Kevin installed a garage screen for us. 2 weeks later it's limit and kept stopping higher and higher till it was 2 inches off the floor. He came back and temporarily fixed. 2 weeks later it did the same thing. He came back and said I need a new motor and ordered one. 1 month later had to call and see if new meter was in. He said yes I'll come out. put new mower in. 2 weeks later it started again. He came out and was puzzled. Said this has never happened before. Tried to say I left something in the way, uh no! He fixed it. It started doing it again. He came out again and now it's doing it again. He may say he has been doing this for 30 years but I have my doubts. So not going to call again. Plus the electric is not code. If it was me I would order a whole new screen. 3000 bucks down the tube. Get a professional. Not an amateur. read more

Outstanding service price and quality of work. Needed a service call on my garage screen which was installed by shade brothers to the previous owner. First off when I called shade brothers they informed me there was no warranty as I was not the original purchaser. They wanted $150.00 to send a tech out to look at it. I called the manufacturer of the motor and they recommended Barlow tri-county could not have been happier with the work done and the price to reset my limits. Highly recommend this company read more

BUYER BEWARE! - This contractor does NOT follow the standard guidelines for proper electrical installations! My parents had a motorized power screen installed over the face of their garage door just a couple weeks ago. Because no outlet was available at the point where the power screen motor was installed, he took it upon himself to poke a hole in the ceiling and run an indoor/outdoor extension cord inside the attic to power the screen motor. This installation will NOT pass an inspection when you decide to sell your home, so you will have to hire an electrician at your OWN expense when you decide to sell your home. His response to pointing out this will not pass a home inspection: "inspectors that want to charge more money for a second trip". When asked why he took the shortcut, he responded with "it is how we do things and will continue to do things", then states his contract says it requires an outlet to perform the install. He should have delayed the installation until the proper outlet was made available. I very politely gave him multiple opportunities to correct his code violations and he refused, stating that an electrician needs to perform the install if the customer wants the install completed to code standards. He certainly wasted no time in taking an elderly person's money to complete an install, knowing it is a fire risk to the customer's home by installing an extension cord in the attic. When using metal boxes, they are required to be grounded to avoid a shock hazard (and to also pass a home inspection). This was not completed properly as well, see images attached. Ground wire was NOT tied to the box. I will be bringing his code violations to attention of the HOA so he cannot perform more installations in our community any longer. The other complaint I brought to his attention was that the motor wire was very tight against the garage door mount bracket, which has a very sharp edge and could cut the wire. Because of my code violation complaints, he also did not correct this issue either. *Note that my complaint is with the installer, not the manufacturer of the power screen. The manufacturer was very attentive to my questions and offered to step up and try to correct this situation. read more
