Bob & Ed's was on a maintenance contract for two years for our home HVAC equipment. After the…read morerecent furnace inspection, their technician advised that our furnace might not make it through the winter because the heat exchanger was about to fail, so I had the furnace replaced. When the old furnace was removed, it was discovered the evaporator coils on the old furnace were completely stopped up (see photo). They were supposed to be inspected and cleaned so the equipment would operate efficiently, per the maintenance contract. Bob & Ed's acknowledged they messed up and refunded my money for the current year's contract. The technician from the company that installed the new furnace said the clogged coils contributed to the shortened life of the old furnace. Bob & Ed's disputed that. Lesson learned: Just because a Bob & Ed's technician tells you he's done the work, that's not necessarily so.

He had to climb into my hot attic as well as checking the unit from the inside and outside. He found the clogged pipe and also was very patient with all of my questions. He did a fantastic job. By last night the system had started cooling the house down just as he said. He has been in business since 1995, and has built his business on honesty & integrity. Tommy was the tech they sent out. Quick, polite, and professional. Well long story shortened, the amount that the tech charged us for both the visit and the service was literally a THIRD of what the previous company had charged us. For an a/c unit that received no Freon for twice the amount of time. We will certainly use these guys again and would recommend to anyone who had HVAC needs. We had technician Marcellis McFarlin come out to asses our kitchen sink clog. This company charged…read moreus for a diagnostic visit but made no real attempt to fix our kitchen sink clog. The technician barely inspected under the sink, spent time outside on the phone, and then told us we needed new pipes costing over $1,000. No effort was made to snake or clear the clog, and the explanation given (possible frozen pipes) didn't make sense, especially since other sinks in our home were working fine. He even seemed surprised when we told him our bathroom drains had no issues. Later the day, we hired another plumber who quickly identified the real problem, cleaned the line properly, and fixed the issue completely. This experience felt rushed, dismissive, and sales-driven. I would strongly suggest getting a second opinion before agreeing to any major work from this company. The classic bad-service/upsell-heavy visit was a major red flag. Will not be using again.

They blamed the capacitor and into buying a $400 stop that was installed in less than five minutes, but did nothing cool the house. Then they started to blame the ductwork and even their free estimate person said it didn't look that bad. Stay away from this company they don't seem to know what they are doing and our only trying to sell you a maintenance plan and new ductwork in AC units. They're not trying to fix the problem.
