Came back here for the second time since the first visit went great…read more We ordered the Gator Bites, Diablo Queso and 2/3 Ribs with Fries and a side of tortillas. Again, the Gator Bites (5/5) were cooked perfectly. It was tender and juicy while the batter was crispy. The seasoning was great. It can definitely go without the dip. Diablo Queso (4/5) with tortilla chips was smooth and creamy with a slight tang. The cheese had a sharpness to it. It also had some ground beef in it. Although it could use more jalapenos (there was only one slice). It's better to eat this dish while it's fresh as the texture of the dip isn't as great once cooled down. 2/3 Ribs with Fries and Pickle Slaw (4/5) was delicious. We had it with the Bold Texas BBQ sauce which was spiced with a slight sweetness to it, which complemented the woodfire grilled ribs. The ribs were flavourful, smoky and tender although they didn't exactly fall off the bone. We wish there was additional sauce for dipping. The fries were good as well. The Pickle Slaw was okay. It was crunchy and tangy but definitely needed more dressing. This time around the service was okay (2/5). We came on a Wednesday at 2:40pm. We came in and waited for a host/hostess to bring us to our table. After waiting for a bit, a male server came to the front, made eye contact with us and we said hello. The male server proceeded to put back a menu on the desk and walked away without acknowledging us. After a few minutes, a female server came and asked us if anyone has helped us. We told her no and so she took initiative to seat us at a table. The service was slower compared to my first visit all throughout. They were advertising 85 cent Wing Wednesday which is what we wanted to try, they were unfortunately sold out of wings when we got there a few hours past noon. This place has a nice ambiance to it. It was Western rustic and cozy.

A good pick for anyone looking for a place to eat along Historic Downtown Newmarket. Made in Mexico…read morehas that homey, rustic charm that is sure to welcome anyone who comes inside. Parking is surprisingly abundant at the back of the establishment. The lady and guy server who attended to us were both pleasant. The food preparation time was also not that long for our order of fish tacos and a holiday special. Food was scrumptious and cooked really well. I also enjoyed the soup that came with our full meal. The restaurant is larger than it seems. Downstairs where the washrooms are, there is ample room which I believe can be used for functions or whatever else. Overall, this place is a gem which I would recommend to anyone visiting downtown Newmarket.

There's some on street but there's a large lot down some stairs behind the restaurant The place: They moved a unit or two away from their old location. So they're in the same area just not the same spot. It looks more like a restaurant now less like an office that serves food. Menu: Mexican stuff of course. Food's good there's a reason why it was featured on you got to eat here. I like the guacamole and the tacos. I always get the tacos when I come. Service: The waitstaff are always so nice and honestly will answer the stupidest questions with a straight face which makes me like them even more!! I'll be back this is a place that we go a lot with work folks

A friend of mine was visiting for the weekend and we decided we'd like to have an adventure, so…read moreheaded downtown... I love Mexican food, and as someone who has had AUTHENTIC Mexican (my cousins are Mexican..so I'm not talking Taco Bell here..) I was very excited about the prospect of going to Mexicano's. When we arrived, it was about 8pm on a Saturday night so it wasn't very busy (the weather was crap as well..) so you'd THINK that the service would have been a little more "on spot".. It was just us and another table of 2 and they had already been served. We finally ordered a couple of Dos Equis (tasty!) and took a look at the menu. They started us off with some nacho chips and homemade salsa.. a little watery but tasty and SPICY! Although intrigued by the section entitled "STREET TACOS".. we elected to go with a combo platter for 2 which had a variety of various foods on it.. all were delicious.. and there was a very good variety of menu items. We couldn't even finish the whole thing as there was more than enough food for two (and we LOVE our food..) The only complaint I would have is the service. Had it been better, they totally could have made more money from us.. we would have at least had another beer.. The decor is bright and colourful albeit a bit "worn".. but very fiesta like. The staff was friendly and nice enough.. just didn't see enough of them! All the food is freshly made on premise - the place is owned by 2 Mexican brothers and the quality is very good. All together, with 4 beers and food for 2, it was under $50 so it was a decent deal as well!! I'll go back. The food is delicious and I'm craving some Mexican right now..... yum!
