Awesome place! I have a very anxious Shipoo, and they do such a wonderful job accommodating & getting his haircut perfectly and safely.

This place is the best. We have a dog with horrific skin issues. It's a constant battle. Not only are they professional they know what they're doing with her skin. Today the groomer noticed she had yeast in her under arm areas and instead of oatmeal shampoo, which she told me makes yeast worse, she bathed in a shampoo that is better for her skin. How many groomers would take the time to notice or care. They are great with our dogs and take the time to do a great job. Most importantly I have no fear of how our dogs get treated. I have had other groomers be rough and witnessed a groomer hit a dog at petco. I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else but bark bath read more

I took my extremely unruly corgi here in a last attempt to see if someone could trim his nails as he is very anxious about getting it done. The wonderul lady that helped us did in 5 minutes what even my vet couldn't do, and she was very patient and gracious about his behavior problems regarding nail trims. This is a great grooming establishment. My shih tzu is 8 so I've been to a lot of them and I know how good and bad they can be. The first thing that I love about this place is they don't take all day. I've had bad experiences with other places wanting my dog to be there for 6-8 hours before she's done. BB and B has her in and out in 1-2 hours. They also listen to how I want her groomed and actually do it! With tip it's $60 to get a dog groomed, this is an average price but in my opinion still expensive. So if I'm going to pay that amount I want it done the way I request it and it has been every time I take her here. read more

The first time I took my little guy to this groomer, I was promised a return call when he was finished. It took 5 hours for him to sit at the groomers before I had to call and check on him. Now my guy has had 2 different groomers in 8.5 years, the first moved away and the second I moved away. I have never seen my dog act so nervous as he has when visiting this place. When I walked it and sat in the waiting area, I thought to my self that what I was seeing was not as clean as I'd hope and made me wonder how clean the back area is where my dog gets groomed. My dog yelped as if he got nicked by the clippers, but I know those things can happen and gave the benefit of the doubt to the groomer. In the spirit of second chances I took Murdoch back again because I was happy with the job they did on his haircut. I dropped him off this morning at 8:45 it's now noon. I'm not sure why my dog has to be there all day, his last groomer would only have him for an hour, seems they have you drop off the dog and run around the back until they get to yours. Depending on what time they call me, this may be his last visit. I'm revising my post because I just picked up my little guy and he looks really great. Wow- I am so pleased with my experience here! I was able to make a same day appointment for my Persian cat to be groomed. Amanda asked many questions to get a good feel for his personality. Because this was his first grooming, she suggested we ease him into it, rather than overwhelm him. Most groomers would encourage the most expensive, involved services (which is what I initially intended to do anyway), and I truly appreciate that Amanda took my cat's personality into account and put his needs first (a rarity!) Even though my boy was a massive pain, they were still able to get all his mats out, clip his nails and do a modified Lion's Cut. Amazing! Very reasonably priced too. Also, she suggested that when making my next appt to request to bring my boy in first thing in the morning to avoid any noise. Super sweet! I highly recommend Bark, Bath & Beyond and will be bringing my pets to Amanda regularly. read more

Goodness i have to say after reading the review of Chelsea B. I have to write and say we have always had the total opposite experience of this facility. We have been taking our two large very stinky outside dogs there! Our groomer danese whome i feel she may be writing about is always friendly and always makes sure all of our request are meet! My doggies are always happy, clean, and im always satisfied when i leave. Our doggies love the no kennel free play time too with the other dogs. I have taken our german shepherd whom has a TON of hair to other places and she never smells clean or looks completely sheded here she always does!!! I would like to think my dogs are always safe when they are there and i would recommend this groomer and facility to all my friends and family. read more

I had made an appointment for my dog 2 days prior and When we arrived the owner said i have to reschedule this one i have an emergency to go to at my other store. I thought that was rude she could've called me to reschedule but instead we were there excited for my dog to get groomed. She offered to reschedule but i said No. I will never ever go there and i will let others know that is so unprofessional. read more

I am so impressed by the grooming at this local small business! I own a business several doors down and have had my Border Collie groomed several times now. She actually comes and gets him and then returns him to me. He comes back smelling wonderful and he actually seems to glow he's so clean. Another plus, he is happy when she takes him away and happy when he comes back (he's an emotional dog)! The owner is knowledgeable and professional and really cares about her clients. So i like this place alot ive taken my papillon for years and kaley is sweet she always makes him feel comfortable when he's there. Recently I started taking our lab there and the first time they did an amazing job she was bathed brushed out deshedded I believe nails trimmed and paw hair cut but we went back about 2 weeks ago now and maybe they were too rushed or something but they had my 2 pups on the books for a week or so and yet they both had to stay all day and my lab was barely done. Seemed like they did a bath and nail trimming nothing more it was disappointing and 60 bucks is alot to pay for that service. I called and complained and they refunded me without question my full amount of money. I was pretty impressed actually. We will be going elsewhere in the future but only because its too far to drive now as we moved out of the area but this is a good place. read more

I just love taking my dog to this groomers. They have done such a good job, no matter what day of the week. I know he is just a puppy and so full of energy so anyone that can get him to sit long enough to get such good grooming is worth it 100%. I will keep taking him to them. read more

Lulu s mommy: I ve been taking my little schnauzer girl to the Fern Hill Bark Bath and Beyond for almost 2 years now. Lulu isn t around other animals, so this is about her only exposure to other dogs and it s really helped her learn to get along with them and that s just while she s getting spiffed up! I like the personal touch, that the employees are always nice and welcoming to me and Lulu, not to mention she smells GREAT when I pick her up. They re always open to your requests and willing to do whatever you ask, to include the cute earrings that come with the grooming service. I ve never had a bad experience, so it s unfortunate the other reviewer was unhappy. Considering Lulu is pretty spoiled and has a bit of a nervous personality, the fact that she doesn t mind coming here is comforting to me. I recommend this business. read more

I've brought my dog here the last couple of times. The first time I brought her she had a lot of mats in her fur. Another groomer at a different salon told me we just had to shave her.... My dog does not get shaved. She is a miniature labradoodle but we keep her hair long and fluffy like a mini sheep dog. I brought her in, and they got out about 80% of the mats. They told me that my dog couldn't take anymore and they couldn't do more today. But if I wanted to bring her back in a few days they could finish. First, I appreciate their effort to help my dogs coat. And second I appreciate that they didn't torture my dog by finishing. I was more than willing to bring her back to avoid any discomfort to her. They do a great job and make sure your dog is comfortable. My dog play wells with others and every time I have come in to pick her up (even when I popped in and surprised them) my dog wasn't in a crate. She was out playing with another dog and walking around. I love that they don't just stick her in a crate the whole time. I feel comfortable dropping my dog off there and knowing she is being taken care of. The prices are better than the last place as I was going too! read more

I've been taking my westie and schnauzer to Bark Bath and Beyond for 5 years now. I was so happy when I found a groomer that knew what they were doing especially when it came to my westie. They were highly recommended by my vet. I've been nothing but pleased with Bark Bath and Beyond. The employees are wonderful. Jackie makes you feel at home. They are always open to your requests and are willing to do whatever you ask. I've had nothing but positive experiences with this groomer. We have a border collie, and this groomer (I believe it's Amanda) does the very best job of grooming her, of any place we have taken her. They simply do a beautiful job, and my dog comes out of there very happy, so I know she's had a good day there with the groomer. Last week we had some logistical issues, in getting our dog in for an appointment, but I received a call from Jackie, the owner, apologizing for the snafu and she assured me their sytems are well in place/the issue has been corrected. She clearly cares that her customers remain her customers. I was impressed by that and she will continue to see our business and our border collie will continue to look great. read more

This owner is less than professional, espouses to have an expertise in veterinary medicine because she worked at a veterinarian's clinic, and is rude to patrons who simply disagree with her. I took my 4-1/2 year old cocker spaniel to this business hoping to get a standard cocker cut. The owner listened and sounded as if she understood what I wanted. She told me they'd need 3 hours to do the work, then called to ask for another 1/2 hour. That was fine as my previous groomers took 3 - 4 hours. When I went to pick up my dog, the owner told me the dog had a seizure. She said she knew it was a seizure because she had worked at a vet's. clinic before opening this business. When I went home, I called the previous groomers to see what they had observed during their grooming sessions. They both said she might have been anxious or over stressed (eliminating), but never had a seizure. I called my vet. to see whether I should bring her in, but he said since she seemed OK at the present, I should just watch her. In the 4-1/2 years that I have had this little dog, I have never had a groomer carry on like this. Further to this, I didn't share this with the owner, but I have 36 years experience in special education (teaching and administration). I know what a seizure looks like, what happens following a seizure, and what to watch for after the occurrence. While I didn't witness the "seizure" I was quite aware of what to observe and how to care for my dog should she have had further difficulty. In addition to the seizure info., the owner said I could bring her in 3 days from then so she could finish trimming her ears. When I got my dog home, I realized the fur on her legs/paws had not been trimmed. I called the owner the next day to see if I needed an appointment for the next Monday. She said no, but she would only finish the job if she were to trim her fur completely off! I told her I would not have that, but was upset that I paid for a complete grooming job when it wasn't complete. The owner then said she'd refund my money. When I got there to pick up my money, she said she'd return 1/2 of the fee ($58), but only gave me $26.50. Then as she gave me the money, she said my dog was going to die on the grooming table if I had anyone else groom her! Then she shut the door on my face! What sort of business person is this! I would NEVER suggest this business to anyone! read more

PLEASE DO NOT take your fur babies here!! As a result of their negligence, on December 16th, our Lucy escaped from their facility and was hit and killed by a car. We searched for her for nearly 9 hours. They didn't have a barrier gate up and allow the dogs to roam freely inside the facility. Their neglect and incompetence led to a totally preventable tragedy. They can not be trusted with the care of your pets. read more

We have been taking our cocker spaniel, Tyson, to the Park Ave location of Bark, Bath and Beyond for several years now. Like many older cockers Tyson has several warts and it can be challenging to give him a trim without nicking one of the growths. Tyson always comes home well groomed and without nicks or cuts. Staff are pleasant. The facility is clean and smells fresh. They offer a senior discount. What is not to like? read more

My beloved dog is 16 yr old and mighty afraid of things like getting her toe nails trimmed....she shakes violently and then I get all panicky and it's just one big crap show. Well, that was until I took my sweet Roxy to Kaley, per Jackie's invite and referral. My life has been a little crazy so imagine the relief when I didn't have to make an appt, nor, did we have to wait. The salon is super cute and the dogs looked content and UNstressed which was a huge relief to me and Roxy. About 5 min. later Kaley, with skilled grace, gentleness, and efficiency had Roxys nails trimmed and sanded with expert advice on how to approach future nail care. I don't know about anyone else,but, doggy nail care for me is one scary stressful thing. Jackie and Kaley's service was and will be invaluable to us. Thank you thank you thank you. I've never spent the time to write a review. This is my first...because for the first time in my life, their compassionate,gentle, and expert/professional care inspired me to share my experience in hope that you, the reader, will take this review to heart.
