No. Checking my credit report this year (2013) I found a ding from some credit agency that I'd never heard of...so I called, investigated, etc. Turns out this accountant sent me to collections...even though they had my address, email and phone number!! Why didn't anyone CALL me...or send an email...or mail an invoice?? Instead, they went nuclear. When I found out that I had a balance due, I paid *immediately*--that day. The collection agency has been hell to deal with, and now they're charging me fees for their services. I'm outraged because there shouldn't have been a need for them in the first place! I contacted Bob Ficcas office and they were unhelpful and curt. All told--I'd steer clear of this business. This has been wayyy more trouble than it's worth. Do your own taxes at home...pulling your hair out with a free edition of TurboTax would be far preferable to the months of follow up and frustration that I've been through in dealing with Bob Ficcas office and their faux-collection agency.

This is my third year using Coet and Coet for my business and personal taxes and I cannot say…read moreenough good things about them. They are not the least expensive accounting firm in the area, but they more than earn back their fee in the time, money and stress that they save you. Fran is very meticulous and attentive to detail while still being very warm and easy to work with, and their entire process is laid out for you in an electronic organizer that they provide, so that you know if you're missing any documents that they need to prepare your return. Additionally, if you have a corporation, I highly recommend having Coet2 prepare your quarterly payroll and year-end corporate taxes. These seem like a small thing, but accounting is my most hated business task and payroll taxes used to cause me a lot of problems. Coet2's staffer Barb Arnold now handles everything for me and has completely streamlined my payroll process at a very reasonable cost. In addition, no one at Coet2 ever pushes the additional services that they offer, but they are there if you need them (QuickBooks classes, financial planning, etc.). Highly recommended, and I have dealt with 4 accountants over the life of my business, so I have a good basis to offer a recommendation.

If I leave a voice asking for a call back, I get an email. Simple things that should take a short conversation take days and multiple asynchronous communication efforts. Last year I switched to another accountant. When I asked for my depreciation schedules to be sent to me, evidently their responses went to my junk mail. After I left a message asking for a return call or for the depreciation schedules to be sent, I got the attached email response. From my perspective, this was my first email from them. Not overly impressed with the lack of professionalism. Again, a simple phone call saying they had been sent would have solved the problem. At least this response prompted me to look in my junk folder, I guess. ‍

Several years back he did my S-corp and personal tax return and I ended up overpaying by about $5,000 that one year. He used my S-corp info and Corporate tax ID number as I instructed but he ran my business taxes as self-employed. I had to pay another accountant to fix what turned out to be a pretty simple mistake. Whatever the mistake was it did not require refiling, the IRS was able to confirm it was an error and refund me the overpayment. Bothel refused to refund me the $250 he charged me to do my taxes. You should also know that $250 is way too much to pay for a simple Business tax refund.
