This place is right on the boardwalk and has a really interesting exterior. Inside is almost the same as the outside with "artwork" everywhere! I am not sure if there is any real fine art here or if the stuff is just tourist stuff. I didn't get very far inside as I became uninterested in exploring the mess. read more

While I didn't find anything in here, it's definitely a unique establishment on the OC boardwalk. Certainly stands out. Don't forget to check out the Ocean Gallery vehicle as well. Inside there is a lot of art stacked everywhere. A bit claustrophobic but hey, it's a chance to get out of the sun! They had paintings as well as posters. The holographic prints of Marvel and DC characters for 19.99 stood out as good gift options. Worth a look. read more

I've been coming to Ocean City MD for years and one of the more intriguing places on the boardwalk is the Ocean Gallery. I remember seeing this place for as long as I can remember and Its always a staple whenever I visit the boardwalk! The outside of the building with all the paintings catches your eye and draws you in like none other On the inside there is so much to look at it could be overwhelming, you could get lost in the sea of paintings. I'm not an art collector or anything but the prices seem fair too. That being said its definitely a great place to walk around, kill some time and perhaps find something you really like. read more

Great place to dip into to beat the heat for a while. Lots interesting pieces, a little something for everyone here. Tons of art everywhere, it would take all day to give it a comprehensive look over. I bought An Escher print here over 20 years ago, still have it somewhere in the basement I think. I feel as if you either love it or hate it, either way , it is worth the experience! I've been in this shop several times, never once have I seen anyone buy anything or even consider buying anything... not quite sure how this guy stays in business but maybe that is what it seems this place is going out of business each and every year. If you are looking for some cool wall "art" and I use the term art loosely, this place will have what you are looking for. Unique gallery with huge personality and variety. This establishment is a must visit spot on the Ocean City boardwalk. There are paintings, posters, pictures stacked everywhere! Sunday, July 22nd approximately 10pm As someone who has grown up visiting Ocean City and frequenting the boardwalk this visit was rather surprising in an uncomfortable way. You see the one-of-a-kind storefront and you are drawn to it. When I was a kid I got one of my favorite Muhammad Ali posters and always looked forward to roaming the store through the hundreds of thousands of posters and paintings, but this visit was disappointing. As we stood in front of the counter the owner didn't immediately look at us or greet us as he had to the person who was leaving as we got there... He offered a forced "Hello" to which I replied "Hi, how are you?"... silence... we held our two posters and he pointed to the counter as though he wanted for us to place them down before charging us and bagging them. He spat out "Card or cash", we handed him our card, he ran the card and TOSSED it back into the counter. He didn't pick it up, he didn't apologize, he left it there... as though putting the card in our hand would have burned him or transferred some imaginary disease.... We got a dry "come back and see us," but after that interaction that won't happen. Years of wonder and joy stripped in that immediate moment... I am bi-racial and have encountered my share of prejudices but I usually brush it off and assume they're having a bad day (we all have them), but this was unprecedented and immediately made me regret my purchase. Whether intentional or not this was not a pleasant visit and I don't intend to return. Trust me, I know that doesn't matter because there are thousands of people that will still visit, but to me it's huge because I've always looked forward to stopping by Ocean Gallery. I don't write reviews, but this was heavy on my spirit. read more

This gallery is so full of amazing artwork that you really cannot see any of the walls in the place! From the outside, it doesn't look like much. Inside, however, are 3 levels chock full of artwork. Some is beach based, others are funny, some include celebrities. It's really a fascinating place to visit when you're walking along the boardwalk. The prices are also very fair considering the beautiful artwork that they sell. They're in the process of downsizing but I can pretty much guarantee they'll still have a huge selection to choose from. read more

Quite an interesting place and definitely "sticks out" from the rest of the usual Boardwalk claptrap. My husband wasn't quite as fond of the place and didn't want to stick around for too long (probably because it IS quite claustrophobic in there - the offerings are stacked from floor to ceiling and there's little pathways to navigate), but I loved it, myself. If you're looking for any type of artwork, picture, poster or lithograph, this business most likely has it. The prices are fairly reasonable for what's being offered. Like it or not, Ocean Gallery does attract quite a crowd (probably another reason why my husband wasn't wild about it). Do be careful when walking around and expect to bump into people around every corner. It's worth seeing at least once, but I'll definitely be back to check this place out further. read more

You just have to look inside this gallery of art (paintings, prints, other stuff) when you're striding by on the boardwalk. While I was there a guy bought 3 oil paintings of beach scenes that the clerk hooked down from the ceiling using a big stick. I also saw people walking on the boardwalk with paintings under their arms that they'd bought at the end of season sale. This is a unique store on the boardwalk and one of these days I'm gonna get me one of those pseudo-impressionistic colorful cute beach oil paintings for $88 when I can figure out where to hang it in my house. read more

The inside is as chaotic as the outside. There was a Michael Jackson memorial on the side of the wall with a dirty gardening glove nailed to it? I knew we were in trouble! We ventured up the creaky steep staircase around the back of the building only to enter into a dim lit, ominous, old wooden hallway. Creepy! I wanted to leave! We opened the door and it was floor to ceiling prints, some were way outdated.. There was little room to navigate. It felt schizophrenic in there! read more

Amazing place. When my girlfriend and I were on the Ferris Wheel, we saw a spotlight coming from somewhere, and we decided we had to find where it was coming from. It turns out it was coming from this place. It has three floors, but it can get a little crowded since there's some tight fits sometimes. Great prices, great staff, and great selection. read more

This place is great! You'd never think they would be able to cram so much stuff in a boardwalk shack. They fill every SQUARE inch with some type of art. Meaning, they have paintings hanging from the ceiling all over the place. I didn't purchase anything, but as a photographer, I was intrigued to venture in there. The art was spectacular, and again, there was LOTS of it. Even on the outside exterior of the building there was art covering the wall!! Go figure !! Holy unbelievable crazy stuff, Batman.....this is a quirky place! There are so many unexpected parts of a visit to Ocean Gallery that it's hard to do it justice. I've stopped in for the last 20 years on our trips and always left chuckling over something. Joe (the owner) is a "unique" guy who seems to get a kick out of entertaining folks. But the place is full of great artwork (prints, posters) too if you just take time to look around (claustrophobic people be warned - it's packed inside....). The Batmobile/"recycled parts car" on the side of the building is especially noteworthy. I was fortunate/unfortunate enough to be present when the car was put in the garage last summer....and it runs very much like it looks (but it runs...sort of...). Anyone who doesn't appreciate this place totally missed the point......the building/business must have taken the guy's lifetime to build, and he did it his own way (because really, who else would do it like that?....). It's one of a few true Ocean City landmarks left on the boardwalk. Whether you're shopping or not, it's definitely worth a visit to see this place. read more

OC Gallery is an Ocean City Landmark. I have been taking my children, grandchildren and out-of-town visitors there for over 30 years. I love to watch their reactions! Since the inventory changes daily there is always something new and FASCINATING to see. They feature and promote several local artists, including the owner and principals who "work" there for the last 50 years. The gallery and staff are eccentric in the best possible way. The framing is perfection ~ inexpensive, professional and fast. I would highly recommend OC Gallery to anyone visiting Ocean City. You won't be disappointed. read more

I was so excited to go in here - what an ABSOLUTE letdown. We visit OCMD every year but I never had a reason to buy artwork until this year. We purchased our first home and I wanted to have some artwork from Ocean City to bring home with me. The main front door was closed all week (they are closed Monday and Tuesday as well as weather based and it was windy out). We noticed a sign on Wednesday that they were opened but we had to go through the back. The stairs were frightening and the place inside is an absolute mess. We were in there for about 10 minutes and someone yelled from the other room they were closing. Then they came through and found us and abruptly said "you gotta go" because they were getting a delivery. I can't believe they kicked us out without any warning. He actually followed us out to make sure we were leaving.. they emptied the store of about 10 people like we were cattle and they were herding us out. Absolutely terrible way to run a business. It was 3pm (the sign says they close at 4) and one guy said it would only take 20 minutes to unload the truck - but the other rudely said they were done and open the next day at 10am. I will never go back and I highly recommend anyone ever stopping there. read more
