In a world of all these tech books, kindle, auto books, etc. I still enjoy going to the book store, walking around, finding a book, maybe read a couple pages and buying it to bring home and snuggle under a blanket. Nothing like an actual book to read, and flipping through the pages. I never noticed and I wonder if they did it on purpose, but their horror section is literally right next to the romance section. I find it humorous. Wonder if it was planned on purpose. So many great books, and craft kits. Love that they have some seating around the Starbucks inside. Grab a drink, a seat, read a book. Relaxing, you're in your own little world and close out everything else. This Barnes and Noble is in an outdoor mall. So you can find parking all around. read more

My fiancé & I went here a few weeks ago, and really liked it. The business/self help section they had was huge, with a whole bunch of different books to pick and choose from. I got a few books, including one by David Goggins and also a Chicken Soup for the Soul book as well (which I am enjoying reading). They also have a coffee shop inside the store too. read more

I do not recommend this location. They had about 10 Nora Roberts books and about 6 Danielle Steel books. The bathrooms were HORRENDOUS. The toilets were black and there's crud about a foot up the wall. I'm not sure they've ever been cleaned. The staff were nice though. read more

Haven't been to a book store in a long time. Could not believe the amount of liberal ideology upfront and center on every shelf. Besides the fact that every book is at least $20 now, I saw nothing worth buying. I tried looking for even a somewhat conservative book and all I saw was something about how conservatives are "brainwashing youth". Located right around the corner from Whole Foods is my next favorite relaxing spot - good ol' Barnes n' Noble! This one is great compared to the one in Houston. Staff were helpful and didn't mind me sitting around reading to kill some time in the evening when I just didn't want to sit around in the hotel. I ended up buying loads of obscure history-related magazines that I never would have found on the internet. read more

While doing some shopping at the Hill Country Galleria yesterday with my Pup I decided to stop in and look for some rainy day reading material. I new they were dog friendly but wow they are friendly! Several employees asked if they could say "hi" to my pup and even offered her a treat! The gal helping me made some great suggestions on dog reads and was super friendly and passionate about her job and reading. I ended up getting a book for my Pup - 101 Dog Tricks with great illustrations! If you bring your dog in just make sure they are well behaved and stay away from the cafe. When I think of places I can take my son for some play time; Barnes and Noble always comes to mind. Here is some quick reasons why: Train Table for Rooster Starbucks for Rooster Sr. Superb Staff Friendly folks hanging out with their children This location is new and super clean. The staff loves to see my son make his way thru the aisles just running around saying hi to everyone. I manage the aftermath by running behind Rooster returning books to their original location. Rooster is so tired after 40 minutes of mayhem; he sleeps for two hours when we get home. Daddy sometimes gets a nap too. 4 stars for Daddy's nap and thanks to B&N. read more

Barnes & Noble is the McDonald's of my world: I know what they have, I can find one in any city, and I can get in and out quickly or stay and lounge and smile a lot. If you think about it, there's really nothing at a McDonald's that requires you to have teeth. My hood B&N is the Arboretum one, but I wound up here on Sunday afternoon because I needed a copy of the George Jung story; the Westlake B&N where I was at didn't have it, but found it for me at the HIll Country store. Cool. Whatever you think about the outdoor mall concept, this place has one great Barnes and Noble. My main comparison among B&N's is what they carry in the bargain rows, and this place is full of varietals. Easy to go broke saving money here. I don't remember whether the coffee respite was from a genuine Starbucks or a Barnes & Noble Cafe serving genuine Starbucks (how do they determine who gets what anyway?), but I do remember there's an Amy's across the fountain plaza, which always intrigues me. One final guy note: Personally, the most attractive women I've seen lately have been at Barnes and Noble: For me, it's less about the sultry tease of slow page-turning, but more of a burgeoning inner-poet ideal of women who don't alter reality with bar shots, but embrace it through awareness. Well, you certainly won't find any surprises at this location if you trekked out here from town, but if you are n Oak Hill or further west dweller, why would you battle Brodie Lane when you have all the same stores out here? This location is equally as nice and has all the sales the other store have. Since, Hill Country is a little on the undiscovered side, parking is easy, and it's part of the larger pleasant scene, which is Hill Country Galleria. Does anyone know why Bee Caves (pop 500) needs a city hall that big? read more

Bring a pullover, sweater, coat etc. It's always chilli in here. Especially in the Starbucks cafe. It's probably to ward of the vagrants that are squatting. You may want to reconsider your shirt selection as well for those of you that are rocktit challenged. read more

This review is only for the Cafe inside Barnes & Noble. The girl at the register did not know what a double espresso was and I had to explain it was 2 shots of espresso and then she asked what size? Again, it is only 2 little shots of espresso in a glass. I asked the barista if he could add just a little whipped cream to it and he said next time I have to ask for it when I place my order because whipped cream costs extra. I told him none of the other Starbucks make a big deal if I ask for it and he rudely told me they are not Starbucks, they are Barnes and Noble and they follow ALL policies. Which I knew they were just a licensee of Starbucks but jeez, he didn't have to talk down to me. But you know he was right, they are not Starbucks which is why from now on I will drive across Bee Caves and give my money to a REAL Starbucks even though I work in the Hill Country Galleria. read more

Was looking forward to a coffee and wrapping up some work on my laptop. Only two outlets in the entire cafe and when someone was nice enough to share one with me the associate working with super short hair told me I wasn't allowed to plug in my laptop. She made me sit in a chair on the other side of the cafe without a table and told me that is my only option. So with. Cord hanging over the wall I sat in a chair and finished my work. But I won't be coming back. This woman could have done the right thing and helped me with a solution. I'm really disappointed in her. read more

This is a review only of the cafe in this Barnes and Noble. I can not stand it when I get bad customer service. The barista basically told me I was an idiot when I insisted that my drink was normally made with three shots, not two as he had made it. Why would I pay $1.50 more for just some extra milk? He told me he would give me another shot of espresso for .60 to which I agreed. When I waited in line (again) to have this rung up and told the guy what I needed him to ring me up for....he said "oh, you don't have to pay for that" and basically told the guy who told me I was an idiot that he was wrong. Bookstore is always a good place for family weekend short trip. People has a coffee and wander around looking for books they are interested or go directly buy a book and sit down enjoy it a bit. The environment is quiet, spacious and organized. I am always inspired by new books. And they have bargain books shelf, usually 50% off. I always check it out and find some really good books. read more

I would have given this location five stars based on inventory, cleanliness, and location; however, the cashier, Camile K., was so rude to me just now. She asked if I was a member and I said I was going to skip it because I typically read books on my Kindle so that I can adjust the font size. (Sorry, eyes aren't the greatest, so sue me Camile.) Absolutely my favorite B&N of any place I've lived. Spacious and extremely friendly store; great staff. I've never felt rushed or ignored. Very nice vibe and love the selection of bargain books, especially the hardbacks - as well as new titles.
