Barefoot Cafe Bar is a small cafe next door to the Yellow Wave Sports Centre, halfway between Brighton Pier and the Marina. As cafes go, it is nothing special: coffees, teas, cold drinks, the like: nothing that you can't get up and down the beach for the same sort of price. The only thing really going for Barefoot Cafe is the location, and the weather has to be just right for that to be worth it too.
Barefoot Cafe is, I believe, part owned by the sports facility next door, or at least set up and organised by them, and thus is clearly meant to be there for the outdoor volleyball players and people like that. With lots of cheap outdoor furniture, and lots of cheap cold drinks, this is obviously a good place to sit after a rough round of volleyball, but otherwise seems to serve little purpose beyond be a place where parents can sit while their children play in the large adventure playground next door.
This is a perfectly nice little cafe, it just isn't quite worth the step out halfway to the Marina. If you're a sporting type, and want to go to play some sports, stop here for a drink after your busy game, just don't come looking for this cafe on its own: it isn't worth it. read more
