Last time I did this, a man punched a woman over a dog, some drunk students threw up on each other, and a man proposed only to be unsurprisingly turned down. What do you expect? It's on the seafront, it's open all night: who are they gonna attract? Drunk people and insomniacs, and neither really wants to be there. The menu is huge: most of it is awful. Stick to chips and well-cooked to avoid a premature end to your all-nighter. My only qualm with this place is that they seem to manage to get something wrong with my order every single time I go there. On top of that when we finally DID get our food and got home, they'd put 3 portions of mushy peas in our bag, instead of 2 x peas and a curry sauce. My mushy peas had little discernible flavor, but too be fair, I barely had a bite: while these peas looked as though they'd been mushy at one point in their journey to my plate, they had now hardened and solidified, and were crusty and drained of moisture. Pretty awful. After the YouTube videos and the raves on Trip Advisor and Google, I am genuinely mystified about the disconnect. The final icing on the cake was the price. Haddock and chips here is more expensive than at the infinitely superior Golden Union in London. Quite sad to have wasted my sister-in-law's money on this atrocious meal.
