I would like to offer just an observation for the owner, a very nice gentleman whom I met 2 weeks ago, (forgot his name) to consider.
This is by now means a complaint, nor is it my intention to create any trouble for anyone. My intention is that you consider what I have to say and either use the information or ignore it.
Today, Sunday d.12. June, I started a long walk. I thought of getting a cappuccino to go while I took a sunday stroll. When I walked by and looked in, I saw 2 employees standing behind the counter, heads down, looking at their "smart" phones. I decided to keep walking.
After walking 12Kilometers, I came back into my neighborhood. My thought was to get that nice cappuccino and cruise on home. When I walked by the cafe, the same two employees turned me completely off. One guy sat on the entrance steps smoking a cigarette, looking at his phone again. The other girl had a nice cappuccino on one of the outside tables where she was standing, head buried in her phone. Once again, I kept on walking to find another cafe.
I went to The Laundromat for a very delicious cappuccino. I asked the server there if they were allowed to look at their smart phones while on service. She answered that the policy there was they are NOT allowed to use their phones until they are on break/pause.
I thought to myself that if I owned a cafe, paying someones salary, then personally I would not want to pay people for looking at their smart phones. Instead, if there are no customers, I'd rather have my employees do some cleaning, re-arranging, doing something, anything to improve the cafe and not just sit with a cig and a capp, while potential customers walk right on by.
I may try you guys one more time. read more
