It's amazing how much you can learn about yourself and your dog in the first training. Our trainer Mike, who is located in the Dallas area, was so nice and knowledgeable. Some of the things we worked on Kodak responded too quickly and I'm already seeing a difference. There are other things I know will take time but the best part about Bark Busters is you pay once for a life time membership for your dog and you can reach out to the trainer in your area for as many sessions as you need even if it's for a new behavioral issue that comes up later. I would never use bark Busters - talk to your vet first about this unscientific method of training. If your pet has any issues with anxiety , depression, fear this will only enhance it and cause long term issues you will end up seeing a Veterinary Behavior specialist for. I signed my puppy up who was 12 weeks old and I would NEVER do this again without gauging personality, trauma, and the trainers are ridiculous. I find it comical that a response was received via Yelp from "Mike S" from Bark Busters yet no one contacted me on my phone, much less the trainer that I had been working with. I have no idea who Mike S. is or what the phone number is when he says to "Call Me". Disappointing. I will however recommend K-9 University in Garland (and Plano). read more

Thirty days ago my husband and I adopted a senior female German Shepherd mix (7+ yrs old), Emma, that had been in a shelter for 6 mo. She was sweet and affectionate but unruly. At 54 lbs. she was too much for us to handle (we're also seniors). SCAM!!!! We spent a year with this company and made no improvements with our dog's fear aggression. When I tried to express my concerns the trainer cut me off mid-sentence and just said I was doing it wrong. He would critique (and rather rudely and passive-aggressively) every little thing I was doing. He made me feel like my dog's aggression was MY fault because I wasn't doing it right and because I was a bad leader. After research, I found that the company has had 7 complaints with the Better Business Bureau in just the last 3 years. They don't even allow Google reviews! It's because the company is a scam!! The techniques are FEAR based and will scare your dog into listening to them. They will have positive reviews because some dogs will bend to submission and listen. But that's NOT HEALTHY! It also will only work with command training, not if you have a dog with behavior issues. They have a one size fits all philosophy and will BLAME you if it's not working. After extensive work, both of my dogs are scared of me now because I was doing what they said to do. They offer a "lifetime" membership because they know you'll quit after a year or less and they still get to keep the $1,300 you paid them. PLEASE Google Bark Busters Complaints or Bark Busters Negative reviews. I wish I had and saved myself and the dogs the trauma. There are THOUSANDS of people out there with the same problems I was having and got no help or response from their trainers either. Not a fan of Barkbusters. Lost interest in training my dog after the $595 dollar fee plus $55 equipment purchased. Better off letting your new dog settle in and reading a good dog training book. The trainer was hard to reach after initial visit-I figure she made about $200 per hour on my dog, plus of course profit on the equipment... Barkbusters also does not honor their guarantee. The office has never responded to my e mails and does not take phone calls. I asked for a different trainer rather than a refund and they didn't respond to that either! Go elsewhere and find a trainer with sincere, shared concern for the welfare of your animal. read more

We have completed our first meeting with Mike and begun implementing the Bark Boosters methods and tools and wow what a difference. We are first time dog owners with a young male husky who was beyond our skill set with many behaviors we did not know how to appropriately address. I have 2 dogs - one a yellow lab puppy and an adult pug. We had out first appointment last night and worked with Wade from Bark Busters for 2 1/2 hours on multiple techniques and commands to use for our dogs. All I have to say is what a life saver they are. last night was the first night and we barely had whining dogs or fighting. Today it is as if they completely did a 380, because they used to not play very well together and they are broke from being rough with each other...for now. Maril was a wonderful trainer. I have a rescue pit bull who spends time with me and another person when I travel. She met with us both and went through all the techniques.
