I would say that I'm generally risk averse; however, in my 41 years on this planet I have discovered some amazing things (and people) by taking risks. Therefore, when I needed a haircut for an upcoming wine tasting event, I took the risk and booked an appointment with a new barber. When I shared this with my wife, she had a look of concern that admittedly frightened me. However, looking at James' aka bandikablenz's portfolio, I was confident that he could get the job done right. When I arrived at Barberz Dreme, I was greeted by one of the barbers who inquired whether or not I had an appointment. I mentioned that I had an appointment with James and he pointed him out. While putting the finishing touches on another client's haircut, James acknowledged and let me know that he would be done in a few minutes. When it was my turn - James inquired about my style of choice, I showed him a photo of a past style, and he went to work. Throughout the experience we engaged in pleasant conversation and he did a great job of inquiring about certain styling details (i.e., whether I wanted my mustache to be slim or thick). Although there was a very good game between the Oklahoma Thunder and Phoenix Suns playing on a TV behind him; instead of pausing to watch the game, he would ask a fellow barber for updates. This was a testament to his desire to remain focused on the task at hand and ensure that he completed the cut in a timely manner, I truly appreciated this. Considering that this was my first time working with James, the haircut exceeded my expectations. When I entered our home, my wife did a full 3.14 (the circumference of a circle) to inspect my haircut. She gave me a look of approval and suggested that James should be my new barber. Kyree was 20 minutes late to my appointment I had for my son. He didn't try talking to my son either say hi or nothing. Wanted him to climb a seat that had 2 paddings which I don't think that was safe. I had to tell him that was too high and he can't climb up to sit on top of that. He isn't even that little of a kid. He is the first barber I had that was kind of rough/heavy handed cutting his hair. My son said "Ow " a few times. I am proud of my son sticking it out. I would have left if he didn't need a hair cut for picture day. Hair cut didn't look like photo, he missed some spots that long hair spots or not even. I had to tell him to fix it. Was not worth the cost of hair cut. I do like the atmosphere of the barber shop. Guy next to him was nice. read more

As a mother of ALL boys, I'm not even sure why I never thought to bring the boys to the a barber shop before. Like I walked in and I wash taken back at how cool I thought this place was. It was like what I've seen on movies but better if that made sense. The vibe was definitely different but in a good way. My husband and boys were greeted promptly and they were able to seat the boys pretty fast. My little man got his cut by Steav, which he will now have a repeat customer. He talked to my 6 year the entire time and the small talks means a lot to me. As a mom, you always want your little ones to be comfortable and Steav definitely did that. He was awesome. THANK YOU for making our first time awesome! We will be back. My older son had his hair done by gentleman there, i can't remember his name but also did a great job. My 13 almost 14 year is extremely picky and hasn't cut his hair for some time because he has been saving it. Today we went and he was pretty happy with the outcome and said he would like to keep coming here. Overall, the place was spacious, clean and didn't feel cramp. The music is a bit loud and you see people hanging out but hey it's a guy vibe so I get it. Pretty cool place for the boys and I've already started telling others. If you're someone who's pretty socially anxious and nervous like me, this place isn't for you. I had an appointment set up at 1pm with Drew Romero and promptly arrived. It's a really cool place with a loud and fun atmosphere. But I had no idea where to go or check in. Everyone seemed too busy. I waited twenty more minutes to see if anyone would approach me but nothing. I got quickly discouraged and left. The vibe they try to put out is an atmosphere of positivity and support but I guess I didn't get that. I wanted to try something new today from my regular $10 barber shop because people raved about this place. But I think I'll just stick with that for the time being. read more
