Thats when we knew it was serious. I took him to an oral surgeon who told me he had to have all 4 teeth removed, under general anesthesia for an hour. I have delta dental DPO and it was still going to cost me 1500 dollars, yeah right... My son didn't want to have general anesthesia so we said thanks but no thanks. Luckily, the pain seemed to subside for a day or two. A few days later his teeth began to hurt again... I called 6 dentists to see who could see him as I felt I really needed a second opinion. The 7th call did the trick and the person who answered the phone was kind, understanding and most importantly really heard me when I said my son was in pain. She didn't respond with, "we can see him maybe in a month" like a few others did. She listened attentively and put me on hold. She returned a few min later saying they could work him in at 2pm. I made this call at 10:15am. That's quick! The office was easy to find, they have the good x ray machine and everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. Now lets talk about Dr. Ngo. Dr. Ngo is hands down the very best dentist I have ever laid eyes on. I mean the best, like top .05 percent in his field. He took the time to explain to my son and I with a model the importance of flossing, how we get cavities, and really tried to help my 17 year old kid understand that taking care of his teeth is important. He is legit. He recommended my sons 3 wisdom teeth be removed and said the other one hadn't even come through yet. He did not pressure us. He gave my son and I time to talk about what my son wanted to do. My son had a similar impression of Dr. Ngo and was comfortable letting him work on his teeth. With my insurance it was no cost to us. Read that again; 3 wisdom teeth; not 4. NO COST TO US. Now here comes the good part, we agree to have the wisdom teeth pulled and he said he could do it today. All we had to do was wait a little bit. OK. We waited like 5 min and than they started numbing up my son and he was out of that chair with all three wisdom teeth pulled in literally less than 45 minutes. I think it was actually 35 to be honest. They are next door to Ralphs so I had taken the time I would have spent in the waiting room to run over and get my son some apple sauce and soup. Before I was able to get in line, my son text me saying he was ready. Impressive! I highly recommend Dr. Ngo because he is honest, friendly and his office staff including his dental assistants all went out of their way to make my son comfortable. At one point I had stepped out and the dental assistant was teaching him how to use the prongs thing that sucks up spit. Who does that???? These guys are the real deal. I will be back to see him myself. My only trepidation is that when I return he will realize I haven't been flossing as much as I should! LOL. We shall see!

I had 1 implant done over 20 years ago done by the 1st dental implant dentist in Little Saigon, he literally had a degree in implant dentistry not just like most dentists learn by taking a course on week ends then winging it. Unfortunately he drowned while scuba diving in Laguna Beach. It lasted 20 years and last year it broke, I have waited this long to have a new implant bc of cost and fear it may fail or worse it might hit the sinus as it's on the upper jaw. I knew somebody who had her sinus punctured, she suffered lifelong pain, she spoke no English and did not have justice for all her pain, that dentist did have his license suspended for years. With that background I thought about this long and hard before I had a new implant. My sister had a rotten tooth no dentists wanted to save it, she accidentally came across Dr Michael Dong and he saved her tooth. I had one crown that broke from chewing I think one of those steaks that was as tough as my leather boots, the Beach dentist told me it could not be saved and I should have an implant for $5,000, w a glut of dentists in OC, I'm shocked most dentists are still ganging up on the public. What can possibly justify $5,000. I posted my implant crown made of the best zirconium. I decided to go to Dr Dong if he could save my sister tooth he could save my tooth. He put on a new crown and it has lasted over a year and counting, that crown is the most prominent molar to keep my mouth healthy, an implant is a very invasive procedure and it can weaken the jaw unless of course it's the last resort so you can eat. I'm eternally grateful he has done what others refuse to even discuss it. I waited till after 1 year to write this review especially after I have an implant finally successfully placed next to the crown mentioned above. An implant takes almost a year to do, all the BS ads about instant implants are just that, BS/fake news. I don't know if it will work as intended and be stable in my mouth till at least a few month to a year but 1 thing is clear to me, having the implant stabilizes other teeth and keep my smile intact! . I still have more work to be done, my 2 front teeth kept on moving and now I have a gap which gets worse by the day and moved 1 tooth higher than the next one, the gap is not as noticeable yet but food keep on getting in while I eat and it can cause my gum to bleed not counting it looks unsightly if I eat w company. I would need 2 crowns to close the gap, more pain and worry the outcome might be worse. It's funny I'm the only person posting pictures. It's horrible a Yelpie complained about Dr Dong bedside manners, pl be informed Dr Dong is Asian and many Asians do not high five, back slap or engage in pleasantries so they might come across as unfriendly or worse rude but rest assured it was misunderstanding. I have been going to dentists in 3 continents, spent a fortune on dentists and he saves my smile. It's true they don't return phone calls as often or timely as it should be but he saved my teeth others cannot or will not bother, he's not pushing for implants I was the one pushing for it to be done! I was cautious enough waiting for results almost 2 years after the work before I write this accurate and objective review Dr Dong is gentle, most dentists are brutal, they jammed the needle to inject the Lidocaine causing extreme pain and numbness for 4,5 hours, the cheek literally puffed out deformed so numb it was impossible to eat. Dr Dong, God bless him is a magician, he put in the right amount of anesthetic I never felt pain and surprise surprise 30 min after each visit, no more numbness, today he didn't even use any anesthesia and I had no pain, it was simply amazing. I highly recommend Dr Dong for all dentistry work and all I can say is I'LL BE BAAACCKK!

She was very gentle, listened to my concerns, addressed all of my needs thoughtfully, and properly educated me on prevention and maintaining good oral health. Before my appointment was over, she had Dr. Khan examine me to see whether braces or Invisalign would be a better option for me.
