Need advise - my sister's wedding dress was damaged by "fine dry cleaning" company BARKER's. wedding is in two weeks and the wedding dress was damaged by this FINE dry cleaning place. We had been rudely insulted, shouted at by the owner Tony and threatened with violence if we didn't leave. We were unable to get our deposit back and he told us, "my best offer is bring. It back after the wedding and I'll clean it for you". Really shocked at the unprofessional job, terrible attitude to a customer complaint and especially to the threat, "name the place, I'll take you down. Outside right now if oh like". So sad to see this level of disrespect. While we were inspecting the dress, we discovered a moth crawling in it, which Tony told us, "you can keep that, free of charge". Disgraceful read more

I had dropped off a jacket for cleaning and not only did I have to wait 4 weeks to get it back, it has been damaged and the company refuses to own up to the mistake and rectify the problem like true business professionals. read more

Give yourself a break! NEVER go this place / company " Barker Fine Dry Cleaning". They have different place to collect cloth in the city but they send out to a same place. I was in Brentwood location. This place is "professional DAMAGE FINE cloth place/company". My 100% cashmere sweater got 9 woles all over the place. This is my first time sent my sweater to dry clean and this professional dry cleaning company killed my 100% cashmere sweater. The owner "Tony" is very very rude person, yell to customers use dirty words and threaten client he will let other people know about you. The Brentwood location helper Nigar is unbelievable. When they want your business, they said how good they are. When they damage your cloth they treat you like a shit. They said they are "dry cleaning" and they don't know how to take care fine material. They don't iron it. They ask you to iron yourself. They says it takes too much time. This is call " professional dry cleaning". Save your cloth and a day. Never Never go this place ( company, they have a few place in Calgary). This dry cleaning company will waste your money, time and damage your clothes. read more

An update to my last review of Barkers. If I could give this place 0 stars I would but it won't seem to allow me to do that. After being promised my dress back last week, I showed up to pick it up and big shock, it wasn't finished. I called the owner personally where he proceeded to blame the delay on me (for having to replace the stones that he had damaged). He then proceeded to curse at me and tell me that I would not be receiving any sort of discount (even though they damaged my dress and had it for more than 4 months). I told him I wanted to pick up my dress the following day and was assured it would be completed. I picked it up only to find it had not been re-done, and the stones were not replaced. Even the woman who worked there felt bad. This is another case of terrible customer service in Calgary that we have come to find commonplace. I'm writing and posting this here to let you all be aware of my awful experience with Barker's fine dry cleaning in Strathcona Park. I took them a silk blend Theory blouse to dry clean. The buttons on the shirt were all shell. When I went to pick up the shirts they were all broken. They said they would replace the buttons and when I came back to pick up the shirt they're all black plastic buttons on the blue striped shirt. Needless to say it looked awful. I left the shirt at the store telling the girl that they either need to get better buttons or replace my shirt. The owner from the store called me and I called him back this morning. He yelled at me on the phone and told me I was trying to take advantage of them. He told me that my shirt was old (I wore it twice and bought it at Holt) and that the buttons were broken when I brought it for cleaning. He said pick it up or I will donate it to charity and that he would not be giving me a dime for it. When I told him I would tell everyone I knew about his awful service, he said go ahead no one will believe a person like you. I wanted to share this here because this is among the worst service I have ever received from anyone anywhere. Please if you use them reconsider and if you are about to please do not. Not only did they ruin all the buttons on my shirt - he was also very verbally abusive to me and used the "F" word. I am just a customer who deserved good service and got abused. read more

I have been a client of Barker's Fine Dry Cleaning for over 4 years now and they are amazing! They always make it easy for me -- complimentary pick-up and drop off, and when there is a problem with the clothing offering to have a seamstress fix. I get many silk dresses and shirts dry cleaned and they always come back in great condition. Recently, they cleaned my wedding dress (even going the extra mile of cleaning it twice because it was in such bad condition due to our outdoor wedding) and preserved it beautifully. I will continue to use their services and always recommend them to my friends and family. read more

I gave some clothing here to be cleaned at the Brentwood location in Calgary. When I picked it up, an expensive Club Monaco sweater was completely ruined with holes all over the front. It took the owner months to even contact me about a replacement that I asked for, and the most he offered me was $50.00 which was a fight to get in itself, which is way less then the price of my sweater. Absolutely unacceptable, I will not ever be trusting them to touch my clothing again, not to mention way overpriced for the services to begin with. Do not go here! read more

We were regular clients until I took a couple of dresses and my husband's new suit in before a special event. I asked if they'd be ready in time for the event four days later and they assured me that it's no problem. I emphasized how the only reason I was getting them cleaned was for the event. We went there the day before the event and they weren't ready. They apologized and said that they'd be ready the first thing the next morning. I went there with my two small kids in tow that afternoon, and the stuff still wasn't ready! We had to scramble two hours before the event to find other clothing. They were apologetic and said to come back in a few days when they would be ready and they would give a discount for our trouble. I sent my husband to pick them up a few days later and they didn't provide the promised discount. Instead the lady laughed at him for suggesting that they had volunteered to do this! He explained that it wasn't funny to us and the lady laughed again! We won't be back!!! read more
