I've been going to him for several years now. We've built a great rapport. When the few times he wasn't available the other staff there have done great on my hair also. Communicate to your barber. Let them know exactly what you are envisioning and they will listen and deliver. Keep in mind that sometimes you have to go to a barber more than once for them to understand your hair. Everyone's hair is different so give the barber a chance to fine tune things. That's what I did with Mark and he knows my cut naturally now. Doesn't matter if this place is far from you or not. I've walked in twice and had Alex both times. Despite me giving clear instructions to leave length in the front, sides, and back, he ignored the plan and cut it far too short. Cutting curly hair is a skill, and when I asked for scissor layering, I specifically suggested he pass me to Julio if he wasn't the right person for it. Instead, he took the job anyway without a word and butchered the style. It felt like he was just trying to squeeze in one last client before finishing, and my hair paid the price. He was very courteous and told me he had an opening if I could show up in the next 20 minutes. I headed right over there and he was waiting for me. Really cool down to earth guy. He is very detailed which I appreciate. He took his time and if he wasn't satisfied he took his time to make sure it came out exactly how it should look. This review is for the owner Dave. I made an appointment for which I paid and tipped very generously only to later find out at home that I got the worst haircut of my life time. As you can see on the pictures there are extremely uneven spots all over. No matter how hard I am trying to read the mindset and thought process of the young man who cut my hair, I just can't figure out how is it possible to mess up someone hair like this. The only possibility here is foul play and sociopathic behavior similar to those young men we hear about whom are working at fast food chains and are thinking it is funny to mess up with peoples' food. It's just impossible to mess up in this manner unless it was purely intentional. Days later I requested to speak to the owner. Dave the owner called and we spoke over the phone. I urged Dave to take a look at this, because I never seen anything like this in life, I just can't call this a haircut. There are spots that are cut uneven not by millimeters but two to three inches. THAT IS RIGHT TWO TO THREE INCHES. I also informed Dave that there is still sufficient length to my hair that can be fixed into something presentable. Instead of taking ownership and responsibility, Dave said he doesn't have time and I should see the young man again, because he wouldn't hire people that he doesn't think are talented. I made an appointment and I went there again. The young man asked me how do I wanted it? I told him I am glad that there are no customers there so I can speak to him freely, and I also told him not to feel pressured or be nervous, my hair will grow again. Then I pointed to the mistakes he made the first time and I asked him to turn this into something that is presentable. The young man showed me a couple of pictures and said he can fix my hair like them. I picked one and I asked him to fix all the unevenness. After he was done, I asked him a few question because he looks too young. 21 year old and less then two years on the job. I told him we are in a similar profession and our job is to make people look good. It doesn't matter if you hate someone because of how they look like or where they came from, in the end the haircut you give is a representation and advertisement of your job, you do a poor job you will ruin your own reputation. So being young and early in his career I chose not to name him. The young man kept offering me a refund, but I kept refusing. Now Dave the owner, you failed. After this disaster I gave you the opportunity to correct this intentional or unintentional mistake, but you chose to save face and ego over customer service. You cowered and avoided witnessing this mess of a job first hand yourself. The the second attempt to fix things, over the last three days, everyday has been a struggle to fix my hair but what made me come back and write a review is when a coworker attempted to fix my hair without knowing anything about this ordeal but kept failing. Had you done your job right the first time we didn't have to go through this mess, had you taken ownership, respected your profession and customers, I didn't have to come back and rewrite this review. I asked a few friends if they've ever been to this establishment, one told me that there is only one barber at this place who knows his job well and he is always booked with his regular clients, everybody else are not even as talented as the $6 Chinatown alleys barbers. Well, I am still not convinced that this was a mistake or a job done by a il experienced and poorly talented barber. A mess of this magnitude can only be caused by toxic intentions. If you're a new customer, make sure you check your hair very very carefully before you walk out of there and make sure you see the right person, or else every morning when you fix your hair, you will be very very disappointed and upset. read more

Booked an appointment with Johnny after work today after work because he was the only one available. I had a feeling he was the only one available because he must be new, so I was skeptical to get a cut from someone new. Johnny has only been cutting hair for a year, but to my surprise, he actually cut my hair the way I wanted. I asked for a mid fade textured fringe and had also told him that no one is ever able to cut the top of my hair the way I like it. However, Johnny definitely surprised me. My hair didn't look exactly like the picture I showed him, but the fault was on me for that because my hair isn't long enough for it to look like that. For someone new, Johnny definitely has what it takes. I gave him only 4 star because everyone always have room for improvements. Only giving two stars because the hair cut for my son was ok. I reserved a haircut through their online booking service which requires a credit card (I'm ok with that). About 30 minutes before the haircut, my card was charged for the service without me even taking my son in yet. They were quick to take my money before the service was even started and it would've taken me days to get that money back if I would've rescheduled or not been able to make it in. Avoid this place at all cost. No customer service, no attempt to build rapport. I went into the Barber shop next to the fitness center. I was told that no one could cut my hair, even though the sign on the door says walk-in available. The Barber directs me to go to their 2nd location across the street & someone there could cut my hair. I go, I sit down wait for someone to cut my hair. 3 people come in after me. All 3 got their hair cut. I figured maybe they had appointments, but the Barber proceeds to ask the dude his name & how he wanted his haircut. I wasted 1 1/2 hours and not once was acknowledged, not one person said, "We'll be with you shortly." If nothing else, someone could have said they couldn't cut my hair. We absolutely LOVE this barbershop and our barber! My son (3 years old) gets his hair cut by Paris (Pmoore), who is EXTREMELY patient with children...might I add. Paris is very precise with his craft, and does an A-1 job each time. Not only is he consistent with his cuts, he is very professional and is ready for us at our exact appointment time (which I can appreciate with a 3 year old with little patience). I can count only once that he text me prior to our appointment and advised he was running 15 minutes behind, once we got there, he was waiting and ready for us. As a woman going to the barbershop, it can be uncomfortable...since this is essentially the "man-cave" but every barber that I've encountered has always been very respectful and I've yet to come here and hear any foul language or disrespectful conversations (around the kids or ladies that is).
