Skylar is truly an exceptional massage therapist. I've been seeing him regularly for the past five months for deep tissue/NMT sessions, and they are consistently the best massages I've ever had. What sets Skylar apart is his advanced musculoskeletal knowledge, his technique, and his incredible intuition. I sometimes joke that he has X-ray vision. Even if I can't name every ache or area of tension, Skylar somehow finds and treats every sore spot and addresses patterns I didn't even realize were contributing to the issue. After five months of consistent sessions, I've had a significant reduction in chronic back and neck pain, less overall soreness, and even an improvement in my overall wellbeing. Skylar's deep tissue work is firm and therapeutic while still being relaxing -- a rare combination. He is also especially skilled at treating harder-to-access areas (i.e. around and under the scapula) that many therapists don't effectively address. Grateful I had a lovely 60 minute massage yesterday at Barefoot Bliss. So glad to find the Masseuse Jessica. She had a lovely presence and gave me a great deep tissue massage. She showed me a trigger point to practice at home. Also, Jessica suggested I try a CBD treatment for my neck pain. This was my first visit -- and also my very first time trying Ashiatsu massage -- so I have to admit I felt a little anxious at first. From the moment I walked in, Phoenix at the front desk immediately put me at ease. Her warm smile and calm demeanor were truly soothing and welcoming. The massage suite was spotless, cozy, and beautifully arranged. The music was soft and relaxing -- not too loud, just perfect for unwinding. My therapist was Sage. I had read so many wonderful things about her beforehand, and she absolutely lives up to her reputation. She is incredible. Sage has a very calm presence and a soothing voice that instantly makes you feel comfortable. Though she is petite, she has remarkable strength and exceptional control. The foot pressure during the Ashiatsu work was naturally deeper than hand pressure, but Sage's control and precision were outstanding. She skillfully adjusted pressure and movement to lift tension and work through knots -- and she truly succeeded in releasing areas that had been tight for quite some time. What I especially appreciated was how consistently she checked in with me to ensure I was comfortable and enjoying the experience. Her seamless ability to transition from firm, deep pressure to softer, flowing techniques was beautiful -- particularly during the limb work and the hand massage of my neck, head, and face. I felt safe and cared for throughout the entire session. Sage genuinely cares about her clients, and it shows in every detail of her work. I just have a recommendation: This place needs some serious upgrading/makeover. Less is more, especially in a spa setting. When you go to a luxurious pampering spa, you want to take cute pictures or maybe a mirror selfie. You want to show off your self care day! There was something hanging in the room I was massaged in that was questionable... which honestly ruined the vibe. It was tacky and looked like a child made it. Great local infrared Sauna. I searched for infrared sauna pain relief and found this place offers first week unlimited sauna for only $49. You can't beat the deal! It's located at the old town San Clemente plaza. The sauna is isolated from other massage rooms. You have a separate entry. The whole week I was able to schedule daily sauna for self care. In the room you can watch TV if you want or listen to music. You are required to bring your own towel. They provide small towel to wipe off the sweat. At the end, there is cold water and cold lavender towel to cool you down. My experience was amazing. Love it! Thank you for offering such a great deal. I highly recommend this place and will return to try their massage as well. read more
