I am so happy I found Huntington Beach Prosthodontics. Dr. Janelle Cheong did my cleaning, and she was incredibly thorough, kind, and gentle. She carefully examined every tooth, identified any problem areas, and took the time to explain everything to me. She never made me feel rushed, and I truly appreciated how genuine and caring she was. You can tell she really cares about her patients. I also saw Dr. Favian Cheong to repair a cracked filling, and I think that's the real test of a dental office. He was exceptionally gentle. I honestly didn't even feel the numbing injection. Throughout the procedure, he checked on me constantly, made sure I was comfortable, and gave me small breaks when I needed them. I also had a white spot on one of my teeth that I didn't think could be fixed. Dr. Cheong explained that it was actually a small surface cavity and was able to treat it quickly without any numbing. He explained everything he was doing and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. I've always struggled with going to the dentist because of a traumatic childhood experience. On top of that, I've recently been dealing with health issues affecting my ears, so dental visits have been especially difficult. This is the first office in a long time where I truly felt at peace. Another thing I really appreciated was the front office staff. They carefully reviewed all of my treatment costs before any work was done, so there were no surprises or confusing billing afterward. One thing that really sets this practice apart is that the dentists perform the cleanings themselves, with assistance from their dental assistants. That level of involvement makes a noticeable difference. It was one of the most thorough cleanings I've ever had. Dr. Janelle Cheong and Dr. Favian Cheong recently took over this practice, and it shows how much they care about providing exceptional dentistry. Thats when we knew it was serious. I took him to an oral surgeon who told me he had to have all 4 teeth removed, under general anesthesia for an hour. I have delta dental DPO and it was still going to cost me 1500 dollars, yeah right... My son didn't want to have general anesthesia so we said thanks but no thanks. Luckily, the pain seemed to subside for a day or two. A few days later his teeth began to hurt again... I called 6 dentists to see who could see him as I felt I really needed a second opinion. The 7th call did the trick and the person who answered the phone was kind, understanding and most importantly really heard me when I said my son was in pain. She didn't respond with, "we can see him maybe in a month" like a few others did. She listened attentively and put me on hold. She returned a few min later saying they could work him in at 2pm. I made this call at 10:15am. That's quick! The office was easy to find, they have the good x ray machine and everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. Now lets talk about Dr. Ngo. Dr. Ngo is hands down the very best dentist I have ever laid eyes on. I mean the best, like top .05 percent in his field. He took the time to explain to my son and I with a model the importance of flossing, how we get cavities, and really tried to help my 17 year old kid understand that taking care of his teeth is important. He is legit. He recommended my sons 3 wisdom teeth be removed and said the other one hadn't even come through yet. He did not pressure us. He gave my son and I time to talk about what my son wanted to do. My son had a similar impression of Dr. Ngo and was comfortable letting him work on his teeth. With my insurance it was no cost to us. Read that again; 3 wisdom teeth; not 4. NO COST TO US. Now here comes the good part, we agree to have the wisdom teeth pulled and he said he could do it today. All we had to do was wait a little bit. OK. We waited like 5 min and than they started numbing up my son and he was out of that chair with all three wisdom teeth pulled in literally less than 45 minutes. I think it was actually 35 to be honest. They are next door to Ralphs so I had taken the time I would have spent in the waiting room to run over and get my son some apple sauce and soup. Before I was able to get in line, my son text me saying he was ready. Impressive! I highly recommend Dr. Ngo because he is honest, friendly and his office staff including his dental assistants all went out of their way to make my son comfortable. At one point I had stepped out and the dental assistant was teaching him how to use the prongs thing that sucks up spit. Who does that???? These guys are the real deal. I will be back to see him myself. My only trepidation is that when I return he will realize I haven't been flossing as much as I should! LOL. We shall see!

Dr. Dang explained everything in depth of how my 1 year treatment would work and it was super easy and painless to follow the instructions and keep up with the procedure. I even lost a set of retainers once and the replacement was quick and easy to get which made me happy after going through my treatment for a year. I was quoted approximately $2,500 for a crown with the necessary foundation work, which seems well above the typical rates in the Huntington Beach area. In my experience, comparable treatment can be found at a lower cost in nearby Newport Beach. Additionally, the office is on the smaller side, and parking is limited, which can make visits a bit less convenient. Sorry, Dr. Khan--your expertise is priceless... unfortunately, my wallet strongly disagrees. LOL
