Affordable and well-run, even on a low-occupancy Monday. They even provided free firewood at the tent site. Be sure to check out their cabins. They look really cute and comfy. Only downside, tenting, is that due to Hwy 6 construction, lots of detour traffic goes right by Red Rider. Kinda noisy, but didn't disturb my sleep after 7 hours pounding the Cuyuna Bike Trails!

My dad didn't spend a lot of time at his seasonal site last year, because he was taking care of my mother. Now that she has passed, he doesn't have his seasonal site to enjoy this year and beyond. There was a ton of staff around and everyone was very helpful and friendly. There was a young woman at the front desk that we worked with the most often and she was very kind in explaining how the place worked and what was complimentary and what cost extra. We were guided to our camp site by a staff member on a golf cart which was very helpful as it was packed when we arrived. Despite the campground being full everyone was respectful and there was average noise for a populated area. We stayed Sunday night and then there were lots of spaces available. If you have the time to stay midweek I definitely recommend it. All the amenities were still available with a lot less people around. There were several flushing toilets, dog spaces and other amenities. We didn't have time to golf but wish we could have. We did try the pizza and it was delicious. We went tubing down the river and were warned that it is not a lazy river and that some steering would be required at times. The trip took about 2.5 hours for us and there were several trees and rocks to navigate. Still lots of fun but more of a work out than I anticipated. We loved this campground, and even though it was more than we usually spend on a site, it was worth it. We look forward to returning in the future.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception here (Sept 2014) and it was AMAZING. We got married on…read morethe lawn between the barn and the lake, afterwards our guests headed inside for drinks and dinner. We ended our night playing yard games outside and making s'mores around a fire. It was a great time! Larson's Barn has a beautiful dance floor that we used for our first dance. Kathy is very easy to work with, even when we got there late to set-up the day before. There was a frost warning the day before the wedding and Kathy was sure to cover all of the flower beds. The next day although jack frost had come through all of the plants and flowers looked great. Since our entire group was from out of the area we also rented the small cabin and the under the barn apartment for the weekend. It was great for all of the bridesmaids and groomsman to be onsite, less stressful for everyone. We even had a hairstylist come out to the barn to do the girls hair. Everything was very convenient for being in the country of MN.
