When I picked my dog up, her bangs were cut completely off and she looked like a boy dog. I called to talk to them about it and they were very rude and said she couldn't put the hair back on - of course you can't, but this wouldn't be a problem if they had done what I asked. And she didn't care about me leaving a negative review. I hope they enjoy the money they got from me because I will never take my dog there again.

We brought our puppy that has never been groomed before and she was being quite difficult, so they suggested we bring her back in a few days later so she can get more used to the setting and the clippers etc., and we really appreciated the thoughtful way they handled that. Our other dog who's used to grooming did great and they did a great job with him.

We have taken our dog Zoey for grooming for a few years. This last year we have had a number of…read moreissues. Biggest one is (apparently) shampoo or other chemical in her eyes. This time has been the worse. Both eyes flame red, watering and she prefers to lay with her eyes closed. She can see when she walks, but who knows how well! We have put drops in her eyes which has helped. Last two times it took a couple days for Zoey to stop rubbing her eyes. That was one eye each time. This time it's both. We will be at our vet if this is not continually improving the next 24 hours. One time is an oops, multiple times is incompetence. We will not be returning to Posh Pets grooming any longer. We will be at our vets on Monday to insure Zoey is OK. Absolutely no longer recommend this groomer!

I used to absolutely love this location and so did my fur baby! About 6 months ago, they changed…read moremanagement and it has gone downhill. My pup used to come home exhausted and happy after a full day of play but then was coming home anxious and with gi issues because she was crated for sometimes 3 hours or more at a time. We don't choose daycare for her to be kenneled in a small cage. Many of her favorite 2 legged friends have left and the new staff is not nearly as engaging. We had, for over a year, standing reservations for Monday and Thursday daycare set up (indefinitely,) and all of a sudden our reservations are gone and they have no availability for 3 weeks. I was told it must have been a "computer glitch" which frankly was the final straw. I strongly suspect it is due to the fact I have been vocal on more than one occasion about the extended crate times and short play times. I give 2 stars because if you're looking to board your dog, Canine to five will meet your needs. If you're looking for your dog to come home happily exhausted after playing with their friends, this place no longer comes anywhere close to making that happen. The only exhaustion you're likely to see will be anxiety-induced from being crated for more than half the day.

We had three requests...one dog had a nodule on his head and we asked to scissor cut around it. TThey didn't listen and shaved over the spot causing it to bleed. Request #2 cut to 1/2 inch. Their faces are at least 1 1/2 inches long, uneven and look like they were done by the receptionist! Request #3 cut the tail fur shorter and thin it out. If anything, this was the puffiest tail I've ever seen! I even left a tip because I did t take a good look at them until we were home. We definitely won't be back.

I took my two dogs to Woodward Ave Dog Grooming in Royal Oak for the first time today, and…read moreunfortunately, it will also be the last. I was initially told the grooming would take about three hours, but it ended up taking 5 hours--far longer than any other groomer I've used. Typically, my dogs are finished in 2 to 2.5 hours, so this was excessive. The pricing was also disappointing. The base price is $75 per dog, but nearly everything else is an add-on--$5 for teeth brushing, $5 for ear cleaning, $5 for nail grinding. If you want the "works," it's $95 per dog, and given how long they already took, I can only imagine how much longer that would have added. When I expressed my frustration about the long wait, the owner explained that her daughter, who is newer to grooming, was taking her time. While I understand the need for practice, I don't think that should come at the expense of the customer's time, especially without any communication. I had to call after three hours to check in, as no one had reached out to let me know it would take longer. To top it off, I was told my dogs were "difficult"--not aggressive, just difficult. In 13 years of grooming, no one has ever said this. Perhaps an experienced groomer would have been able to handle them more efficiently. Overall, this was a disappointing experience--too long, too expensive, and not handled professionally. If you value your time and want a straightforward grooming experience, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
