I came here with my colleague to warm up after we'd climbed up the tower of the nearby Vor Frelsers…read moreChurch - I can highly recommend this combination: burning calories at first and then eating some freshly prepared smørrebrød. For us non-Danes, smørrebrød just sounds so exotic, whereas in fact it literally only means butter on bread. In fact, the Danes themselves often don't call it Smørrebrød, they just call it Rugbrød (rye bread). And it's exactly for the rye part that I love this typical Danish specialty so much. Here at Sweet Treat we ordered one rugbrød with meatballs & red beets and another one with fishcake & sauce - both topped off with cilantro. It was really delicious and although it doesn't look as a huge portion, the rugbrød is actually quite filling. The café itself is tiny, but very cute...I right away felt at home. Although, I think we caught the owner on a bad day, as she was a bit grumpy. Maybe it was because we were sweating so profusely after the climb up the church tower...

I was super excited to check out this cafe within walking distance to Christiania while in town…read moretoday. Sweet Treat is a quaint cafe serving up basic coffee/tea drinks and baked goods as well as a limited dining selection. I ordered the tea and a oat bar and was happy with my selection but thrown off by the rude service. One of the employees behind the counter was kind and accommodating but the lady taking my order was extremely rude throughout my ordering and payment process - rolling her eyes and ignoring me multiple times. Not sure what I did to offend her (maybe because I'm American ?) but it completely ruined my outlook on the place. The tea and biscuit were very good but also very pricy (60 kr total) There are so many cute cafes throughout the city it won't be difficult to find one with kinder service and better pricing.

I stood there for a few minutes and didn't understand why several others who came after me got served first. This is a Copenhagen bakery chain, but I like this location because it has a beautiful view of the canal-lined houses of Christianshavn. I didn't find too many desserts here, but got a ham and cheese sandwich. It was simple, but very good. The ham and cheese were flavorful together, and the creamy Dijon mustard was especially delicious. I do wish there is an option to toast the sandwich, but it was pretty good cold too.

She made an alternate suggestion, nuts and vanilla cream Danish. I also wanted the Xmas tree marshmallow treat again. She placed it in a small box as to not have it crushed. Wow! A small kind way of packing it as opposed to how København H( Central Station) placed it in a paper bag. The store is bigger than other locations. It was busy however the staff did a great job in staying sweet, calm and line was organized beautifully. Thank you! Great experience and delicious treat!
