Wow! Just wow , so my dog Dakota is a tricolored border collie, we enjoy getting him cut down every three or four months. This time it's been about 7 months since he's been professionally groomed. I was so embarrassed as I walked in Dakota pooped on the floor ... just my luck ... the women was so kind ! I was over here like "wow well this is my dog " Dakota ran right in and was so excited to meet her ! I didn't know how to explain what I wanted and she took the time to explain how short a trim would be vs using the clippers . I chose the clippers since Dakota needed to be defluffed some. I know that there have been MANY excuses laid out by this groomer over the past 11 months, but the reality is that she is far too unpredictable to waste your time with anymore. She has stood us up 3 out 4 times when we have shown up for an appointment. She never warns ahead of time, even though she has our contact number and could simply text, "unexpected emergency, need to reschedule." She never even bothers to contact her clients after standing them up, again even though she has the contact info to do so. She has claimed many things over the past year (that is how long we have given her to hopefully level out and do better), but she is just not capable of the service that she used to provide back in 2018-2021. Time is money. Don't waste your time and money standing on her doorstep wondering where she is only to be rudely snubbed without even a follow up apology. read more

Kayley really does do an exceptional job. I'm not one to post reviews ever, but I'm blown away by her service every time. I haven't been able to find a groomer anywhere else that does as thorough of a job as her when it comes to my dog and my brother's dog's grooming needs. We have two cattle dogs and they shed constantly year round. I understand that it's impossible to get rid of all their loose fur, but after taking them to Bark Bath Beyond, their loose fur is always significantly reduced. Amazing service. This is the one place that I've been to in three states (roughly 8 groomers) where the deshedding service is thorough. Every other business does a half a** job of brushing the coat and just giving an excuse that there was too much hair. In fact, I've been so impressed that I continue to return as a customer despite living over 50 minutes away. Not to mention the price point is awesome. NEVER go to this dog groomer! I know this is long, but please READ, LIKE and SHARE! I was referred to Bark Bath and Beyond about two years ago by a co-worker who spoke very highly of the customer service at this groomer.  Because of her input, I decided to take my dog there and was wowed by the groomer and the facility. I was a repeat customer and unfortunately one day found that the groomer I admired had injured herself and stopped grooming. I decided to give her replacement a try, and boy, was that a mistake. My first encounter with the groomer was not great. She didn't pay attention to the information on my dog and how I liked her shaved. She intentionally left my dog's ear hair long and disregarded the grooming card information. No biggie, wasn't a hill I was going to die on. Lola and Sadie both looked decent and unharmed, although the cutting job was mediocre and a bit jagged in places. What I was most concerned with, is the groomer's professionalism. In order to enter or exit the facility, you have to go through a locked door and baby gate. When I was leaving that night, I had my arms full with both dogs and the groomer never once lifted a finger or offered to help me get through the door and gate. She had a male friend in the salon and seemed more occupied with leaving herself than making sure I was a satisfied customer. I brought my concerns to the owner, who at first, was very friendly, empathetic and had great customer service. I was advised to go to the Stadium district salon, who had a more experienced groomer. Unfortunately, when I picked up my dog from that facility, the groomer left patches of long hair on Sadie that I had to cut, and gave me a thank you card meant for a different customer. I didn't bother the owner with my concerns at that time, I decided I was going to find a different groomer and that was it. Until I decided, stupidly, to give the groomer who lacked professionalism another try. She had been calling me to come in for a repeat visit, and the Fern Hill location is so conveniently located in relation to my house. When I dropped the dogs off, I was very thorough in what I was asking, specifically saying I wanted the dog's ear hair cut short. I watched her write the information on the card, so imagine my surprise when I show up and her ear hair is still long. At that point, I was done with this groomer. I didn't make a fuss, paid and thanked her and left. The next day I discovered that Lola had a one inch, dry blooded scab on her ear from the groomer. I was instantly pissed that the groomer did not tell me about it. I get that dogs moved, I even warned her about my other dog being fidgety, but to not tell an owner that you cut their dog is completely inexcusable. It also further proves that she probably cut my dog and then left the ear hair long to cover the mistake. It took me a week to calm down and finally call the owner, and this time, I was not treated with respect or customer service. Instead, I was accused of not getting my dog medical attention (she didn't need it), of the groomer "not knowing she cut the dog probably" and the call ended with her telling me I was no longer welcome at their facilities. During the call, I was calm at expressing my frustration until the owner, Jackie, decided to talk over me and cut me off. At that point, I continued to talk and let her know I was not finished and didn't appreciate her not letting me finish my story. I have no idea why I'm suddenly shunned from the facilities, but wasn't planning on going back regardless.  Jackie, if you read this, please be sure to know that I will be sharing this review everywhere, contacting the better business bureau and will do my best to ensure no one I care about takes their dogs to your facilities. read more

Great place... I trust my dogs there, not like Petsmart where I have have several bad experiences. The service is legit, groomer is welcoming and friendly, and the outcme... fabulous!! If you're looking for a cheap cut or wash however, this is not the place. It's not super expensive but not cheap either. This is the second time we've taken our dog, "Bub" to BB& B. The Owner is the sweetest person & it is very obvious she LOVES dogs! She took Bub from me when I came in and he was shaking from "groomer nerves" (like he always does). She went out of her way to make him feel comfortable by petting him & talking gently to him. I could tell he warmed up by the time I left & I felt very comfortable leaving him there. She also had her own dog there when we arrived. What a sweetheart! It looked like a big, bulldog... and he had such great manners! He didn't intimidate my lil Pomeranian, Bub at all, but just looked at him with interest & didn't make a peep! As for the cut, we asked for the "Boo" cut (you would know what this means if you have a Pomeranian ). She nailed it! He looks & smells amazing! After some research, my wife chose these guys, and it was a great choice! We dropped our little guy off for the works treatment: wash, dry, trim, and nails. Hours later (his fur takes it's time drying), we got the call to pick him up. Verdict: perfection! The dog looked fantastic and he was in great spirits (which, to me, means he was treated well). We left only vague "make him look good" instructions, and they did a great job on him. The price was on-par with the larger pet stores, and I think he got better service. Updated review. The first time my dog was groomed there he looked great the second time, he looks like he got butchered. I asked for length of his ears not to be cut..one is and one is not. There is also a large red mark in his ear that appears to be a bruise. She cut the top of his mohawk which I asked not to be cut. I needed under his armpits cut low, she cut it a little But it wasn't really washed. When I got him home and got him down his armpits were dirty and stunk. He also had a big mat right on his butt. I don't really understand what happened. Plus I came later in the day so he would be the only dog in there. I did call to let her know I was very unhappy. She said " I guess you can bring his back in and I can wash him again". No thanks. You don't get to touch my doggie anymore.. also, there are no safety measures for Covid. They were very friendly and to be honest, my dogs got the best grooming they have ever had before. We are very happy that we tried them as we used to drive 30 minutes before to take them in for grooming and this place is right down our street. It was a horrible mistake bringing my dog here. The groomer was nice enough but she did a horrible job shaving my dog. Besides the fact that his fur is now uneven, she gave him BAD razor burn. For $43.20 I would expect better service. Overall taking my dog here has cost me $123.24 because I needed to take him to the vet to get him some topical spray so he wouldn't get an infection on his wound. For anyone who hasn't been here I am just wanting to warn you that some of the reviews are biased. I think it is very important for me to warn others over the inexcusable treatment of my cat. I am strictly speaking of the management and their lack of professionalism. I had an appointment for my cat at 10:00am and had dropped him off by 9:50am. I was specifically told that I would receive a phone call in two to three hours. It was 3:00pm and still no phone call. My father drove down to find out what was going on and was told that they hadn't even started. We were told to come back. Yes, it was my mistake to consider keeping him there anyway but my father drove back home and decided to turn around and take him back. Mind you this was over 6 hours. The employee working there had the audacity to call our household blame me and my family. Putting the fault in our hands and complaining that they were over booked, that we gave them the ok to keep him there all day long and that we were late for the appointment. First of all, you kept my cat locked up in a cage the entire time. You never had the decency and professionalism to call us and keep us informed. If you were so overbooked than you should have called us to take our cat back home. Not leave him in a cage with n food or water. And if you were really overbooked or whatever the excuse was you do NOT treat any animal in this manner. I have read the reviews of others. Brought my two dogs and cat for a family day of beauty. Since moving my office to Tacoma, my furry kids don't get into their regular groomers. Staff here was more than accommodating and gave me a great price. We shave everyone down, including cat. Their regular groomers, who pride themselves on shearing show dogs only, will leave a few razor trails which we just wait to grow out.
