Booked to use their jet sky tour of key west via marriott next door (Casy), it turned out to be quite a bad experience. After 10 minutes of free ride, the tour guide said we can not go around the key west because one of us was slow .. if the criteria is to reach 40 miles an hour or more it should have been informed to us ahead .. may be we might have gone with a different expectations.. he took us in a different quick route and brought back to the starting point .. I felt total let down for the price we paid.. I still went ahead and gave about 18% tip .. but I would suggest others in future to know this expectation of the tour joiners from the tour guides.. read more

Jet Ski tour - Great experience for the entire family. Guides provided proper instructions and set expectations for the 90 minute tour. My young adult kids thought a "tour" would be boring and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Plenty of high speed riding and opportunity to have fun just riding jet skis. It's a bit off-putting when the staff keeps begging you to pay them more money. And not just a little bit extra, but outlining how awesome it would be (for them) if you just emptied your wallets and gave it all to them! If the owner is so opposed to paying his staff a decent wage, then he/she should at least add the gratuity onto the bill when you book the trip and save everyone the embarrassment and humiliation of listening to panhandling when you should be hearing about dolphins and manatees. Overall it was a fun experience, however when you are a first time jet ski rider, don't expect them to treat you any different from an expert. When me and my wife started they were moving out pretty fast and we ended up going in the water and the guide that was suppose to be back was very far ahead of us, thus it took some time for him to get back to us to help us. Once he helped us up, he took off again doing speeds of excess of what it said 60 on the speedometer(don't know if that was nautical miles, Kilometers or mile per hour). I eventually got use to riding it but had to do a speed that was slower than most if not all of the other 5 riders. read more

We had the worst experience with Barefoot Billy. We rented 4 ski jets and three of them broke down. Two families were stranded in the ocean for over an hour with kids in the ski jets and there was a lot of panic with no help for about an hour To add to that one of the instructor asked on family to wade through to the shore and that happened to be a navy base and they were greeted with cope carrying guns. Poor kids, got a fright. Lastly, I went to ask for a refund and the reply I got it - you have been in water for over 30 minutes. Now, who's fault is that ? If you have options in the island (which you do), then DO NOT come here. read more

Had an awesome time, was very thrilling. The tour guides were all very cool and professional and helped us make the most of our time. Phew what a ride, be prepared to be a little bit sore and if you have some kind of water proof gloves I'd recommend wearing them as you can get some blisters. Worth it tho, crazy fun all around. We loved our tour with these guys! They are very knowledgeable of the area. They also made sure my son (14-first time jet ski driver) was hyped up and encouraged so he had a great time. It got a little chilly during the tour and our guide (Sean) even gave my son his coat to help him stay warm for the duration of the trip. This place is convenient if you're staying at the Marriott beachside hotel because it's on site and the hotel gives you a 20% discount if you get the hotel package which I recommend. Other than that there's other jet ski tours that's longer and takes you to six different sites. They seemed to be around the same price. This one was good for our family but I wish that they would have shown us more around the keys. The staffs are really friendly. read more

My son and I took the 90 min tour with the Barefoot Billy's company. We were very impressed with the professionalism and details for safety. I've never ridden on a wave runner before and they explained everything and let me ride for a while free style to get used to the equipment, very smart on their part. Snorkeling is not for everyone, but you don't need to snorkel to enjoy this outing. You will see dolphins no matter what. What may not happen to you is losing your wedding ring. My husband lost his ring when he "made the jump" and Vanessa was awesome and whispered into Captain Tony's ear that he someone had lost his ring. We did not expect it!--within 10 minutes later, Captain Tony had dove in with just a mask in 10' of the Gulf of Mexico and recovered my husbands ring which is Titanium--not gold. Captain Tony!! We did the dolphin watch and snorkeling and it went amazing! We left right around 12:10 PM and everything ran very smoothly. The 2 staff members were experienced and answered all my questions as a first-time snorkeler. The captain knew just where to go and we saw plenty of dolphins! He was very fun too and I loved the part to once he had taught us how to use the wave runners and he told us to "tide'm like we stole them!" This was easily the most fun thing we did on island. Want a perfect way to spend 2 hours in the surf and sun? How about a jet ski ride for 27 miles around the island? This was more fun than a grown up should have!! First they make sure that you can handle the jet ski and then you are off to explore the island with a few stops along the way where you learn about the local history. There is also a stop at a sandbar where you can look for wildlife (think manta rays, birds and other marine wildlife). While you might think of a jet ski tour as a ho hum, single file, drudgery. But this is not. You can explore the reefs and like and once the guide is assured you can handle your machine, you are pretty much able to do what you want. The prices are reasonable, $130 for a single rider and $150 for a double. They leave from the Casa Marina every two hours starting at 10am and going until 6pm. And call if you need pick up at another hotel as they will arrange for that too! It's a great way to spend 2 hours in the water! read more
