They mismanaged the previous tenant and made no attempt to notify us of any delays or changes. We now have to incur additional charges to extend U-Haul And find a place to stay until available. Be very careful renting at Barcelona. Our building had a roof leak in June 2022. The roof leak caused damage in our 3rd floor apartment' ceiling. It was reported immediately. We just moved out today and the damage has never been fixed. My computer was damaged and there was evidence of mold. The Maintenance team said they would repair in September because we reported that we were ending the lease after one year on September 23, 2022 My roommate and I decided and communicated the end of the lease in June 2022. I am being transferred to NY with my company and my roommate is moving back to the Orlando area. We communicated our move in June ( well in advance of 60 days notice requirement). We sent the notice to Catherine , our contact at Barcelona. Catherine has since left and when we returned our keys today, the very unfriendly staff said we did not provide notice. They made no attempt to review Catherine's emails or to talk to her to verify that notice was given. The owners, Norland Barcelona LLC and the management company are all about the" money". We are two young men who have been great tenants and starting out in our careers. We lived with mold and smell for 3+ months. Where to even start... My fiance and I just moved out here from California due to a career change. Luckily we had friends out here who were nice enough to let us stay with them until we found a place. We were in a huge hurry to find a new home. As sweet as our friends were to let us stay with them, we did not want to have to unload our Uhaul just to reload it again to move. After going to over 10 locations and almost settling on one we were not in love with, we decided to check out one last place (well I did because my fiance was done looking and wanted to stay in bed lol) I came across Barcelona! Not only was it one of the nicer places we/I looked at, but the pricing was better than most and better then that the staff was impeccable.. specifically AYRIAN OLIVER! We let her know our situation and she even came in on her day off just to make sure we were approved and could get our keys that weekend! We could not be happier with our choice and we are extremely happy to call this place our new home. Ayrian deserves a raise! Not to mention.. they keep this place in tip top shape! Not a safe community. We (residents) have contacted JPD and even went to Barcelona directly regarding drugs being sold throughout the community to residents, using their public wifi as connection and communication, selling drugs to the neighboring community and next to Culver's and the doctors office. Both Barcelona and JPD are familiar with the individuals and issues with no action. Barcelona says they are "working on getting ownership of the apartment". Now the drug users are sleeping on their outside porch. They haven't had electricity or AC for about a month. I have videos and recordings of individuals high walking around the community and distributing outside my home. I have found nasal Narcan (didn't know that existed) with different lot numbers littered on the ground. I come home to occasionally finding police taking people out on stretchers due to ODing. Last time I asked Katherine and The Manager to please help call the cops- we don't feel safe, they didn't even pick Up the phone. Barcelona cannot guarantee a safe community. JPD encourages the phone calls, but will not write a police report. These individuals walk around the breezeway, but being that it's "public domain" they cannot do anything. It's scary coming home, having strangers outside your house, people nodding off high on drugs and your community doing nothing about it. Luxury price with no security or safety. The lack of sense of urgency is alarming. I wouldn't want my children here. read more

I had to leave because my apartment was literally not habitable. I was suffering major health issues and was on oral steroids and a nebulizer treatment every 6 hours because of smoke coming into my apartment (building 1 apt 304) that the complex refused to correct. Because I could no longer live there, I am now stuck with a $3,500 breakage fee even though I begged them for months (since the week I moved in 10/31/2020) to fix my apartment. I have emails, service requests and voicemails about this. The complex did not provide me a habitable apartment and they did not fix the issue even though I repeatedly told them I had asthma. I moved to Barcelona in September 2015. Things were ok for 3 years. In October 2019 the air handler motor of my a/c stopped working. Maintenance brought one from a vacant apartment. Within a month I developed skin lesions and not feeling great. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease but kept getting sicker, heart palpitations etc. One day I noticed black mold on the ceiling and walls coming from the air handler closet. Within a week it was coming from the front door also. I called the office. Brandi Lugo said she would hire mold remediation. It took over 2 weeks for her to have this done. She canceled twice. I had no where to live but in this toxic mold environment. Then blamed me for causing the mold! Told me I would have to pay for what was NOT remediation but a simple cleaning. After a few weeks the mold came back. I was very ill and began conversations with Barcelona and Bainbridge and their attorney that I needed to break my lease and move. They would not do so nor admit even seeing the situation that this was their fault. I finally moved, their attorney said I would be allowed out of the lease (only a month left). Unbeknownst to me, Brandi sent a massive bill to their collection agency Hunter Warfield claiming I owed money for what is essentially normal wear and tear. No mention of the massive toxic mold problem. They wanted me to pay for mold remediation so made up 'charges.' It has taken this long to semi recover and begin to fight this fraudulent bill. I now have an auto immune disease and permanent health issues. read more

Total rudeness from the desk clerk the minute we walked in. Rather than trying to be warm and welcome, she preferred to treat us like we were suspects instead of prospects or future residents. The property manager wasn't much nicer, what a surprise. The good news is because of their lack of professionalism we found an amazing place not far down the road. I can almost assure you that once this is discovered on social media that the fake good reviews will start trickling in. But that's OK because us Yelpers and the entire community know better. Fact: Open since Nov 2014 and not 1 single good review...actually to be fair there aren't any at all but other than a clubhouse there really isn't much special here. Supposed to have the NFL ticket and such but it also feels like one of those places where if things go wrong that you have a better chance of playing pick up sticks with your butt cheeks(PTA) than getting anyone around there to help you. They won't even show you the apartments when it trickles down rain. I choose not to mention the names of the mentally afflicted here, I hope they seek help. read more

Horrible place I am so sorry I signed a year lease at this place. My apartment is a cookie cutter and falling apart. The dog walk area is a swamp and flooded all around the outside area of dog walk. I'm a nurse so my hours are kooky and if I work a night shift I have to park so far away from my house it's absurd!! I live on the bottom floor and I can tell you exactly where the people above my apartment are at all times. The front office personnel are so rude and disrespectful I walked out after trying to get my place fixed. I hope the iron out these kinks ASAP!!!!!!!!!! read more

Really nice amenities. Beautiful pool and state of the art gym. Really well kept property. Apartments are like new and very modern with wood floors, led lights and new stainless steel appliances. Elevator buildings available in a couple of the buildings. Very friendly community and I love the daily valet trash. Dog friendly neighborhood and great location. Erika and Amanda were both AMAZING! Really easy to deal with and genuine people. Made the move simple and easy. Only have been here a week, but love it so far! Thanks for a great experience!!! read more
