TL;DR: If you have any anxiety about GYN exams or just need warmth and compassion from your…read moreproviders this is not the place for you. I left in tears. My experience getting my Annual Exam was abysmal. First, the office staff was gossiping in earshot of Pt's in the waiting room; I was also able to hear an insurance of another Pt review occurring (gives me privacy concerns). I could have overlooked these things as they are fairly minor IMO and happen everywhere. However, when I was called back, the nurse did introduce herself (standard/best practice in healthcare is to introduce yourself and your role), and did not smile the whole time I tried to talk to her. Yes, no one owes me emotional labor, however a small social smile welcoming a new Pt would have been nicer and helped put me at ease (and lets be honest, most people going to the GYN are at least a little anxious...PAPs are no fun). She was frustrated I did not want to be weighed (please note: it is valid to refuse any medical test, including weight) and was unsure of my exact weight in that very moment (she signed, rolled her eyes, and spoke in clipped speech). She was also visibly upset that I had not had a period in 10yrs due to having an IUD and therefore could not give her a "last period date." I tried explaining I had an IUD and couldn't remember the last time, but she continued to sigh heavily. It was at this point I decided to leave my appointment. I have worked in healthcare (hospital and private practice settings) for 15yrs and I understand frustration with Pt's who don't know answers or who don't go with the flow (ex refusing to be weighed), but to treat someone with increasing hostility because they don't know answers is not good practice. I become so upset I began to have a panic attack and shake and was on the verge of tears and I am not typically that kind of person. It takes A LOT for me to feel so uncomfortable I have to leave a place. Gynecology is a sensitive speciality dealing with extremely sensitive and personal matters, to have staff who treat Pts as adversaries is not acceptable. Further more when I left no one expressed concern over why a Pt would be so upset they would have to leave an important medical exam. The doctor was standing right there looking at me and said nothing. This is not a practice interested in doing better, this is NOT a practice for you if you have any level of anxiety or need any warmth or compassion from your providers. It's also not the practice for you in you care about your HIPAA rights (ex. having insurance calls with doors open where Pt's can hear in the waiting room).

I had my first baby at CDH on 03/30/2016, i was lucky to switch to this hospital at my week 28, i…read morewas so hesitate to choose a hospital and OB since my insurance was changed, but after read lots of reviews from different sites, we finally choose CDH as my hospital to deliver and Dr Kevin Hussey as my OB, it was a bless. Dr Kevin Hussey / OB: A very good doctor especially after i heard his story of how nice he is treating his patients and how professional and wonderful he is as an OB. He is very efficiency, professional, kind, knowledgeable, patience...these are all very important to first time parents, cause we always have lots of questions and concerns and he can solve them all and made us feel comfortable and confident about my pregnancy. One thing i do want to mention here is he is my life saver, i had a hard time doing virginal delivery and after two hours pushing, i felt like i am gonna die, and i was asking for C-Section, after seeing me in such pain, he immediately moved me to the surgery room for C-section delivery, and it was like 11:00pm on that day, and he did excellent work to my delivery and incision part, today is the day 9 after the surgery day, and i am feeling wonderful, love Dr Kevin Hussey, next week, i am going to see him again for my postpartum check up, i am going to give him a big hug :) CDH: Classes: Me and my husband took three classes in this hospital, delivery place tour, give birth basics and breastfeeding class, the teachers are knowledgeable (showing all useful messages and information ,answers all question from us, mostly first time parents with silly questions :)), the atmosphere is friendly and fun, we did learn a lot from there which is good cause we have very good preparation for our baby's coming. Dietician: I was found out have gestation diabetes at week 28, and had to see the dietician very often since then, i just wanted to say a big thank you to Dr David Ding, he is very professional and knowledgeable, he used the most common understandable way to explain me my situation and watched my diet very carefully and closely (weekly), my numbers were controlled very well under his monitoring, plus, his nurses and office staff are nice and good too. Nurses: Not being exaggerate here, all nurses that had been taking care of us are so nice and patience, from 2nd floor (where i did my delivery) to 3rd floor (where i got sent to recover), not even a single one is not nice, me and my husband were so appreciate their cares Dean from the 2nd floor is the name we want to mention here, when i was having so much pain while waiting for dilation, i was after her patient for the anesthetist, but when she saw me in pain, and her patient wasn't that bad, she had the anesthetist came to me first then her patient, i was so thankful to her. The 3rd floor where i got my recovery after the c-section , they are so nice checking on me every few hours, taking care of both me and my newborn...the restaurant for recover mom and baby is also nice, they gave us more foods than we ordered, just to make sure we had enough nutrition. .... Too much to say, but make the long story short ( i know it's already very long), I highly recommended Dr Kevin Hussey for whoever need nice OB and CDH to all mom to be. My next one, i will still choose this OB and hospital for SURE.

It was neither what we asked for, nor wanted, but we were stuck and forced to take the option. We went to our appointment on day of, and they said that the alternative appointment that they gave us was also cancelled, not by us and they couldn't tell us who cancelled the appointment. Gave us an appointment 2 months down the road. Kinda defeats the purpose of time sensitive to reschedule 60 days down the road. Bad customer service, so can't comment on quality of care. Pass on this place unless you like being given a run around.

Their hours stipulate that they are open from 9am to 12pm, but when I called at 9:30am, I had to leave a message with an "agent." The office staff is rude. And finally: I had called two days previously, on a weekday (because the practice refused to accept my pharmacist's request for a refill on a prescription the day before), and was told that a request would be put in if I made my annual appointment, which I did. They then did not forward my request to my pharmacist and I am now out of my prescription. I would highly consider a different practice, as I am sure there are several that could meet your needs as a patient.
