I replied by saying "yes", and he responded by saying that he couldn't tell... you've got to love the candor of a child! After this interaction (and my wife confirming my son's sentiment), I decided that it was time to start hunting for a new barber (no disrespect to my previous barber). While looking at Booksy's list of recommended barbers, I stumbled upon Hollywood Day's profile. After seeing a solid portfolio of haircut photos, I booked an appointment with her. When I arrived to Dorian's Barber Studio (the shop that she cuts within), she was patiently waiting for me. After showing her a photo of a tapered afro style that I had last year, she did not hesitate to go to work! Exactly 40 minutes later (which is the time allotted for haircuts on her booking page), she spun around in the chair and asked for me to look at the finished product. To say that I was pleased with the haircut would be an understatement. My hairline was intact and sharp, mustache and beard was lined, the blending (taper) on both sides were even, and she even went the extra mile and trimmed down my somewhat bushy eyebrows. It's been a very long time that I have seen a barber that is both efficient and delivers a quality haircut (usually one of these qualities is missing). I almost went back to paying $80+ for a consistently solid haircut, but thankfully I found Hollywood Day! I've already been to her twice, and will be scheduling future appointments. It's Difficult to Review barbershop's because each individual barber has his own style of cutting hair. I understand coming in and getting someone random and not liking how it came out because of the style or skillset of that individual Barber. You Honestly have to try a few out and see who you like the most. I highly Recommend "GT" the barber. He's been cutting mine and kids hair for years and always does a great job. He listens to what you want and pays very close attention to detail. Make sure you book an appointment ahead of time. He gets booked quick. As far as the barber shop goes, it is a very clean establishment. A decent waiting are with a few seats and Televisions all around for you to choose what to watch. This is a review of Fonzo. I have been to Fonzo at Dorian's Barber Studio twice now. I found out about Fonzo from a friend and decided to try him out for one of my crazy haircuts. The first time I went in there was the first time I had ever step foot in a barber shop and I was nervous. Fonzo treated me like any other customer in the shop. I sat down in the chair and asked for a portion of my hair to be shaved down into a design. He showed me a few pictures and started designing. When he was done, I loved the design, I loved it so much I wish I had gave him a bigger canvas to work with. The second time was today. I have since then chopped all my hair off and decided it was time for a bigger design before I grew it out. I called Fonzo for an appointment and he was able to get me in that day. I explained what I wanted and he started to cut. I like Fonzo because he stops and asks before he does something drastic. He takes his time to make sure it is just right for the style I wanted. When he finished it was perfect. I loved the unique design and the time I spent in the barber shop. This is a new barber shop but I've been going to my man Taylor for close to three years now. To keep it short and to the point, he is the single best barber I've had in my life. Occasionally I've had to go to other barbers when I've travelled out of town over the years, and none of them have ever come close to matching the quality of Taylor's haircuts. He takes every single haircut seriously with extreme precision to detail and is all about getting it "just perfect." He won't let you leave unless you're 100% satisfied with your cut. Aside from his obvious talent, he's also a really genuine and stand up dude. He'll conversate, laugh, joke, chop it up, share stories about life with you if you are the talkative type of person or just leave you alone and focus on the cut if you're the quiet type of person. Overall, I highly recommend you step in, introduce yourself, and make an appointment with him. The barber studio itself is one of the most aesthetically pleasing barber shops I've stepped into. Spacious with 10+ barbers working on the weekends so even if you're a walk in (pro tip: always get your barbers number and make an appointment), you never have to wait longer than 30-45 mins.
