Okay my last review was 6 years ago. I reread my review. I cannot say why I have them a 4! It should always be a 5 because they have always done a fantastic job making Oreo look so Beautiful! As usual, we drop her off and about 1.5 to 2 hrs later Oreo is shorn, sweet, clean, nails trimmed, and always looking The Princess she is! I would always recommend Bark Outloud to anyone who wants their dog well taken care of from people who Love what they do! The prices are moderate. They are on par where one would imagine. Prices has gone up since we started but so has prices everywhere! It's a minimum increase and Bark Out Loud is worth it!! Take your pets to groomers who are caring and LOVE their job! I've been taking my two dogs here for the past five years. They do a great job with grooming, are extremely professional and kind, and commit to your pet's safety and well-being. One of my dogs is extremely difficult during nail trims and they always do a great job with him. My other dog comes back groomed so cute and to my specifications. I love this place although sometimes the grooming is a little below average but for the most part it's good. I have a small maltipoo and 90% of the time she comes back looking absolutely cute and smells so good with cute bows in her hair and a cute bandana, the price is very reasonable compared to other places. Only a few times did the groom look like they rushed and there was lack of detail, it's happened twice out of 4 times so 50/50. Overall my girl seems comfortable going in for her grooming so I know she's treated with kindness and that goes a long way for me. read more

Like many other dogs, my dog absolutely HATES getting groomed. We have struggled for the last 3 years to find a groomer that he does not freak out at. We tried Petco and another local place, and they told us he couldn't come back because of how nervous he gets. A neighbor recommended Bark Out Loud. I was hesitant to go somewhere new but thought I'd give it a try since I live close by. After dropping him off, I was expecting the call to come get him early. I was shocked when I didn't have to come back after 20 minutes because of his nervousness. They did a great job! He was groomed exactly as I requested and more importantly, for the first time in almost 2 years he was able to be fully groomed. My dog was calm when I went to pick him up. Lisa was great! This place is the greatest place to get your pup pampered! They are always so friendly and you can tell they really care about the animals, talk about genuine. They are really great handling my timid chiweenie Cooper! He gets the works (sometimes blueberry facials and paw balm, and other times the general scrub and brush with nails and tails) and always comes out smelling like heaven and strutting the cutest lil bandana, a different design, every time! I am never a person who would leave bad review, but the bad experience I had here made me so. I have a 2 year poodle mix I took him to this place as a first time client since I recently moved to downtown, I specifically mentioned to the groomer that my dog's hair is little matted and if he has to shave SOME spots instead of trying to brush and hurt him is okay with me because I'd rather him to have short hair than going through pain while brushing, he said he can go "short" with no problem. I picked him up after couple hours my dog was completely SHAVED OFF saying that he was matted everywhere which I was in complete shock when I saw him, but I let go because I thought that was best option for him to not be in pain. Usually other shops where I took my dog before always ask and let me know before shaving any spots. Anyways I get home and I see major cut in his inner thigh and big scratch in his belly!! And the whole point of shaving was for him to not be in pain! When I called and asked what had happened, I didn't even get a sincere apology and he told me that was just an irritation that he had noticed it while drying him but decided to not let me know because he thought it wasn't a big deal!!!! when it's CLEARLY is a big cut that my dog wont stop licking. My dog had a bunch of knots of hair on her legs took her here to get groomed and they shaped her little head perfectly. Clean and trimmed nails and buzzed out the knots. Had her smelling great. And finally found a doggie shirt that fit her tiny body. read more

I specifically asked them to TRIM the tail and the ears on my Brittany and they cut off the entire back leg featherings. One of the characteristics of this breed is its feathering on the legs (they don't know breeds, maybe don't be in this business). It will grow back in time, but the fact that I specified only the TAIL and EARS but they CUT not TRIMMED the feathering off the LEGS is unacceptable. They told me they were unsure of what I asked for after the fact. Listen to your customers and pause and ask questions if you're not sure. read more

Stumbled across this place last minute while looking for a pet sitter while my family and I stayed in SD for a few days. Called and spoke to the owner and left our mini goldendoodle there for a few hours to be watched while we went to the zoo. The owner was beyond sweet and cared for our baby without any issues. Eek so disappointed this time! He's very unevenly cut. Very distinctive lines from the upper body to the lower. We get the same cut every single time and I'm not sure why there's not a record of this, so that expectations are seamless. Granted, my spouse wanted to try something a little different this go round allowing for a little more length on the undercarriage, but I am unsatisfied with how our pup came back. He always has a level 7 all around, rounded eyebrows, and a tailored beard. He came back with a bushy chest, angled eyebrows, and distinctive cut lines separating the upper portion of his body down to the bottom. Super choppy looking. I had to trim his eyebrows to round them out and trim his chest when we got home. This cut is just not acceptable. So sad! read more

Bark Out Loud is a cute family-owned dog-groomers that shows how much people really love their dogs. They also run a daycare that's on the second floor and it's so cute to see the little bubble windows so the dogs can peak down. We had dropped off a senior dog around 1:30 and came back for him at around 4. You can make appointments online so that was pretty convenient. He was so cute after his haircut! The service was good. It was a little pricey but it is a small business and it's nice to support the local groomers. read more

*Pending* Our little 10 month old, 5lb Toy Poodle, Lottie, was getting groomed today. It was our second visit to Bark Out Loud. I received the call that she was about ready, so I made my way up to the store. Upon arrival, I was told by the groomer that 'something happened' where he became distracted, turned around and in that moment Lottie jumped off the table. I am now sitting at the B Street Animal Hospital because she has a broken leg. Obviously, there's no charge on the grooming session and BOL will be paying all vet bills related to this incident. We were very happy with the first grooming session & Lottie always wants to go into the store when we are on walks...so that's good & speaks well of the crew there. This was an accident, but it still should never have happened. Date of incident: 12/19/18 Situation pending UPDATE: As of 01/08/19 Lottie has had surgery to implant a plate and 6 screws in her leg. It was completely broken through. Bark Out Loud has taken care of everything, as they should, with no question or complaint. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Lottie will have a follow up X-ray this weekend and have her wraps removed so she can begin rehab. read more

My pup went to Bark out Loud for the first time today. Vincent groomed my pug this morning and did an amazing job on her service. She just turned 12 on Saturday and was due for a beauty treatment. They did her nails, ears, hair cut and bath and it was so well priced.
