This was a gem of a little spot, just a block or so from the Royal Mile. I stopped in on my first…read moreday in Edinburgh (8/28/25), and then again on my last full day in Scotland (09/09/2025), and had a great experience both times. The young lady beyond the counter on my first visit was very friendly and helpful, providing some lovely advice and tips for my trip (including for my proposed visit to her native area of England); if any manager/owner is reading, she gets major props! The gentleman who was working on my second trip was also friendly and helpful z but he was working on the back as well, so there was less interaction. Between my 2 visits, Zi tried a variety of pies, pasties, & rolls, all of which were very tasty (although there's something about a Greggs sausage roll; I'd stick to the pies and pasties here, and walk a couple of doors up the street for one of those.). If I'm ever back in the area z I'll be sure to stop in!

We met the owner of The Piemaker while trying this renowned quick bite restaurant in Edinburgh. He…read moreis the nicest guy and his place is extremely popular. These pies are a great light lunch or snack when consumed by themselves. Or one can get a variety of them and make it a meal. The pies are made fresh daily and displayed in the glass case at the counter along with other British style fried foods such as Tattie Dogs, Sausage Rolls, etc. There are a variety of the infamous pies offered. We tried a Steak and Ale pie and an Original Scotch Pie with brown sauce packet for the pour over. I enjoyed mine (Scotch Pie) and could've eaten a couple more God willing. Along with an Irn Bru, this was a satisfying and affodable meal. Definitely give this place a try when in the area.

Okay if you google best dessert places in Edinburgh, you will read about Coro Chocolate. First,…read morethey're open later than most places, not by much but enough that it counts. Second, their team (whose names now I have forgotten which is a shame) are extremely helpful and patient. They know their stuff. I was seated quickly and was given the menu and my eyes...my eyes were bigger than my stomach which is the other shame. My favorite was the Millionaire Shortbread Crepe. I mean come on. That thing was decadent, rich and just enough. That was probably the only dessert I was able to complete. Next, was similar to what we Americans call a pazookie. Nutella everywhere. I should've known that this would be the richest, creamiest and thickest of all. I probably should've ordered water but instead I craved a hot chocolate. I also ordered a hot chocolate which was dark chocolate I believe. Perfect for the cold weather. Unfortunately was stuffed by the time this came out. 10/10 recommend. Service is spectacular, team is friendly and genuinely enjoys being there and desserts, I mean cmon you can tell by the photos. Worth the hype. Worth the money and overall just a good place to hangout after exploring the city.

They have pancakes, waffles, bubble waffles, and crepes and you can create your own (each topping is extra) . They also have brownies, cake, or cookie dough bites and hot chocolate. We ordered the Nutella hot chocolate and the brownie with ice cream (extra). FYI they put marshmallow UNDER the whipped cream and one on top with the hot cocoa. I liked the cocoa, disliked the brownie. The brownie tasted more like a chocolate cake to my daughter and I. My daughter disliked the cocoa but liked the brownie. I also feel like for the price of the ice cream, it can be a bigger scoop. I was so excited to try this spot but overall, I feel it could've been skipped on our trip

The interior reminds me of a 50's coffee place with red leather seats. I got a scoop of Banoffe. It tasted quite sweet. Yes Yes ,all ice cream is sweet, but there is a differentiation of good and luscious tastes. This taste was good and I can recommend this place for ice cream. They have quite a good assortment to choose from and you get served cups and cones, whatever rocks your boat! They also do pancakes and milkshakes, so I will definitely be back! Prices vary, but are definitely affordable. Enjoy!

Yup I was torn about giving this place 3 or 4 stars... Think it's probably 3.75! Great concept, all…read morethe sweets & chocolates to choose from & mix with whatever ice-cream, waffle, pancake combination you desire! I'd actually walked past this place numerous times in the past few weeks and simply hadn't spotted it - nothing eye catching about it and the interior felt more tacky then vintage. Now I'm fussy about ice-cream (living in Italy for 2years has turned my into a bit of an ice-cream snob) so I wouldn't call this good ice-cream at all. However once blended into a shake with your favourite chocolatey treat - it did taste pretty good! If you're feeling like having a bit of guilty chocolate / sweet junk food - then this is definitely the place to go!
