Also hand painted glassware by a local preschool teacher. They have great ornaments made by a retired nurse. I love this gallery, it's our favorite place to stop in Bethany Beach! The owners are so nice, too. They have local images of the area and do custom sizes. One really nice thing, they always give shells to my children or let them play with finger puppets while my husband and I look around the Gallery. They even let our dog in, while we have our morning coffee. Absolutely one of the nicest, most beautiful places at the beach! We shop there every trip to Bethany Beach.!

It is packed with fabulous unique items related to the beach, music, travel, and other life's pleasures. There are gifts and prints that fit every price point and most of them are one-of-a-kind. I visited this area numerous times during the summer and, besides adding to my Beach Town Posters collection, never failed to find thoughtful host gifts or souvenirs here. The store ambience is welcoming and fun, always with great music playing. The staff is really helpful and lovely.

A cautious shopper should wonder why that is. Upon entering, I noticed that these items appeared mass produced, as if a shop in China just cranked them out. Look closely and you'll see the same barn and silo over and over, with simply different color schemes and seasons around it. I asked the salesperson "Where do your artists come from? Are they local?" And she replied "oh they're from all over." Interesting... vague... so I pointed to a piece "Can you tell me about this artist?" and she replied "I think my brother-in-law painted that one." A joke? But again a curious deflection. Reading these Yelp reviews makes me raise my eyebrow even higher. "50%-70% off" seems to be an ongoing, continuous sale for the past 5+ years. One reviewer pointed out that she received an additional discount for being a new customer. Another for being a return customer. This isn't art. This is tacky. Ask any artist. Stroll down the mall into the other galleries and see what real art looks like, and how real galleries interact with customers. The goal of Cape May Art Gallery is in volume - to get people to buy as much of this faux art as possible to make a profit. That being said, people are comfortable decorating their walls with art from Home Goods and Marshall's, and that's fine. Just know that it's a similar quality here, despite being originals. If it seems too good to be true...

The store is roomy, and the walls are filled from floor to ceiling with beautiful hand painted oil on canvas. The lady was extremely friendly and accommodating, showing us different versions of similar paces, pulling them in and out of various frames. The paintings are beautiful and they source from various artists around the world so there is a good variety of styles to be found. The prices are extremely fair for what you are getting and the frames are beautiful. I ended up buying a medium sized piece on a whim. I came back later to pick it up and ended up purchasing a second piece. I am aware that there's a cheaper and larger gallery a few stores over, but the ambiance is completely different, as well as the products. I definitely prefer Park Place Gallery.
