From the first meeting, where Kristen came to meet the dogs, I knew I had found someone who would care about my dogs as much as I do. One of my dogs really does like anyone but me. Kristen took her time, and I think spent extra time to get to know her. I received daily emails with pictures of how they were doing, which no Puppy Prison has ever done for me. When I got home, I saw how well they were, and looked happy and healthy as when I left them. He stayed for about an hour answering all of our questions and going through our routine with us. He and his company are very thorough and good at what they do. I felt I could trust him and his staff to come into our house without us being home. When they are done with the visit you get an email with all of the notes from the visit and sometimes you get pictures as well of the dogs playing. This allowed us to go out late on a weekend night. We plan on using them in the future.

When followed up was told I can't sue because I signed a waiver, that it was my fault for boarding an older dog and not boarded before. I never made any accusations or asked for anything but an explanation. I'm so devastated I left my pet/family member in their care.

So when I heard he bit another dog, I thought " do they have the right dog" I instantly rushed over to pick him up. I know my dogs I've had him since he was born. I asked to see the video tap (thinking they had cameras inside) of what happened. Cuz as the owner of the dog who "attacked" I'm pretty sure I have the right! She told me theh can no show me. Which is bullshit. She told me that duke is not ever allowed back! Did the dog have to go to the er? No. Was the dog bleeding? No. I smell BS. If my dog lets other dogs eat and drink from his bowls no way be bit another dog for NO reason. She also had the nerve to tell me " duke is just to excited to be here. It's not a good fit" oh really? The name Happy Pet Place is a misnomer!…read more When we first started using them, the very curt owner left me questioning why I was using them, but we reluctantly took our 2 small dogs there for grooming, for several months. Not once did the dogs come back with the grooming I requested. Each time the dogs came home, they were both highly stressed. The last visit took 6 hrs before I was called to pick them up. When I brought my Morkie in for grooming today, I learned why her legs and feet had been very little grooming done. The owner very curtly informed me, that she was very fussy and they will not "force" a dog to be groomed.....I was stunned. The previous groomer we had been using, for over 5 ys (unfortunately the groomer retired) had no problem is grooming her legs and feet. I was told to find another groomer if I wanted her legs and feet groomed. I was also informed that I could not reschedule our second dog because there was not sufficient notice...I explained that she just became ill before I came in. Didn't matter. Obviously the warm reception finally made me finally decide that I would not let my dogs go anywhere near this "Happy Place"again. NEVER have we experienced such an unhappy, unfriendly place to do business with. I have no idea how they stay in business.

The kind where your powerful dog finds something disgusting to roll in during the night, and you do your best to wrestle the dog into the tub even though she hates watee. And you soap her up multiple times and rinse it out and dry her off the best you can and she still stinks and wants to sleep in your bed. And you pet her stinky fur for 90 minutes before she will lay down and go to sleep. All 3 times this has happened to us, South Paw has been ready to help us right away when they open. Once the woman we spoke to was stressed by how many appointments they had and she still got us in. They are always friendly and the dogs smell good and are in great shape afterwards. Nails are well trimmed. They are speedy too. And their prices, for washing at least, seem very competetive. Highly recommended.
