with "lesbian" in the title. The older blonde woman who was also working took it upon herself to insert herself and tell me that they have kids come into this store & continued to try and correct me on the title of the book ?? If you're gonna profit off of our lgbt+ community& market yourselves as a welcoming space maybe you should put your homophobic staff in check :) read more

Cute, but pricey... More sitting areas inside would be a nice option. More pleasant welcome in greetings when someone walks in, definite plus! read more

Love this new story. It's so big and airy, with all the books I was looking for and some I didn't know I was looking for. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly too. read more

Rediscovered Books was on my shortlist for a weekend trip to Boise a week ago and the day was Indie Bookstore Day. The vibe was perfect, the service spot on and the general selection excellent. I bought books, fridge magnets as gifts and wanted more, but hesitated due to weight restrictions on checked bags. Wishing San Diego had an indie bookstore with as wide a range of books in all genres and as pleasant a staff. Highly recommended for those traveling to Boise. read more

How have I never reviewed this gem of an independent bookseller in Boise? I have no idea. But, here we are. I've been going to Rediscovered books since way back when they were in a strip mall on Overland. I've attended book clubs here and love everything about all they have going on. They're now located in downtown Boise. They have a wide variety of books, tons of fun recommendations, and an overall cozy bookshop vibe. If you're not sure what you'd like to read--they are full of recommendations! They've definitely helped me find my next read on occasion. Now that I no longer live in Boise, I try to visit every time I make the trip to Boise. It's a must stop! Get to it! read more

Charming little bookstore in the heart of downtown Boise. Definitely a good place to find some good reads. Not an ideal place to sit and browse through a book or two as they have a very small sitting area. Really like their selection of gift options, too. Staff is pleasant as well. read more

This building is beautiful. Lots of natural light. The staff was friendly and helpful. They had a lot of options, and lots of cute bookish things. Pricing was similar to other bookstores. read more

Rediscovered Books is an absolute gem of Boise, I love supporting this local bookstore! Covid protocols include: limited number of people in store, mask required, and hand sanitizer required upon entry. The staff here at Rediscovered Books are so knowledgeable and helpful! I also really love the events (currently all on zoom/virtual) that this book store puts on, like their Human Rights book club that is hosted with the Wassmuth Center for human rights, and the Black History Museum. If you're Downtown, I highly suggest stopping by Rediscovered Books on 8th St and if you're looking for a particular book- their website makes it really easy to order online and either pickup in store or get it delivered! There is a great selection of new and used to choose from. You get a really good deal with buying books used - it's always fun to give a book new life. read more

The staff can find you the best books! Just ask. Their kid's section is chock-a-block with great books. I'll have to go back, sans kid, to look for something for myself read more

This is a GREAT bookstore. Wide selection, epic curation, and staffed by well-read people who love the written word. Can you ask for anything more? Stop in and be impressed. read more

It's great to have this indie bookstore in Boise. Who needs Amazon when we have this little gem?

I had a great experience this morning at Rediscovered Books. My little sister had requested a specific type of book for her birthday (philosophical fiction) and while I was happy to be trusted to pick something out I had no idea where to begin and decided to seek help at our local bookstore. Not only was I greeted and helped immediately upon entering, but I also found that the associate working (sorry for forgetting a name!) was a philosophy professor! She was friendly to all the shoppers in the store right now but her enthusiasm for being a perfect match for my request was palpable. I was quickly in and out with a great gift, a new rewards account, a holiday catalog, and directions to the company's used bookstore on State. Great service and happy experiences like these are a huge part of why I try to shop local:) read more

I can never resist a bookstore! We were in Boise and came across this gem downtown. They offer both new and used books. We were instantly greeted by a lovely lady as we walked in- my sister in law had only intended to buy "my Grandmother told me to tell you she's sorry" by Fredrik Blackman, and we both walked out with two books each! I'm sorry I can't remember the salesperson's name , but based on what we liked, she suggested All The Lonely People, by Mike Gayle, which we both bought, and I also bought The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah- I love to shop local wherever I am and whenever I can- I always appreciate the effort and the extra service that is usually offered because they are passionate about what they are doing. And this is certainly the case at Rediscovered Books. read more

What a cool bookstore! We wandered in and they had "book bingo", so if you got bingo, you were set up on a blind date with a book! Fun, right? That's my kinda date....books have never let me down. I also met a local author and bought her book while I was there. And I picked out a thriller novel as my "blind date". Sweet spot. Wish I lived here- I'd be going to their events all the time. read more

Great selection! Wonderful little bookstore in the downtown area. Quaint, cute and full of amazing reads. I'm always down to support our local bookstores! Typically priced books, with very nice people working! Check them out! read more

Enjoyed my visit at this downtown Boise book store! Pleasant and helpful customer service, friendly quality advice. Large book selection, and a good-sized youth selection. I enjoyed their Boise and/or Idaho-related items, including some cards and things with a sense of humor. The store was crowded on a weekend night, yet it was manageable and comfortable. I'll certainly visit again when I get to Boise. read more

Bookstores are one of my most precious spaces. Every time I get a little bit of "me" time these days, I beeline to a bookstore. Rediscovered Books is my favorite one. Not only is it local, it is very well run, and you can find a nice selection of used books! This place has been around for a while! I think they just celebrated their 13th (?) anniversary! They really know what they're doing by now. The shelves are nicely organized with clear labels. The displays are thoughtful and really help you pick out some mind candy. My favorite thing is their staff recommendations and picks. Every shelf has at least 1-2 short description and recommendation tags from the staff. It is so helpful and really helps you narrow down browsing. They have a great kid's section that my 4 year old loves. Lots of picture books, chapter books, graphic novels, and activity books. There are a few comfy places to park with your stack of books and peruse your treasures. read more

Books are very important to humans. And the best humans are the ones who frequent bookstores. Thats why my human brings me to the bookstore and I got a job cleaning the break room. I support reading "banned" books because reading new things helps humans be better and kinder to others. I'm named after two book characters and wrote a review of the series where my first name came from. Working on the second review! Mouse Otto. read more

Come on! What a cute place, with an awesome concept! The vibe was awesome, and it was in a great location! Go, go, go!

This local bookstore is worth supporting during these covid-19 days! They will drop off books on your doorstep and you can get caught up in your reading for the year! Reading books is different than listening to books on tape and Taps different parts of your brain. This is one of those small businesses that is worth supporting always but especially now! What have you been looking forward to reading? They have a store in Caldwell and Boise that you can choose from read more

Is there anything as wonderful as being surrounded by books? I think not! I stopped in here this past Saturday while I was at the market. I've come in a few times before but never purchased anything, so I could never speak for their prices. However, while in their shop a few days ago, I noticed the most gorgeous book art I've ever seen. I reached out and grabbed the book and it was "Peter Pan". I've been dying to get lost in a story book lately, so I decided before looking at the price that I was going to buy it! When they rang me up at the register, it wasn't even $8! Beyond having a fair price-point, this shop has a very friendly/helpful staff, great selection of books from various genres, and the loveliest atmosphere! If you find yourself walking around on 8th street, make sure you stop in here. You're bound to stumble across a great find! read more

This place has a bunch of weird people running it. Not very nice and socially awkward individuals. You would think it would different, friendly smiles and warm welcomes , eager to help. But instead, uncomfortable interactions. I won't return. Mostly everything is over priced. Amazon, here I come! read more

Really cute spot! New to the area and loved my experience here. One of the workers talked to me for a while about the book I picked up which was really nice. :) Prices are as expected for new books in a locally owned shop. Will happily return! read more

Great service and excellent selection of books. They have two locations so they can get you something quick if it's not on location.

A total gem of a bookstore in downtown Boise filled with great selections both current and not. I popped in before my flight back to SF and the selections were numerous with plenty of great choices being displayed to make the search a bit easier. Staff was nice and accommodating. Books separated by genre. Although the store doesn't have the most modern feel, it's nailed that small town vibe. read more

This is my favorite bookstore! It's got the perfect variety of books, from your everyday series to your cookbook, they'll probably have it. And I'm happy to say that despite being in idaho, it's extremely inclusive, and a safe space for anyone. This bookstore is queer run, and makes it their mission to have a diverse variety of books. They make sure to have sections of the store dedicated to LGBTQIA+ authors, BIPOC authors, AAPI authors, female authors, and Authors with disabilities (and issues their communities face). It's a relatively small space, but there's plenty of room to browse and spaces to sit down and read. The staff does read some of the books, and they put little sticky notes with reviews by the shelves! I also rlly appreciate how they have friendly employees who ask what you're looking for! They're like waiters/waitresses taking orders for the type of book you're in the mood for! They are also open to book discussions! Their staff is the best ever! Rediscovered, I love you! read more

I really want to like this bookstore. There is decent variety, and they aren't ridiculously overpriced. HOWEVER, my daughter and I stopped by on a whim to check out their selection. I am building quite an extensive library and need to fill it. I've never spent less than $100 happily on any trip. At the time we went, masks were not a requirement by state, city, or county standards. They had a "masks required" sign out front. I started to ask an employee standing just inside the door if there was a possibility I could go in without a mask. Before I could say more than "if I have a medical condition-", a thin, older woman with dirty blonde hair YELLED at me. "These rules apply to everyone!!!" She actually yelled this at me! What she didn't know was that not only do I have scar tissue throughout my lungs, so that any mask makes it very difficult to breathe, but that I also have a condition where I overheat easily. When I wear any mask for more than a few minutes, I overheat, which makes me pass out. I have already had covid. The bookstore was empty except for a couple of employees. Regardless, yelling at a customer is not acceptable, so I may not be back again. It is incredibly disappointing to know that whomever runs this bookstore is letting their 'pandemic panic' control the quality of customer service at this store. And to think they are surrounded by so many books, many of which must be filled with proper knowledge about how diseases behave...I guess one can lead a horse to water, but cannot make them drink. read more

Rediscovered Books - Bookstores Near Me - Boise, Idaho

I really loved this bookstore. There are not very many left nowadays since libraries are free and a lot of books can be stored on your kindle or a simple smartphone. Despite owning most of my favorite texts stockpiled electronically on one very famous resource I miss that old feeling of holding and reading an actual book. This store offers a great selection of used and new books on different topics. They also organize some meetings , where you can meet the author and discuss the literature which is very cool. The only thing that might be not very beneficial for this business it is located downtown so it is not always easy to park within the reasonable walking distance.Walking is not an issue for me I am an avid walker it is just this eternal nagging question : Where the duck do(did) I park ? One of the very few advantages of living in the middle of nowhere : parking spots are everywhere. Needless to say if the closest parking spot I could find is past the State Capitol building it kinda limits the number of books I can carry. So it is another awesome store, but make sure your hotel is not too far away if you are just visiting Boise. read more
